Came here while we put gas in our car. Was craving their fries. They were fresh, but the oil wasn’t. Fries had a different taste in them.

You know what? I’m gonna be real with you. When I want a hamburger, I want Tommie’s. In my typical daily life I don’t eat meat(especially not red meat) but once a year, usually in the summer, I just want a damn hamburger. You know the kind I’m talking about, too. That thinnish patty, shredded iceberg lettuce, American cheese that’s all perfectly melted, good tomato, and thousand island. Tommie’s does it right. This burger is like taking a bite out of 1955(but without all of the horrible societal standards and systemic racism, sexism, and bigotry!!) so it’s basically nothing like 1955 except for the hamburger. And the fries. Oh my good lord, the fries. Thick cut fries freshly fried to perfection and sprinkled with seasoning salt. Get them with a side of ranch, you will not be let down. Important to note is that their ranch isn’t hidden valley garbage, but homestyle ranch that you kind of wanna glob on everything in your weakest moments. Anyway, Tommie’s is the best and is seriously underrated. My once-a-year burger craving has been fully satisfied today. Thank you, Tommie’s.

There is nothing really famous about this famous hamburger place. We should have known better since it was empty when we walked in. I ordered the chill cheese onion dog, and a cheeseburger. After about 10 minutes my food came out and my family’s food. My mother in-law’a fries where cold and my hamburger was cold and nasty as well. The hamburger was microwaved, very skinny, and my bun was hard. I returned it for a refund. My chilli dog was just ok, but mid way through my stomach started to hurt, so I didn’t finish. I don’t suggest this place if you stop at the gas station, your better of getting a gas station made hot dog.

Having to give 1 star because it wouldn’t let me post this, but didn’t plan on putting any. I usually or hardly ever have issues but today just topped it. My boyfriend went to get us lunch, I ordered a bacon & avacado cheese burger, no onions & tomatoes. He orders the breakfast sausage crescent. We get home, & look at our meal was completely wrong. My cheese burger had tomatoes, & onions. I didn’t realize the onions where there until about half way threw it, but the fact is it was on the burger. The sausage crescent didn’t have a sausage on it, so he drove back to get it fixed, while there he checked it again & no cheese. I just don’t understand how hard it is to make the most simplest things. They weren’t busy. There is usually one cook & one cashier maybe 2 but even then, ridiculous.

I always like to go to the Tommie’s in the mall and had never tried this location because I am never really in this part of town. When I happen to have an event not to far away, I knew I had to try them out. A teriyaki chicken sandwich sounded amazing! Another plus is that they have a drive-thru which is convenient. It really didn’t take long at all to get my order and the quality of my sandwich was just as good as the one I get at the mall. I am happy that I had a chance to try this one out. Anytime I am in the area, I now know that I will have to make a special trip to Tommie’s.

Every time I go to Bakersfield I have to stop in at Tommie’s. This location is connected to a gas station. We always do the drive-thru here. It seemed a bit slow, but the food didn’t disappoint. I had the double chili burger, and it was awesome. Chili and cheese oozing out of the double-burger patty. Burger patties were juicy and very flavorful. The pickles and mustard just add to the flavor profiles. Simple, yet extremely enjoyable.

I’ll make this simple, a tiny little burger for $ 8 w/fries and a drink is a JOKE. I barely received any fries in the first place… Though they were cooked well, I just don’t care for that style of fry, it stays scalding hot in the middle and surprises your mouth with burns. I couldn’t stand the burger, i mean it wasn’t terrible, but it was super small and for $ 7 and change??? I will never return to this place. The lady at the drive through window was extremely nice, that’s mostly part of the given star.

I love Tommie’s near me so when I had to travel up north I stopped at the one in Bakersfield on White Lane, right off the 99. It was great. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with chili cheese fries. I asked them to grill the onions and to add pickles and avocado(it comes with tomato and lettuce). When I got my food, the bun was toasted and hot off the grill, the cheese was melted on the meat and the burger was juicy and delicious. They use those large steak fries and season them with a seasoned salt, and they were covered in a thick, delicious chili which was not too spicy but not pasty and bland like other burger places. The girl that helped me was very friendly and the place was clean. I will stop there again when I travel north.

I don’t know Tommie’s from Tommy’s but this was recommended by the people at Ronka’s Underground Skatepark down the road. $ 7.75 seemed a little bit much for a cheeseburger combo, but I figured it would be okay. They had some sign out the window saying $ 3.99 for some cheeseburger/drink combo, I think. The person behind the register was friendly, and I asked if they had mayonnaise when she asked if I wanted everything. They use Thousand Island dressing, similar to Big Mac sauce or the Spread at In-n-Out. Yuck. That was subtracted. It took a while for the food. The sandwich came with steak fries. The burger was lukewarm but tasted fresh. The fries were old-ish, with seasoning salt. It wasn’t bad but a little bit more attention to it would have helped. The burger was not dry without the dressing, but not greasy either. As part of the filling station building, it had a reasonable dining room. It wasn’t clean but it wasn’t nasty, either.

I am a fan of Tommie’s burgers. I eat semi often at the«Burbank» and«Huntington Beach» locations. I was on the way to central california and decided to make a pit stop there to have my favorite chili burgers and chili cheese fries. And boy it was a big mistake!!! This restaurant sure is a try hard knock off of the original Tommy’s. First, the restaurant was empty, i was the only customer and i had to wait few minutes before somebody decided to come take my order. Although i was the only customer, I took 15 min for my order to be done. All the tables were dirty and the place smelled a little like urine smell. After the food finally made it, the burger was swimming in the chili and was hard to eat. The fries were disgusting. I could totally tell they were fried before and refried again hence soaking with oil. To make a long story short i ate a quarter of my order, dumped it in the trash and left. 4HOURSLATER, MYSTOMACHSTARTEDBUBBLINGANDHADTHERUNSALLNIGHT!!! I never had remotely close experience at the other Tommy’s locations i mentioned above.

I have eaten at this place several times. The food is okay and is expensive for what it is. For the money you pay you would think the customer service would be better. However, it is awful and the supervisor Belinda sucks. I went tonight and they messed up my drive thru order. I called to let them know I would be back to pick up the hot dog they forgot. When I got there they pretended like I never called and waited for me to be there before they could make my hot dog. She didn’t even apologize for the mishap. The other woman was on her phone texting. They were not busy. This is not the first time they have messed up my order and this is the last time as I will not be coming back EVER! Save the headache and just go to the real Tommie’s in the mall :)

I tried Tommie’s because I mistook it for Tommy’s original from LA. It is not the same although the chili is a reasonable knock off. The hamburger patty was the thinnest I have ever seen. Had there been more meat it may have been an acceptable substitute but as is it is an embarrassment. However if you are a fan of seasoned steak fries they are very good and you get a generous portion.

So I’ve been craving Tommie’s chili cheeseburgers since I moved here from LA. HUGEMISTAKEORDERINGHERE! Not only did I pay $ 14 something for food, but for disgusting rubber hamburger meat and chili with no flavor! Ugh!!! Plus me and my boyfriend waited about 10min in line for our food– cmon! It was empty inside and there was no line. Horrible food & bad service! I’ll stick to the Tommie’s out in LA.

Hubby is a burger fanatic and we were in the area — so there ya go, we came here. We both had a single burger, no fries, no sides. I will admit the fries at another table looked good though, wedge style. Staff could have been friendlier but hey. They made our burgers right — no sauce(thousand island, ick) and extra veg on mine. YUM. Fresh onion, lettuce, tomato. And red tomatoes, not green. Ketchup upon request.(packaged) You wait a few minutes but it is worth it. Tastes like someone grilled it for you at a BBQ and handed it to you. Tasted not at all greasy, and was filling enough to last us a few hours. It is attached to a gas station but has its own door. Very clean inside and a decent amount of seating. I saw a drive thru. Would return.

Need more friendly drive thru help. Took about 15 mins to get to the window and waited about 5 for my order. Jackie, the«attendant» was just that, not friendly, no smile or hello. Robots have more personality. She did offer catsup, so that was nice. Place looks run down, needs paint, drive thru looks dirty. Fries were hot and fresh, steak cut and tasty. Chili burger was hot and fresh, a little too much mustard for my liking but still good. Vines brand catsup? Weird but not terrible I guess. Maybe spend the extra couple bucks on a trust worthy brand, but whatever. Summary — Not a bad meal, a bit expensive for fast food. Fries were the best part of the meal. I might go back again, but not soon.

Up until tonight, this has been a family highlight. What can I say, I love their fries. The sign says closes at 9:00 so I was glad it was 8:58 when we walked in. We live 3 hours away and deviate off the 5 whenever we stop here. The staff turned us away, despite us explaining that it wasn’t nine and watching them shut off the fryer. Sad, I guess all good things must come to an end. Definitely not wasting 40 mins again:(

Don’t bother going there. It’s NOT The Original Tommy’s Hamburgers. Just copy and a BAD one at that! If you don’t see the shack; Take it back!

The signage was good, but we got a little confused about how to get inside. It is part of the gas station, located in the same building as the mini-mart and we weren’t sure whether to enter through the convenience store or if there was another entrance. We finally found the door to the outside around the left side, but as it turns out we could have entered through the convenience store also. The burger was good. I ordered mine with cheese, chopped onions(raw), and smothered in chili. The chili was good — appeared to be all meat and no beans, but not particularly spicy. I prefer my chili turned up to the level that leaves me wondering if it will cause me some permanent damage to my mouth or inner workings someday. The star of the show were the fries. These are no wimpy fast food thinly sliced fries — you know the type that you get at most other burger joints. These were thick slabs of fries with crispy outsides and moist and chewy insides. They are covered with a seasoning that is both salty and sweet at the same time. I couldn’t place the spices in the seasoning blend or what produced that elusive sweetness. I did, however discover that even though the very generous order of fries came sprinkled with this savory pixie dust, that they had a large shaker full of it at the counter so that you could liberally apply more. Interestingly, though, they had the shaker chained down to the counter. Afraid someone would ‘liberate” it and take it home with them, perhaps? This place has good solid burgers and the best fries I’ve had at a fast food burger joint. I approve!

When you’re in the mood to snack on some good seasoned steak fries before you head out of town i recommend stopping by this location. It has a convenient drive-thru unlike the other location in the mall. Don’t make the mistake of ordering two large fries. One large will be more than enough for two people. Though the wait for us was rather long, i wondered if they had to ask the chevron employees to get back in the kitchen, they were fresh from the hot fryer and the price was just right.
