I like their offerings. There are some that are so institutional-sized, you’d have to be serving the neighborhood. Once you’ve opened a can, you’ve bought the farm. But there are plenty of other things that are home-sized vessels. Soups, condiments, canned goods. Chips, snacks, cookies. Ready-made salads. Carbonated beverages. I got paper towels, sub rolls, sliced cheese, V-8, Pace Thick and Chunky Salsa(medium), which does not fit in my refrigerator at all, though it’s not that big of a container — just tall; Lipton decaf tea bags. Plentiful coffee offerings. Available are fresh and frozen foods. Lots of cheese varieties. Fresh meats, as well as bacon, ham and sausages. Kitchen gadgets, pots and pans, aprons and potholders, as well as serving containers of both the aluminum and plastic variety.

GFS Marketplace. New store(Dec. 2014). Helpful employees. Ample parking. Located next to Target in Ballwin — Holloway Rd. and Manchester Rd. — on the far west of the lot. The store has a vestibule in which to pick up your shopping cart or small flatbed. The carts are a different size than those found at other stores. They are a bit longer, but not as deep. They even had a cup holder. Once inside the main store I appreciated the«Welcome» by the employee closest to the door. Upon exit i received a hearty«Thank you» by the employees at the service desk. The kindness is certainly appreciated. The store is a great place to pick up party supplies(plates, napkins, shaving dishes, serving materials, food in bulk). Small restaurants or caterers will appreciate the local, reasonably priced merchandise. Large families will certainly make GFS Marketplace a regular stop. The aisles are relatively narrow — laid out in a logical manner. Aisles 1 – 2 are for grocery products. Aisle 3 for kitchen supplies. Aisle 4 for disposables. Aisle 5 for janitorial supplies. The final section of the store is for frozen/bulk food and the corner reserved for fresh meat and produce. The final aisle contains milk and dairy followed by frozen items: burgers and hot dogs, chicken and seafood, steaks and ribs. Restrooms are located at the front of the store. Make sure you lock the door — especially men. Forgetting this may prove embarrassing! GFS Marketplace is a nice addition to the area. I’ll be back to compare costs to other stores.
