Glad we have an authentic Phở place close to home. Phở noodles with chicken(Phở Ga) is very flavorful and good amount of chicken breast. I also liked the crispy egg noodle with meat and veggies. The beef was cooked tender. The service was kind of slow, but I give them 5 stars for effort and yummy food because you can tell it’s a family owned business. Also, the businesses in the area don’t quite make it for more than several months so I’m pulling for this place to work out.

I decided to try this place because it was close to my house and it has«5 stars» on Unilocal. The first time I had this place was pretty decent. The food was alright. I was kinda disappointed that they had to use the microwave the warm up some parts of the food. It’s sad that the food was pretty pricy and they give you a small portion of the food. $ 8.50 for a small serving of vermicelli? I was still hungry after eating my food. We had to get more food after. It is also weird that there restroom is outdoors… what kind of restaurant has restrooms outdoors? We also order take out and they forgot our order. We waited for it about 30 minutes for so little food. I don’t think I’ll ever come back here expensive food when I get it else where for more.

Such nice service. Very friendly. The soup base for their phở is delicious – slightly sweet and very clean. Had the veggie phở which came with lots of Bok Choy, broccoli, carrots and fried tofu puffs. Ordered the chicken and shrimp flat noodles to go and mom liked it. Would go back to try their other phos.

This place has great food! I had the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and it is delicious. I highly recommend it. The staff are very nice and it definitely has the family owned restaurant feel. For vegetarians, there is a vegetable phở, but I wish that there were more vegetarian items on the menu.

If you’re looking for a bite to eat in Baldwin Park and don’t feel like Mexican, Red Top Kitchen is definitely a good alternative. Whenever I go to a place that serves Phở, I always order their special. Enter the Red Top Special Phở. Available in either a regular size or a large, I opted for a regular not knowing how big the portions were. The regular size was a good amount — it came with a generous amount of meat and was reasonably priced at $ 5.95. What I especially liked was how flavorful the soup was. For a place that had about 10 tables inside, it definitely had a lot of TVs — I counted 3! As a lot of Unilocalers mentioned, this place definitely felt like a family operation. I enjoyed the homely feel. Credit cards are accepted and parking, though not brightly lit, is plentiful.

**4.5 stars This is a mom and pop shop which is located in Plaza Del Sol right next to the family dental office! The staffs are very friendly family owned. Came here on a Monday night and were able to be seated right away. What I ordered: Red Top Special(dac biet) 2 spring rolls(goi cuon) Beef grilled meat combo(com thit) Thai iced tea The Red Top Special comes with sliced steak, brisket, flank, tendon and tripe. The soup base tasted great! That is always the first thing I do whenever I order phở! Soup is key which either makes it or breaks it! But you can always add extra flavor which I like to add in my own special ingredients just to give more flavor to my liking like(hoi seen sauce and a little of Sriracha for some kick). They give bean sprouts, jalapeño, and mint leaves on the side which you can add in your bowl of phở! As for the 2 Spring Rolls, they were very delicious with the peanut sauce. It has broiled pork, shrimp, lettuce and thin rice noodles rolled in traditional rice paper. I wished they added the egg roll skin inside to give it a hint of crunchiness! My boyfriend ordered the Beef Grilled Meat Combo. You can choose your choice of either beef, pork, or chicken which is served with a side of rice and fermented salad with a fried egg and egg rolls. When the dish came out, the meat gave me that«sad look» because they served such a small portion of meat. It felt like a lunch special when we dined in for dinner. Don’t get me wrong, the meat was pretty tasty, but just the portion was pretty small and depressing to look at. They also have outdoor seating. Overall, I would suggest to hire someone as a server since I believe the person who took our order could be my uncle/dad who had to repeat our order 4 – 5 times throughout the whole time. He reminded me of my mom, English is ok, but still needs work. It’s ok to repeat at least twice, but asking for more than 2 is a bit annoying. Just a suggestion to make!

I’ve been going here for a while now and every single time I’ve come, I have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. The phở is always delicious. Better than almost all of the other places I’ve tried phở at. Their Beef Platter is amazing and mouth-watering. Their lemonade and Vietnamese Iced Coffee are always yummy. The interior is very homey and can accommodate a surprising amount of people(for it being a small place). The service is always good and they are always polite and attentive. Overall, this place is a great addition to the Baldwin Park area and showcases some of the best food the city has to offer. 10⁄10 would recommend to out-of-towners and locals alike.

Phở is ok. There’s better phở options in the sgv & orange county but if you don’t want to drive far then this place will do. Broth was lacking & portion seemed small compared to other viet spots. Clean family run restaurant though. I don’t think I’ll be back… I’m Vietnamese so yes I know my phở!

Not a fancy place but simplicity of food definitely deserves 5-stars! Found this place via Unilocal and saw many 5 stars reviews for this place. Wonder if it’s really that good! Well indeed it is! A bowl of Phở Steak($ 5.95-regular) ~ Soup is clear, not oily, very flavorful ~ Generous amount of meat ~ Reasonably-priced Spring roll($ 3.50 for 2 pieces) ~ Fresh and refreshing Very reasonable prices with quality food and service!

They now have OUTDOORSEATING! This place just keeps getting better. They accommodate your taste/diet in anyway. Nothing is too much to request and they never fall short to meet expectations or quality. Today… Shaken Beef – no rice, veggies and salad, please! Definitely try the Passion Fruit drink. You’ll never not order it again!

Great place with great food. The place opened about November 2015 and I finally got a chance to eat here. The prices are great, everything is about 6 to 8 dollars. Quantity is decent and the owners are super friendly. Great time to see more local businesses open in Baldwin Park!

I am seriously so happy this place exists. Red Top Kitchen is one of my favorite places to hang out, relax, and eat great food. And to top it off, it’s right in my neighborhood, which is super cool because there’s not a lot of phở restaurants in BP. The customer service is excellent and everyone is so very polite, friendly, and attentive to their customers. My favorite dish to order is the steak and brisket phở. The broth is always very flavorful. And the other dishes they serve are great as well.(My sister ordered shaken beef fried rice and it was super yummy). I highly recommend Red Top Kitchen to anyone who’s in the neighborhood. It’s one of the best phở places around, and I can’t wait to go again and again and again :)

My bf showed me this place and told me I would love this place and honestly, this is my favorite phở shop ever. I have my favorite phở shop in LA, but this beats it 10x. The prices are so cheap for such great quality phở, I haven’t seen prices like theirs in so long… I wish they were closer to me. :(We ordered the half order of Eggrolls, Shaken beef, and Beef Brisket Phở. First off, I seriously love how I was able to order a half order of Eggrolls, because most places force you to either order one whole order or don’t order it at all. So thank you for that. The Shaken beef had soooo much flavor and their rice was sooo yummy. Everything was just great. The phở tasted so authentic and homemade and the place itself felt very home-y. Also, the woman who was serving us was the sweetest server ever! She was so attentive and friendly, which made my experience so much better. Whenever I’m around the area, I’ll definitely find a reason to dine here again. Also, i’m not sure if they have the promo but they gave free soft drink or ice cream when you dine in! I got the ice cream, it was sooooo gooood :)

This is really a pretty great phở restaurant, especially considering the area. You’re minutes away from Arcadia and West Covina, which both have a handful of good phở houses, but Red Top is easily my favorite. This place serves absolutely fantastic phở. I’ve stopped in multiple times, and each time the broth has been delicious and full. Service has been consistently excellent as well. Soup practically flies out of the kitchen once your order is in, and if you’re a heavy(water) drinker like I am, you don’t need to worry about refills because the servers are always on it. You really are treated like family here — there’s a sense of personality that small businesses like this have that most big chain restaurants lack. Red Top has become the standard by which I judge all other phở restaurants and I always look forward to coming in whenever I’m in the area.

Excellent hole in the wall, family owned Phở shop. The service was quick, and the soup was incredibly flavorful without being too salty. The phở was very lean in both the meat and the broth. The spring rolls were fresh and the textures were perfect. I didn’t get parched after eating here, which was a good sign that there wasn’t too much sodium or MSG. Red Top is clean, well maintained, and very no frills. Definitely good value and portions.

This place is actually really good! They gave you a lot of beef with little to no fat and the Large soup is humongous !!! My fiancé and I were able to share a bowl and still couldn’t finish it! The spring rolls are also great! They actually put fresh pork beef and not the dried up crunchy one that sometimes tastes iffy. We will definitely be coming back to this spot when in the area and craving some Delicious Phở!

LITERALLYBESTSERVICEEVER! My boyfriend recently discovered phở and has been wanting to try different places for phở. I’m a lot more picky when it comes to phở because the last time I went out for phở was probably when I was 10. I’m 19 now and lived off my mother’s phở for 9 years. I was yet to find a place that could top hers. Why spend $ 8 on a bowl when you can have Momma Cao make you some right? We decided to dine here because my old high school was around the corner. It used to be a bunch of different shops, but now it’s a family run phở restaurant. Our waitress was an older Vietnamese lady and she was super sweet! I ordered in Vietnamese for her to save her the trouble. The food arrived quickly and it was amazing. We ordered: — 2 Phở Tai The food was fresh and there was plenty of meat. I notice that at a lot of phở restaurant, they try to cheat you out of your share of food, but this place doesn’t. Everything was delivered to our table and our waitress kept an eye on our water cups. Water is very important to us and if we could, we’d ask for a pitcher at our table. It saves the servers time, walking back and forth all the time. The meal was amazing and I plan to come back soon! P. S. Red Top Kitchen doesn’t beat out my mother’s phở, but I’d say they’re tie.

Came in on a random weekday with my dad and we left feeling super satisfied. Had high expectations for this place after reading some stellar reviews. We were immediately greeted and given the menus. Both the owner and the waitress were accommodating and friendly :’). Ordered a Thai iced tea with boba, two spring rolls, seafood phở for my dad, and the Tri combo phở for me(steak, brisket, and tendon). Their waters come in cute mason jars which I love! None of those plastic glasses here like you usually see at Vietnamese restaurants. The broth for my phở was very flavourful. Soup temperature was A+. I didn’t end up finishing my bowl and that was a regular size! My dad had the large seafood phở since he can’t have beef. The broth was light and seasoned perfectly. He told me he’ll definitely order a regular sized bowl of phở next time because the large was too much for him. I don’t know about that but my dad is usually the type who devours all his phở even if it is a bigger bowl. Maybe he’s just getting older? Hah. Oh, life. Glad we gave this place a shot. I’ll most likely be coming back here again if I’m ever in the area again. Plenty of parking available, friendly workers, A+ phở.
