What do you buy for your child’s first birthday? They are not big enough to make much sense from the presents so it could be virtually anything, so I though it is probably my only chance to give my son something I actually like(I am already terrified of big plastic beeping monstrosities which I most likely won’t be able to escape next birthday). I came across Your Toy Portrait a few months ago and it immediately caught my attention as the paintings I saw were very cute, original, and also personal since you bring your own toy for the portrait. I though this would be a perfect 1st birthday gift for my son as it is something that would decorate his room for many years to come and also it could be that special item he could keep as a memory for his 1st birthday(frankly, I’d much rather keep a gorgeous painting than a plastic space warrior). My husband and I(or probably just I :) picked an orange anteater, in my opinion his coolest stuffed toy. From the moment I contacted Jennifer I knew the painting was going to be amazing because she’s an amazing person, it was so easy to communicate with her. I actually had the pleasure of meeting her in person while spending a weekend with our friends upstate. When she handed me the painting I couldn’t hold my excitement — it was FABULOUS!!! Jennifer went far beyond our expectations, both my husband and I love it. The way she painted the toy is so cute and so real, she is so incredibly talented. I love the vibrant colors she used, it’s such a happy painting and every time I look at it I have to smile. I hope my son will grow to love and cherish the painting(and the toy) as much as I do. It is the most special birthday gift — thank you, Jennifer!
