Today Cleaners

Decent cleaning. Ironing is not always crisp and perfect. Price is very expensive. I was shocked when I got the bill the first time. Dry cleaning a men’s pant or shirt is $ 8.49 and basic washing and ironing of a dress shirt is $ 3.15! I was expecting $ 2.00 for washing and ironing of a shirt. $ 3.15 just seems excessive, especially for Bakersfield.

I regularly use this location to have my comforter cleaned. I really like that I can pull up & they will come out to my vehicle to take care of the rest. However, my most recent experience, last week, was NOT good. I picked up my comforter, took it home & put it on my bed, only to discover BLACK streaks & marks on my white comforter that were absolutely not there prior to its «cleaning». I called immediately & the managers response was they «can’t guarantee removal of all spots». I told her that was irrelevant because the spots where not there prior to me dropping it off. I told her it looked like it had gotten caught in their washing machine. She agreed to «Re-​Do» the comforter free of charge. Once I dropped it off, the attendant argued with me that it looked like a «pop up stain»… Because ya know stains on my white comforter can be invisible & once it’s cleaned out pops black stains! After getting it back after the second cleaning the black marks are almost all gone but some very faded marks still remain. I think we will find a new place to go!

In by 11a, out by 4p! Granted I don’t dry clean a lot of my clothes, & have never given them anything «tricky» but I really have no complaints because they do stick by that policy, my clothes have come back clean, and they’re generally pretty friendly. It is a little more expensive that other places that I’ve been to out of town, and they don’t have an in-​shop tailor (again, like other places I’ve been to out of town). It’ll do for now!

The last 2 suits I’ve taken here have not been cleaned. The first one I didn’t notice until I took the plastic off 3 days later when I went to wear it. The 2^nd one I inspected before leaving and found that spots from the coffee that was spilled on it were still there. It looks like they just pressed it. I pointed it out and the Asst Manager, Misch or however she spelled it, told me that they don’t guarantee spot removal. I pointed out that there was lint all over it and doesn’t even look like it was cleaned. She told me all she could do was clean it again but I couldn’t pick it up today because it was after 11:00. It was 11:15. She also tried to charge me $ 17 in which I replied that I’ve never paid over $ 14. Not that $ 3 is a big deal but clean it for Christ sake. Never going back to these incompetent employees ever again. Wish I could give it ZERO stars.

Well, turns out the hole I had in my pant leg wasn’t the only thing wrong. I went to get a couple suits tailored and one of them I brought with me was the same suit I brought to Today Cleaners months ago (where they ruined my pants). The Tailor notices a similar hole in the suit jacket. I couldn’t believe it. Perfectly good suit ruined by Today Cleaners. it’s too late to dispute it now. Guess I’ll just have to eat it and and pay more attention next time. No more Today Cleaners on Coffee Rd for my expensive clothing.
