Bald Head Island Country Club

I’ve been coming to BHIC for around 10 years and it’s always I nice place to relax for a meal. The waiters and waitresses are absolutely delightful and very accommodating — I drink so much water that they brought me a larger glass! That being said, I hesitate to give a 5 because the menu has gotten smaller and I’ve had a couple of experiences with less than polite employees (to put it nicely).

Another great bald head island spot, the BHI Club is a classic. Met many friendly staff over the years, enjoyed the pool, the pelicatessen, the golf shop, the driving range, the gym, the holiday buffet style parties, and the restaurant. Had my first bleu cheese filet here when I was 15 or 16 — delish. This past week we went for lunch and enjoyed a steak sandwich and a crab sandwich. Both were amazing! We also demolished some kind of chocolate brownie with ice cream. Yum.

Great service, inspired food. The vodka martini’s with blue cheese stuffed olives were OFF.THE.CHARTS.

When vacationing on Bald Head, you can get a temporary membership to the club for the duration of your stay with many of the rentals. If you have the opportunity, take advantage of it! The membership provides you with acess to an elegant, laid back and charming club.
The club has typical country club amenenties. A golf course, pool and clubhouse. They also offer tennis and even croquet! If you want to play croquet, you have to wear all white, so pack accordingly.
The pool is crystal clear, warm and inviting. There is even a small slide for children 10 and under. Lounge chairs and umbrellas line the deck and at least in the off season (end of September) it was pretty quiet. Adjacent to the pool is a splash pad and playground for the kids. Our nieces and nephews had a blast there. While at the pool, you can order food and drinks from the adjacent Pelicatessan.
The clubhouse offers a more casual/​bar setting where you can order from two different menus and the grill restaurant which is more formal. Both offer top notch food and service. Drink and food prices are high, but they are about what you would expect at a private club or any nicer restaurant.
I highly recommend a visit to the Bald Head Island Club. You will enjoy the luxurious treatment and extremely and attentive service.

I attended an event at the BHI Country Club over the weekend. The food and beverages were spot on, as was the service. The grounds and the facilities are absolutely gorgeous. They are certainly well equipped for having all sorts of events, from informal brunches to formal dinner parties and wedding receptions.

This club is the epitome of laid-​back Southern elegance. They have everything you could possible need for a beautiful beach vacation. The golf course has recently undergone renovation, the pool and tennis courts are first-​rate, the pro shop has the latest in BHI golf fashion and the restaurants turn out perfectly cooked meals. It really is a one-​stop shop, if you will. It has something for everyone in your family to do!
