My favorite place to go. I love the chips and salsa and the tortas. I miss it when I’m away to college. The service is excellent too. They have never been rude to me. Only complaint would be that it’s to far of a drive from my house. I’ll admit I never pay attention to the prices though.

One of the better places w high quality asada. Tacos, tortas, sopes, are all good. Variety of food on menu. Looks like a dive restaurant, but good is good. Kids will love the nacho fries w asada.

This is best place in town for asada tacos! It’s in a bad area, but the tacos are soo good I keep going back again and again. Also the salsa is fantastic!

Menudo was ok, but took way to long to get it. Counter person needs to learn how to multi — task! Probably won’t go back!

Quick and Painless. On the way to Colorado from SC we needed a quick bite. This served the purpose and go us back on the road.

Been going about 5 years now. Great tacos, nachos and menudo is pretty good. Seen some bad reviews on ‘ambiance’ and service, I always order to pick up so can’t disagree but it’s a dive taco joint… Recipe for good mexican food = real mexican cooks + good ingredients + danger + barely acceptable level of cleanliness

Not the best area but the food is amazing you cant go wrong with the posole served hot and fresh with all the sides. big chunks of meat tender homony and seasoned perfectly.

Tonight I was craving Cheese Enchilladas and stopped in for their combination plate. At $ 10 plus tax you would think you were at El Adobe or Los. Molcajetes. But this is a dive restaruant that has priced their plates with higher competitors that have higher rents and mortgages and locations that require a pricer menu. Totally gouging the customer by being a divey property, divey interior, and less than stellar customer service. That was just talking about the overall impression about the cost and building. On to my meal… When my meal arrived the enchiladas were small but looked delicious. I took a bite and didn’t realize I was chewing on a piece of plastic because the cheese was so thick. However the plastic wasn’t breaking down like food, but breaking into pieces inside my mouth and cracked my tooth where I had a filling. I told thief employee who was unapologetic about it, and told me it was just a piece of the plastic from the sour cream squeezer.(Huh, it’s just what?) I’m not asking what it is. I clearly see what it is, and I’m sure I know how it got there! but why are you saying it’s just??? and do you realize I have a cracked tooth. She offered two options I eat the meal… didn’t even offer to replace it, not that that mattered I wanted to leave! Or she would refund my money. Of course I told her I’m entitled to a refund because this is unacceptable. I also mentioned again, my tooth. She told me that I would have to speak with the manager tomorrow, that was two days ago. I asked her if she was going to write up an incident report for her manager. She gave me a piece of paper and told me write down my name and number and she would have him call me back. I told her, there is no proof that this occurred. She assured me he’d call. Well it’s two days later, he hasn’t. So I’m going to get my tooth fixed and decided to post this. Am I being ridiculous? Nope! Absolutely terrible experience. Will never return.

Best horchata in the world! Plenty of menu items to choose from, but not overbearing — plus the meat selection is TDF!!! Love it!

Ok. I love their food. It would be a 5 star experience but the accompanying photo kicks it down a star. The huge build up of flies should probably be addressed. I ordered 3 carne asada street tacos and a small bowl of pazole. Both were excellent. The food here tastes like you are in Mexico. Service is pretty good too. But the flies…

:. Bakersfield, California .: This place is good. The carne asada torta was very tasty. Looks to be a fast food spot, but turns out to be a small restaurant. It’s humble, and doesn’t appear to be as good as it is, but they know how to cook. The service was okay. Price: Between 6 to 12 dollars per person. *Depending on what you order

This hole in the wall place has good food and it is fairly inexpensive. It is the only place of this type that gives you chips and salsa. I usually have the el pastor in some type of food. I have had it in tacos, nachos and burritos. The asada has been good too. They don’t seem to refill drinks though, otherwise maybe five stars from me. The people are very nice here, customers and employees alike. I recommend someone who has been going to La Villas or Tacos de Hueicho give it a try. I have been here at least ten times and have NEVER been approached by panhandlers or derelicts.

Even though the tortas are pretty good here, I have stopped going; mainly because of the service, it is absolutely terrible. I’m really big on service and this place is borderline rude. Another big reason that I stopped going to Los Altos is the fact that they have overcharged me several times. The ticket orders are written on a notepad and if you aren’t paying attention they scribble something on the ticket and charge you for stuff that you did not order. When I’ve confronted the waitress/owner(family owned business) she argues that I had indeed ordered it when I clearly had not, other times she’s apologized and says she’s made a mistake.

GOHERE. if you want cheap and DELICIOUS Mexican food. This is the spot. Great service, great prices, my new favorite place fairly close off the 99 freeway. This is a hole in the wall but such a well kept secret. Thank you Unilocal for letting me find this place!

I didn’t go here but my brother brought me 6 lengua tacos. And I enjoyed them. They were delicious. The meat was soft and tender. Very good! But my sisters fish tacos didnt look very appetizing. I recommend the tacos.

Good torta de asada at an affordable price. It was also a pretty big one. Took a bite from the taco de asada my son had and it was ok. Excellent customer service.

This place is GOLD finally another Mexican restaurant I can go to that’s actually good besides La Villa. I had pazole, a carne sope & a side of rice. The sope was too good! The beans were perfect & the meat tasted great! The pazole was good. B± The rice was just how I like it with the veggies in it. YUM I can’t properly rate the place though Cuz I forgot the dang hot sauce! A restaurant ain’t nothin unless it has bomb chili. I will get some next time.

This place has quickly become my favorite stop for Mexican food in Bakersfield. The asada tacos stand up against any in town. For .99 each, you can get a complete meal for a reasonable price. They’ll even bring chips and salsa to the table for a solo diner. Also recommended are their breakfast burritos. Not too many spots seem to include refried beans in their breakfast burritos, so this was a nice change of pace.
