Palmisano’s has an amazing vegetarian sub that features great cheese, peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, and a special italian dressing that is out of this world. It’s located not far from Gunpowder State Park and Kingsville Park. It’s such a treat to get a fresh sandwich and take a nice walk in the park. Once you find a good spot you can have a nice picnic. Palmisano’s features a large menu with some popular favorites such as cheesesteak subs, salads, pizza, and mozzarella sticks. As a vegetarian, I have tried their salads and mozzarella sticks and can vouch that they are both excellent. Insider tip: This place is set up for carry-out. They do have a few tables where you can eat, but it’s mostly grab and go. Inside the place is set up like a deli and they carry a few grocery items such as milk, fresh cheeses, tomato sauce, chips, cookies, and soda. If you are in the area and need a quality bite, be sure to stop here.

Time and again, Palmisano’s delivers great quality subs! I am shocked to see the other reviews on this page. I’ve been coming here for years and have yet to be disappointed! This place is so good that I make the drive from Perry Hall just to get a taste! So much taste! Of special note and probably my favorite, is the Italian cold cut. From the first crack of crust to the intoxicating aroma of the fresh cheeses, this sub will have you begging for more. The delicate salami is never overpowering and just enough to remind you of it’s presence as it plays peek-a-boo with the inside of your mouth. If, nay, when you order this signature classic you will be singing the praises of this place as you should be. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the cheese steak offering. I have found they create the right mix of cheese, onions, and hots to allow you full enjoyment of this truly inspiring delight. This delicate balance is truly crucial to the Palmisano’s experience. Of special note is the outdoor seating area. This is a great place to enjoy on a cool Summer evening. I hope you will come here and give it a whirl. Before you do, please prepare your taste buds accordingly for they will experience true taste overload! Game on.

First time costumer from this place, I don’t write a lot of reviews but this is one worth writing. Item 1: pizza cheese steak hoagie — paid $ 16.10 for a foot long sub, the bun had a stale test and was soggy(like it was dunked in a glass of water). The steak was cheap and overcooked and had no taste plus the portion size was for an 8 year old. Peppers onions mushrooms again not very tasty. Overall I want to just throw up this sub and go get Subway for $ 5 because that would blow this sub out of the water. Item 2: French fries — $ 3 for a small tub of about 23 total fries fresh out of the freezer bag and dry. Item 3: $ 10 small pizza. Might as well stop at the 7 – 11 and grab one from the freezer because that’s what this pizza was like. Clearly obvious this pizza was previously frozen and tasted like fresh cardboard. Item 4: chicken parmesan sub — $ 13.50 for the same type sub as above. The chicken was fresh from the Tyson chicken fingers bag. Two chicken tenders laid on a stale tasteless bun with some sauce and slices of cheese on top. Thankfully Tyson makes good chicken fingers or this sub would of been fed to my dogs. Overall: next time I’ll just make myself a peanut butter and jelly because that would be much more enjoyable. I apologize to the management when you read this, but step up your game. I’ll spend my money up the road at Accapella, Basta Pasta, Savory Deli, or Baldwin Meals.

The staff makes too many errors with orders. Again, today, I ordered a chicken cheese steak. Not only did the female clerk respond was a mere grunt, she was busy looking around for someone that was going to allow her to take a break. Apparently she made no effort to give the correct order to the replacement, as she went outside to relax. When I got the order I asked to see it and it was beef instead of chicken. This has happened to me more than once at this location. The quality — IF you get what you order — is bland. Hint: Go up the road to Savory Deli.

Been going to this place for years, so I’ll begin on a high note. I love the pizza(I know some people on here do not), and I love the subs. Now for the problem: This past Sunday(3÷30÷2015), my wife was in the mood for a half of a cheese steak sub with everything. I figured I’d get a 16 inch pizza. I call the order in. I drive the 8 minutes one way to the shop. They get my order, and I see a 12 inch pizza box. I confirm it’s my order, and say my pizza should be a 16 inch. The girl tells me she was told a 12 inch. I told the girl I never, ever, ever, order 12 inch pizzas. I am made to wait another 15 minutes for a 16 inch pizza. This would have been no problem, except no one offered to make it right. Did they offer me the 16 inch pizza, at no charge, for the inconvenience? No. Did they offer me the 12 inch pizza free of charge, along with the 16 inch I paid for? No. I did get a half assed apology. This place has spotty service at best, and despite the fact that I like the food, it is way overpriced, and way under sized. I knew it was a mistake to come here, but I catered to my wife’s craving. I much prefer the new Baldwin Meals. As a new venture, they have made three mistakes with my numerous orders. In all three instances, they profusely apologized, and made it right by not charging me, or giving me a lot of free extras. Their pizzas are delicious, their other food is very good, and you get what you pay for. It will be a long time before I try Palmisano’s again.

Just because it has an Italian name doesn’t mean it knows how to make good pizza. I pass this place often & like to patronize local businesses but I won’t go back even though it was convenient. The crust was tough. I think it was one of those pre-made thick disks. Just awful. Canned mushrooms etc… bypass this. A frozen pizza from grocery store for half the price would be better.

Great family owned place. Always friendly and great food. A little pricey but worth it.

I grew up right down the road from this place, been going here for decades. And the only reason it still has been around since 1947 is because of it’s singular location combined with a lack of competition. For small town maryland, the subs are priced like they are in NYC(i live in brooklyn now) and they are no where near the caliber of even the basic average sub up in these parts. Point is, they are extremely overpriced for the location. More importantly, DON’T EVENCONSIDER the pizza… it’s offensively sweet and there’s no thought whatsoever put into sauce or dough. I’ve had my share of things that have offended me over the years here… but the two that stick out to me are the terrible service a la inept high school kids who don’t even know how to measure out and slice a quarter lb of turkey meat(true story, they refused to do it because they didn’t know how even after giving them a 101). The other, and oddly the one that speaks the most of how this place is, is that this is the type of joint that will sell you a canolli half filled, only plugging up the very ends leaving you with a hollow middle. Use that as metaphor if you will. I know it’s tempting when you see lots of road bikers, cars and people outside… you’d think it’s a happening joint and a great place to get a sandwich, some small town italian food, etc. Truth is it’s just been fortunate to have that monopoly location locked down. Hopefully that will soon shake up when the new High’s gets opened up where the old Valley Wine store was. I hope the competition makes Jamie Palmisano think differently about how he runs his family’s store, which i’ll admit was pretty ok in the 90’s. But from what I’ve gathered through mutual friends, he’s all about getting your $$$. I gave 2 stars instead of one because it’s got the basics like beverages, coffee, and more when you need it. And the layout, parking, and outdoor space has always been nice.

The service was unfriendly. The three high schoolers where to busy typing on their phones then to worry about customers. I ordered two Italian cold cuts. I had to remind them to toast both after they forgot. I got home and they forget to put the cheese on both sandwiches and the hot peppers on one of them. Seriously who forgets the cheeses. We even discussed what kind. I will never go there again.

People are not friendly, the sauce is sweet, all items are way over priced. Pizza is terrible. No subs under $ 10 and they use cheap meats and cheese. For what the Italian sub cost it should sing to me. If you can wait, go somewhere else.

The food is expensive. Italian not that good. Pizza is awful. Iced tea and coffee always fresh. Think about traveling a few more minutes to enjoy Sunshine Grill or Pasqaule’s. Both have carryout or eat in. MUCH better food, priced fairly.

I dig the mom ‘n pop feel of this place. It’s clearly been around a while, and offers up homemade sammies, pasta, and other deli finds, while also stocking quite a few convenience store items, too. I would certainly check out the Italian cuisine, if I ever visited again. The options looked delish. I wasn’t in love with my sandwich, but really I’m mostly to blame. Since there wasn’t a vegetarian sandwich option on the menu, I did a create your own(not on the menu but they went with it). I ordered lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions on wheat with mustard and vinegar. That’s a pretty standard sammie for me, so I usually know what to expect. The veggies were fresh, but the mustard was way overpowering. Definitely a bit too heavy-handed on the yellow stuff. I never should have ordered vinegar — I take full responsibility for that mistake. Because we ordered multiple sandwiches for pick up, there was a decent amount of time between the sandwiches being made and being consumed, and during that time the vinegar totally soaked through the bread. Should’ve gone with a sub roll! Next time… My sandwich may have been a bust, but everyone else enjoyed their choices! If you’re headed to Boordy vineyards, then I highly recommend stopping into Palmisano’s for a picnic lunch! Just stick with the Italian sub or the BLT.

Expensive, but the food is good and the staff are pleasant. It is nice to order your food and eat on their patio.

Not a lot to say here but OHMYGOD?! It’s taken this long for Unilocal to find its way to the door step of Palmisano’s?! REALLY??? Ok this place has been making subs and sandwich’s and VERYGOOD home style Italian food as long as I’ve been around. The clam sauce the salads, the pizza’s, etc… doesn’t matter what your poison they make it and its fresh and tasty! I have been going here longer than I care to admit, it’s a true neighborhood or well hard to call it a neighborhood place being that it’s in the middle of the country! Yet when you walk in you have the feeling of walking into a sub shop in Lil Italy! Make your way out here for lunch on a Saturday or to stock up for a game day either way you are leaving happy!!!
