Ayhan’s is a chain of Mediterranean restaurants in Nassau County. The menu features all of the typical items you find at most greek restaurants on Long Island. The food isn’t spectacular. I found this rice to be too buttery, the meat not crispy enough, and the tzatziki sauce to be a little bland. Nevertheless, the food is fairly priced and the service is friendly as well as attentive. It’s a satisfactory option in the area, but you can find some better options if you are able to drive about 20 minutes.

Had the pick two dinner special. Seafood kabob and the chicken gyro. Came with rice and veggies. Food was delicious and fresh! The bread and garlic sauce they give you with the meal are amazing! I ended up with a doggie bag for home. I also brought home an order of baklava, I enjoyed that as well. The young waitress was a pleasure. I will be returning.

Ate here ONCE like 6 years ago. Got some chicken & rice dish. The chicken bits were 100% dried out — as if they were going to be tossed into the garbage. Totally horrible. I cannot believe this place is still here. Empty on Friday and Saturday nights as I can see. Always a bad sign.

Went in because of the brunch ad on their website. They gave me a totally different menu which was way more expensive! The waitress said she could not honor the offer or even give any other accommodation and said she could not get the manager. We walked out!

I went here on a rainy Sunday for a large family dinner in celebration of my great Uncle’s 95th birthday. Unfortunately this place wasn’t worth of hosting such an auspicious occasion. I realize that having a large group presents logistical problems for a lot of establishments, but we did call ahead by a few days and let them know we were coming with a large group. The service was still slower than molasses running uphill in January. [old saying from Nana] It took forever to place our order, even longer to get the food. And by the time most of the dishes came out, half of them were cold. The salads that came with the meals were also exceedingly sub-par. The lettuce was brown or old and completely drenched in dressing. I ordered the kofta and it was an overly charred, flavorless lumps. My brother, who got the falafel, said they were dry, hard and crunchy. My cousin who ordered the lamb shank, had high praises for that dish, but he was definitely in the minority. The one saving grace were the dessert sampler platters we received. The baklava was delicious. It was the only part of the meal that made me smile. Avoid this flavorless trap. I beg of you.

Do it, go inside. The owners and even the waitstaff are all super friendly, wonderful people. Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been delicious. From the gyro platters, to the lamb burgers has been amazing. The only thing I would say is that I used to absolutely love their hummus, but I got an order for takeout last week and it wasn’t really as great as I remembered, it was a bit too creamy for my taste. I did really used to love it, though. And everything else was still delicious. My family and I will return. :)

I went with my wife and our friends to Ayhans yesterday for brunch. The restaurant is clean and airy and quite attractive. The restaurants manager Sam is very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a special brunch which included a appetizer, main course and dessert. My appetizer a meat pie was very good but a bit small. The main course of gyro was very good but may have had too much garlic in it. My dessert of chocolate mousse was very good but quite small. The other diners around me reported similar experiences as me very good food but a bit small on the portions. Service was excellent and very responsive. The price to value ratio is about average for this type of restaurant. All in all this was a very good experience and I look forward to returning in the near future.

This Restaurant has really gone down in quality as of late. Firstly, the food is just ok, at this point in time. They did away with the Sunday Buffet Brunch which was a disappointment to all of my family and friends. The portions are ridiculously small and overpriced for what you receive. They obviously scaled back to improve their bottom line and it shows. It’s sad. The Manager contacted us vie email(probably told to by corporate after I’d written to them) was touting their«new menu coming soon for our new delicious 3 course Sunday brunch»). Never followed up with us to inform us of when it was going to be. Guess he forgot. We’ve been coming here for almost 9 years. Unfortunately, it’s over,

My family loves this place, it’s a go-to pretty often for us. Excellent salads, grilled fish, octopus, soups, hummus and baba ghanoush. Falafel is good, lamb entrees, baklava, Turkish coffee… The menu is huge and I’ve never had something that wasn’t delicious. The main guy always high fives me and my sister when we come, he’s real friendly. There’s a little extra comfort when you actually know and like who you are patronizing.

Went 2 or 3 months ago for dinner. Me, wife, and 3 kids. Simple orders. Many empty tables, yet we had to wait almost an hour before food was served. My gyro felt like it was re-heated left over from last night or earlier. The salmon was good. The mixed kebab plate was not big enough, but tasted good. Overall, it seemed like no one cared about customer service, and food was just so so. Very disappointed in the gyro though. Ambiance was meh.

I’m actually kind of surprised by the mediocre reviews I’m seeing here. I’ve been to this Ayhan’s several times, and I’ve always walked out very full and very happy. I usually get either the salmon or the salmon shish kebab. Incredibly delicious charcoal taste. A ton of rice on the side, veggies, and soup or salad. Oh… and I left out the wonderful bread that they put on the table with some kind of yogurt sauce or whatever it is. Yum! One more thing… I had a question once, and the manager helped me out. Very friendly, lovely man.

I used to love this place. The food still is delicious… but the service is awful. We were there this weekend and our server failed to return with our drinks, failed to bring bread and dip, failed to take our food orders, left orders on the table’s edge instead of putting the meals in front of us, failed to bring us extra sauce for which we asked, brought 1 take-home container for several meals, brought 1 bag for several generations that did not live together. I do not foresee returning.

I have had lunch here several times. I usually use coupons that the restaurant sends to my email. The lunch specials that I received by email are good. The lunch special are lamb gyro, chicken gyro, chicken kebab, bbq chicken and angus burger. It comes with a soup or salad for $ 6.99 not bad.

I’ve been to this place about three times and I can never say that I enjoy it but in the past I’ve never really had anything to complain about either. Well, I went back yesterday(members of my family love this place) and I can finally say that they gave me plenty to complain about it and I won’t be going back. First off all, the brunch buffet is mediocre at best serving an unfocused spread… you can’t really tell it’s a Mediterranean spread… it looks like whatever they had left in the kitchen. The signs next to each mystery salad are up… but only sometimes and on some dishes so it’s a real guessing game. Nothing tastes great, so it’s ok… Secondly, service is very bad. I asked for a bloody mary and a glass of ice water upon arriving. I received a very bad tasting bloody mary and had a few others at the table taste it just to make sure I wasn’t being picky. It was very sour and unpleasant. After telling the waitress, she said«ok» and left it there… and returned with my glass of water about 2 hours later despite my multiple requests. I know we had a big part, but it’s a glass of water(no, everyone doesn’t automatically get one). Lastly, the restaurant appears dirty with hanging plants that make you feel like something will fall into your food and plates that look like they were bought after going through Hurricane Sandy. The slow decline of this once ok restaurant has now become accelerated. The icing on the cake at the end of the meal was the extra mystery drinks that were added onto our bill and then removed when we inquired as to what they were(11 drinks at a table of 6 people… didn’t happen). If you go, check your bills but I’d say just skip it.(The Rockville Center location is just a little better).

I visited this restaurant with a friend who had recommended it(or had at least heard about it and wanted to give it a try). Normally I steer clear of 2.5 rated Unilocal restaurants but in this case I ignored my gut feeling. First impressions of the place was dollar store decorations as another Unilocaler put it. Appetizers: spinach pie(actually tasted pretty good) Calamari(the waiter forgot all about it so, no comment) other than forgetfulness. Main courses: Mine: whole tilapia which tasted disgusting and not edible by any means(the skeletal bones were already fallen apart and it was a safety issue to even attempt to eat). Too many bones to risk it. While digging through it, I found a long hair embedded inside the fish. I sent it back and the waiter apologized and took it off the bill. The lentil soup was horrible, bland with no taste. Hers: flounder roll. It actually didn’t taste too bad but was ice cold in the center which would indicate that it’s frozen food. I would then have to assume that most things here are from frozen. As paying customers, we don’t expect to be served frozen meals. The place was very dirty, the shelf next to our table had syrup rings on it and they had menus covering the windows like shades or decorations. Utensils were dirty, my seat was broken and something floating in my water. I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like. This was a very poor low end dining experience for me. 0 stars as far as I’m concerned on many levels. Attention Management, Please read your reviews and DOBETTER!
