Sushi Moon

Came in for an early dinner with two of my friends. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and modern. Our server (wish I got her name) was attentive and made sure that we were taken care of. I had the Jessica roll and the seafood udon. Both were of better quality than what I have had in Bakersfield. The udon had a good ratio of noodles to seafood. The only thing I wish was different about it is if they served larger sized shrimp in this dish. My friend got the flaming troy roll and I have to say the presentation of this roll is very entertaining! They have also have a variety of FLAVORED soju which was a big plus for us.
Overall this is a great place to go to grab some sushi! I can’t wait to return.

We have never had a bad experience at sushi moon. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. Try their Firestone, thin cut, on soy. You’ll not be disappointed. Recommend to all. A finer dimming for those who live sushi !

Moved to Bakersfield about a couple of years now and this place remains our favorite. Great Sushi and great ambiance. The restaurant is dimly lit and has a romantic feel to it so it’s a great spot for date night with wifey but also great for a family night out too. The sushi is fresh and tasty. Every now and then we want to make things interesting and try a different sushi spot but we end up coming back. We’ve liked every roll so far EXCEPT the ninja. My princess likes their shrimp tempura and Cali roll.

Sushi was delicious. I ordered the Tiger Woods and Rockstar Roll. Both were very good. Husband does not like sushi so he ordered the teriyaki chicken roll and his chicken was a little dry. The place is a little too open in my opinion. Other than that, the atmosphere is good.

Best Sushi in town. Great wine selection. Fish always taste fresh. My wife and I love the service. The décor is awesome. I suggest the chef special sashimi and fresh wasabi. The smoked salmon roll is fantastic. I want sushi I think sushi moon. A+

Best sushi in Bakersfield! I highly recommend the moonlight sonata, flaming Troy, the garlic edamame. Fresh fish and great combos of flavor.

Rolls are good. but when you wait ²⁰⁄₃₀ minutes for fried rice. And already full from eating all rolls and you tell them to cancel your rice order. And they don’t so you have to pay for food your not eating is bullshit. Note it was not even busy.

I had dinner here for the first time a week ago. I fell in love with the place! It’s beautiful inside and the service is amazing! We had three different people attend our table of four. My water was always filled to the top and I drink a lot of water! I went through four glasses! Normally I have to wave the server down and at the place not once did I have too. It’s a perfect place for lunch, a date, and birthday! My friend ordered a soup, that I need to find out what it’s called! I had her left overs the next day and could not believe how amazing the flavor was! I’m seriously going back there just to get that soup and extra because it’s chilly outside. I love this place and hope you do too!

Came by for lunch yesterday while in town. The employees were really friendly and the food came out fast. I ordered tuna sushi and it was super fresh and delicious! I also got a specialty roll with tempura and it came out perfectly. They obviously use high quality fish here. Our server Joy was also really awesome. She was friendly and made sure we were taken care of the whole time we were there. I would definitely come here again next time I’m in the area.

Every time we come here it’s such a cozy and welcoming experience. The owner always greet us and walks around checking on every table making it such a good dining experience. We never have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated even on a busy night. Our waitress constantly check on us and our food comes out super fast. The food is great and the atmosphere is lively. This is our go to place for sushi every time.

Had the super Poke Rolls the last, last time I went, then the 911 roll the more recent time I went. The tuna on the poke roll didn’t taste too fresh so I didn’t finish it, but it’s hard to get extremely fresh sushi in Bakersfield anyways. The 911 roll is super yummy too. My boyfriend gets the donkatsu (pronounced DON-​KASU) here often and it’s just as good as my mom’s homemade ones. :)

Don’t be afraid to take people who don’t like raw fish here, they have tons of options.
The price is a bit expensive, but honestly if you ate at iHop, the bill would be the same lol.
The manager seems very nice and always on top of everything.
Highly recommend you try here. The presentation of the food and the interior design is super cool.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was great. It came served with onions rice and some others like zucchini and such. The flavor was great.

Great sushi! So fresh and big pieces as well. I got the MGM and wow! It was amazing. Great atmosphere, exellent service, a most try.

This thoughtfully orchestrated Asian restaurant specializes in sushi rolls (fried, oven baked and raw.) I prefer tempura rolls of some sort but went for something a bit unfamiliar this time trying The Red Bull with a thin slice of steak garnishment on top, the Heart Attack sushi in a slice of jalapeño shell with cream cheese, and The Green Bull (sushi roll with fried shrimp, cream cheese avocado, crab meat). All the dishes were beautifully displayed. I didn’t end up feeling stuffed which is common when I order at other restaraunts. However, I did feel a bit sluggish afterwards, which is common after dining in at any Asian restaraunt.
The waiter was personable, however, he didn’t smile. The hostess actually did impress me.
The portions were very decent. No complaints overall, except the children running around.
All in all I would probably go back for lunch.

I sure love my sushi and hadn’t tried Sushi Moon yet. So dinner it was! There were 5 of us (3 adults, 1 pre-​schooler, 1 teenager) when we walked in to a very busy (and beautifully decorated) dining room. The hostess was very friendly… But as soon as we were seated, that was the last good customer service we had.
Unlike any of the sushi places, they didn’t offer free miso, edamame, or salad as a starter. The entrees were also quite expensive, and frankly, this was not a very kid-​friendly place. However, when we did get our food (from our rather curt server), it was very good and unique.
I probably would only go back to Sushi Moon for a date night without kids if I didn’t have a very big appetite. It did have a very nice atmosphere; I just wish the service was a little more upbeat.

Amazing sushi and service ! The Sushi moon special is probably the best sushi I’ve had in awhile, popcorn lobster is amazing too, not a big fan of the wasabi mayo tho, first time we ordered it was good but they were heavy on the sauce this time, all I could taste was wasabi
Manager gave us little too much attitude when we told her we didn’t like the wasabi mayo, but they re made it
and later she made it super awkward and uncomfortable when she openly yelled at an employee instead of taking him to the back or something
But sushi is awesome here, I love the how it looks inside, and they always have some good music playing

Such a great find! Service is always awesome, thank you Stacy. Food comes out quick. The burning love roll is a must along with the spicy pork which is my favorite.

After hearing that the sushi restaurants were mediocre in Bako, and being really spoiled by all the awesome places in LA to have sushi, I was really thrilled by Sushi Moon. I thought the food was wonderful… particularly the salmon and yellowtail sushi. The pieces were HUGE and fresh. Wonderful large menu… and beautiful presentation. We also really liked the ahi tuna and seaweed appetizer salad. By bf liked his shrimp tempura appetizer and didn’t share. The atmosphere was open, a lot of natural light and very appealing. Definitely want to go back soon… This is my favorite sushi place out of the four places I’ve gone to in Bako so far… though Sushi Ko is a close second.

Upon arrival, we were told 10 – 15 min. Ok, it’s Saturday. 10 minutes later 4+ tables are open. Hostess tells us there are still no tables. Pardon? I see 4 open tables. I’ll be right back. And she takes off. When she finally comes back and we get a table. That’s why they get a 3.
The food us great presented well. Drinks are short filled and takes a bit to get a refill. Prices are good for the ambiance. Enjoyed the food.
