I’ve been going to this doctor for about 8yrs and have nothing but good things. When you make an appointment expect to wait a while. The bad part about having a good doctor is that he’s going to busy.

I have been going to Dr. Shoenfeld for over a decade. He is an awesome doctor — friendly, patient and caring. He has stayed after closing hours to fit me in. His office is crowded and you tend to wait, but I think that is because he never turns anyone away. If you call because you are sick, they will ALWAYS fit you in. His diagnosis is always spot on. He will also refer you to a specialist if he believes you need it. I disagree with the first review as the front desk staff has always been wonderful to my family.

I would have preferred to email this directly to the doctor rather than post publicly, but it’s impossible to find the email address for the doctor and it seems that I can’t reach him other than through the same person I’m Unilocaling about so here goes: The front desk staff is horrendous. I couldn’t even get in to see the doctor. I needed proof of immunization against measles and mumps for my university. That’s ALL. I took time off from work to come in with the form I needed filled out, as they won’t allow me to register without this, and registration closes tomorrow. When I first approached the counter, I simply wanted to let the receptionist know why I was there. I tried to show her the form as an explanation of what I needed, as maybe they don’t see this every single day of the year. Instead of listening and trying to understand my needs, she began lecturing me «YOUHAVETOFILLTHISFORMOUT! WEWON’T TOUCH A BLANKFORM!» um, ok, that’s great if you are training a new nurse, but I’m a customer just trying to show you what I need. The form filling out can come later, yes? Then I did fill out the form. She tried to look up my record even though I stated that I would need to be immunized as there’s no way he has a record of my already having been vaccinated, I had that as a child in another state and don’t have the records. She didn’t listen. She then said that she couldn’t find the record, yes, that’s what I had said, while I’ve seen the doctor before for other matters, he would have no record of any immunization. She stated that I would have to have a physical too, while the form clearly stated that the physical was only RECOMMENDED and even that was only for incoming freshmen students. I told her I was a graduate student, and I did not want a physical, just immunization. She then said it would take several days and that they had to take titers(again, I’m not a nurse, please communicate in plain english why you can’t help me.) I walked out and will not return, due to the rude service. When I called the university they said I could just come in person and they would immunize me, so that’s what I will do. Was hoping to take advantage of the proximity of the doctor’s office, however, as it’s just down the street. To sum up: Please hire nicer staff. There is no call at all for such rudeness, hectoring and short temper, particularly so early in the morning. I don’t know why this person demanded that I fill the form out before she would even look at it, when in the end, I didn’t get any treatment anyway — waste of my time. And she misread the requirement for a physical, which is scary. The professionalism of the front desk staff is, unfortunately, a reflection on the doctor. The one thing she did do right was get this done reasonably quickly, thanks for that.
