The only thing positive about this place is the rustic location. Food is poor quality with fat and gristle in the pork sandwich(big turnoff). Their cole slaw with dill seasoning is horrible. Today was our second try and LAST! Stomach cramps are no fun…

I used to like this restaurant until their service went completely downhill… I waited 20 minutes in the drive-through today for an overpriced meal. Their prices are extremely high and I will not be coming back.

Not the best but not the worst or so I thought. I wondered why the pulled pork was gray and then I went through the drive through one day and watched in horror as they microwaved a tub of pork. I politely asked if that was how they kept it warm and they seemed shocked I would ask… As if microwaved food is normal at a restaurant. I’m amazed this place is in business and that people are giving it such positive reviews microwaved pulled pork is NOT good BBQ.

Stopped by for sort of a late biscuit on Saturday morning. Great little spot in the middle of a wood yard. The sausage bisuit is a big upgrade from what you get at the fast food places. Good place to stop on the way to the lake. They open at 0530.

Ordered to go from this place and it was my first time eating here as well. Ordered the pork, fries and slaw. Was hot when I got home and the pulled pork made great sandwiches. Got my BBQ craving settled with this place and will be back when the craving comes back.

We have been to many BBQ places. This was just plain good. The rack of ribs was falling off the bone good. Sauce was wonderful. Just sauce. Just BBQ. Just good! We will be back. Heard the biscuits are amazing.

Sooooooo good! I had a sandwich with fries and my boyfriend had a platter with beans and cole slaw. I’m taking my friends and family here every chance I get!

This place makes me proud to be from Georgia. This very rustic place has great breakfast biscuits. Ironically I think its a BBQ restaurant first but we always stop by for some breakfast biscuits whenever we visit my uncle in Cumming.

No frills, down home Georgia BBQ at its finest. Most authentic BBQ joint we’ve had the pleasure of eating at since moving to Georgia. I had the ½ slab of ribs which were very generous, baked beans and fries. They also give you a big slice of buttered toast. I smoke meat as a hobby, so I know good ribs(they’re my specialty) and these ribs are good. A). They remove the membrane off the back B). They don’t put on a ton of rub and you can really taste the smoke(although I do like mine a little more seasoned). C). They cut their own wood right out front. You step out of your car and smell the awesomeness immediately. Husband is a brisket fanatic. He had the chopped brisket & fried okra. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is that we judge BBQ places on 2 things: Ribs & Brisket — sliced brisket… this brisket is chopped. If they would offer long smoked sliced brisket, we’d give it 5 stars. These ribs are near my #1 top in Georgia so far… Williamson Brothers are very close. Before I would declare a winner I’d have to eat at Amos’s again for the ribs and then make my decision. We are fans of Amos’s BBQ and we will definitely come back. Also look forward to bringing family that come in from Ohio to show them a true GABBQ experience. Great job Amos’s.

I had a fairly large catering order to pick up at 6:00. They called me to confirm the order earlier in the day which I appreciated. My wife went to pick up the order and was a few minutes late. When she arrived they had not even begun to fill my order. They also were very rude to my wife asking her several questions that were inappropriate and not important to ordering BBQ. When we got to the location about 15 minutes away to consume the food, it was ice cold… not room temperature… like just came out of the fridge type cold. I called to speak to the manager about the entire situation. She was polite and to the point. She said the owner would be calling me shortly to discuss the matter. When the owner called I told him the situation. Instead of offering an apology for the crummy service he defended why the food was served cold saying that I requested it that way(which I didn’t) We then got into an argument over semantics and never once did he accept any blame or apologize for terrible service. After we had to heat up our own meal, the food was mediocre at best. Needless to say we won’t be eating there again, and the owner should be ashamed.

Small, quaint and friendly. Some outside seating but we usually get it to go. Smokey and flavorful and priced right for the amount of food. In this area, it’s really the best. That isn’t meant to be a slam. Everyone has their own taste about BBQ favorites and this one fits for us when we have a craving. Go, I doubt you will be disappointed, we never have been.

Cool atmosphere but food was not good. Pork was dry and drowned in overly sweet sauce. Beans are from a can and slaw was boring. Very disappointing.

What a fun place for lunch! The porch was perfect today and even saw their precious porch cat. The BBQ was great and the homemade fries were delicious!!! Thanks to my husband for picking the stop today. It was a much needed break.

This is one of my favorite bbq restaurants. Located in an old house it has a divey feel. Food and sauces are phenomenal. Dont miss out. Very busy on the weekends, so plan on a wait but remember good things take time.

This little hole in the wall shack has some pretty decent BBQ. I don’t even like BBQ very much, but it is my husband’s favorite, so I have to endure it every now and then. I ordered the stuffed baked potato. I ordered it stuffed with beef BBQ. It was a huge plate of potato wedges covered with BBQ, cheese, and sour cream. It was greasy southern comfort food at its best. A sweet tea completed a perfect back road BBQ experience.

[TL;DR] A decent, neighborhood BBQ spot that also serves breakfast. It’s somewhere you want to go in the warmer months, which I’ll get to in a second. /ATMOSPHERE Well, it’s it’s not warm out, you’re going to find it interesting to get a seat inside. There are 4 or 5 tables inside that pack up if it’s cold out. Fear not though, they have a drive-thru. The whole place on the outside is really quaint. It gives you a nice, warm country style feeling. /FOOD Nothing particularly above decent BBQ in either the BBQ or the sauces. I got the Stuffed Tater which was just a bit bland and too sweet. I’d try it again but would probably get the BBQ sauce on the side and add a little salt. One detraction is the coffee and tea are run tthrough the same system. I guess I’m particular about my coffee. I don’t want it to have a tea flavor to it, not that they had any that I could drink. The prices are really decent. They serve breakfast as well. One of these days, I plan to stop back by to give it a try since it’s right on the way to Gibbs Gardens. /SERVICE Folks are really friendly, both when taking the order and dropping off the food. I did enjoy the place. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

Came here after a recommendation from my brother who said it was«the best BBQ you can get around here» and I wasn’t disappointed. The inside and outside is decorated with fun memorabilia and other antiques. Ordered the BBQ pork and a side of fried pickles and both were really great. Pork was really moist and flavorful and was topped with some quality sauce. The cole slaw was okay, a bit too sweet for my taste but maybe fine for others. Fried pickles were awesome with a crunchy outside and a deliciously crisp inside. I judge my fried pickles by how well the batter sticks to the spear, and these were firmly coated with the stuff. I think my meal came out to be around $ 7, so the value for all this was awesome! I would definitely come back and try some of the other BBQ meats they offer(and definitely get a side of the fried pickles!).

I frequent here for breakfast, the tenderloin, egg, cheese biscuits are phenomenal! ! As well as their brownies. The BBQ is average, sauces are the same. On this evening, the staff seemed very disorganized. Mornings when John(the owner) run much smoother. The country decore is inviting and on cold mornings, they run the woodstove. If you’re looking for a great country breakfast, this is definitely your place!!! Please don’t discount the BBQ either. It is good, just like what you would find at your average joint.
