Amazing Glaze

A beautiful space to get your creativity on. I came here with my mentee for an event for the program I am a part of. The room was set up with all of the essentials. The women who facilitated the group were knowledgeable and very helpful. They also explained everything in good detail to ensure our colors would come out properly. I love the location and space. The walls are loaded with pieces that have been done by experts to decorate. I also love the big windows and white walls. There is a large selection of pottery to choose from too. This area also has a Whole Foods and a few restaurants around as well as other galleries to check out.

It’s a an amazing place to spend a few hours getting in touch with your inner artist. They have a great, friendly staff who are very attentive and will even be patient with children or painters who ask really basic questions. They have a great selection of pottery to choose from and to date I’ve made a cup and saucer, mailbox and a dish.
I’m not a major fan of the music played in the background, usually some 90’s hits, but it’s not too distracting. Overall, huge fan and will probably head back soon.

What a great place to take an artistic child. My daughter loves this place, and we have been back many times.
Projects include pottery and painting. Definitely worth a try with your child.

My mom and I had a great time painting pottery Mother’s Day weekebd. It was a total surprise to her and sge ended up havibg a great time. She is already pkanning on going again with her friends.
There is a huge selection of pottery to choose from and the staff was very helpful. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. It literally felt as though I was in an art studio. It was quiet, the staff was helpful, and all materials and paint were readily available.
I understand there are other classes offered such as mosaics and I may tackle that next.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at amazing glaze, and I will not be back. I picked up my finished piece which is a light pink piggy bank only to get home to find a grey thumbprint smudge in the ear and a few specks of grey throughout the piece. I washed my hands before taking the piece to the shelf for drying and know I didn’t touch the ear. I called the next day to express my disappointment because it’s a baby shower gift. I was told that I can’t glaze a new piece but they offered to have me bring the piece back and try to add some more glaze and refire it. The problem with that, which I pointed out is that it’s a very light pink… I doubt it will cover grey. I don’t even want to drive the 20 minutes back to attempt this correction only to have to return days later to pick up and hope it works. I am very disappointed in the customer service when I clearly wasnt at fault. If it were a kids piece I could understand their hesitation but I’m a meticulous adult who was making this for a gift.

Very pleasant experience painting pottery here. They have unlimited refills on a wide selection of colors. We went when there was a separate brithday party going on but we still felt like it was a calm environment for painting. A fresh and quiet retreat from the busy parking lot around the building. It’s a great place for all ages.

My family had a great time painting but the experience was very impersonal. Five minutes into painting our pieces a young lady came over and asked us how much out pieces were. She then lifted up my 5 year old niece’ piece while she was painting it to check the price. Really? She didn’t even say hello or thank you. The other employee didn’t help us out when we asked for bigger stencils… she simply said, look in the folder and see if it’s there in a rather careless manner.
Could have been a better experience if the reception we received wasn’t so rude.

One of my favorite hobbies that I’m not able to enjoy as often as I’d like is to paint pottery. I’ve tried a few places in the area, and I’m always very content when I go to Amazing Glaze. Since its nestled back in Mt. Washington, it is the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of Falls Road. Each time I’ve gone, the staff has been helpful and friendly. Compared to other pottery places, there is a huge selection of items to paint and decorate.
I hadn’t been to Amazing Glaze in quite some time, so I’m not sure how new this is, but the shop now offers options like mosaics and glass painting, in addition to the pottery painting. The important thing to note about Amazing Glaze that may be overlooked that brings the price up is the Studio Fee– in addition to the price of whatever ceramic you paint, you must also pay a fee depending on how long you’ve spent painting. The minimum is $ 7, but if you decide to stay all day and paint a bunch of items, the most you’ll pay is $ 12 (I was there for a little over two hours today and my fee was $ 8.75). The studio also offers deals for certain days/​nights such as ladies’ night or tween night, where you can paint without a studio fee which makes it even more affordable.
These places are always great for children’s birthday parties; with such a friendly staff and large selection of options, I’d say Amazing Glaze would be the place to host one in the Baltimore area!

Amazing Glaze is a fun place where you can paint your own pottery.
I must first come clean and say I haven’t been there on my own, but have only been there as a part of a larger group. That said, I had a great time when I did go. They do a great job of making sure everyone is having a good time, and you can actually reserve the entire store for a period of time for a group/​party.
Once you’ve painted your piece, you just hand it over and they glaze it for you for safe keeping. They have a big variety of pieces for you to paint. This is actually a great place for a date, or also for your kids as they have certain small toy like pieces (eg: small cars and such).
