Baltimore Cab and Van Services

I give this 3 stars because they showed up on time, I could pay w a credit card, and they texted me my receipt. HOWEVER — TWICE AS MUCH AS UBER. I went under a mile and it was $ 25 bucks. Apparently Baltimore taxi’s are famous for ripping off. They should get with it so as to maybe stay alive while über is in town.

These guys offered to transport me 2 miles on New Year’s Eve for $ 150. Can you say, «rip off??» No way would I use this service… er, rip off. I had it right the first time.

Had a tire blow out on the highway right outside the tunnel. Waiting for my tow truck and called a taxi. My driver showed up in about 15 – 20 minutes and was so nice! I couldn’t have asked for better for an unpleasant time I found myself in.

Don’t use this cab company we made a reservation 45 minutes in advance they never sent to the cabin we called they didn’t know how long it would take to get a cab coming just forget about this company very unprofessional

Smoothly operated and professional service. My ride arrived 15 minutes early and called my phone to let me know he was there, but did not rush me. Emasculate it clean oversized vehicle and polite driver.

Do not use this service. I called to ask for a cab from the MARC station at Halethorpe to BWI — supposed to be a very simple 5 minute trip– they said 15 minutes. After calling them multiple times because 15 minutes pass and no one is there, they tell me first that the driver is a mile away, then again «less than a mile away» (15 minutes later? Really? — then that they are sending another driver because the original one got lost. You’re a driver and can’t find the train station? Seriously? When the new driver finally gets there, an hour later, they still charge me 20 dollars for the 5 minute trip. Best part — now standing in a ridiculous security line at BWI, pretty likely that I will miss my flight. Just awful. Awful service and did not even try to compensate for the drivers awful performance. Do not use!!!

I was very pleased with this company. I called them at 10am telling them that I needed a 4:30pm pickup to go to the airport. They showed up 15 minutes early. The driver called me to let me know he was there and he was very friendly. The rate was identical to what I had paid another company for the same trip.

Called for a trip quote. My destination was 20 minutes away. Quote was +$ 50 — I’ll pass.

The service was passable. The cab showed up rather quickly and was knowledgeable about the area. However, the driver also elected to pick up another guest while I was in the Cab because it was «on the way». He didn’t charge this person anything but said that he would give me a discount. Then he tried to take a measly two dollars off of the $ 22 charge that I swear would have been lower had we not had the detour. Still, I got where I needed to go. Despite this, I can’t recommend them whole hearted because of the unprofessional nature of this encounter. Use with caution…

Called at 6 am for a cab to bwi, they said within 15 minutes. I waited until 6:30 and called, no answer. I called 5 more times with no answer. Waited an hour and the cab never showed up. Luckily I was able to flag down another cab company or I would have missed my flight.

Just an update. I have used them for 25+ trips. I haven’t had any more issues with them being late.
I’ve had issues with the reservation system… So you need to make sure someone CONFIRMS your reservation. Just because you submit it online, doesn’t mean that you have a car confirmed.

This service made my stressful travel experience a lot less stressful. My flights were delayed, cancelled, and my airline was even switched at one point, but at every juncture, Baltimore Cab and Van Service immediately adjusted their schedule to my situation and tracked my flight in order to get me at the right time. They called me as soon as my flight touched down and texted me to let me know how long it would take for them to get to my arrival door. The van ride was pleasant — the car was clean and my driver, Tony, was very courteous. He even helped me lift about ten large boxes/​suitcases/​miscellaneous objects to and from the car and my various destinations. After a long and troublesome flight, Baltimore Cab and Van Service was my first transition back into stability. I would definitely use this service again.

Don’t call! Waste of time! My boyfriend and I were at home and called for a cab to take us to Camden Yards. We waited 15 min. and received a call that the cab was here. But it wasn’t. So we waited some more and called again, and they said it was 1 min. away. Didn’t come. So we called again and again. And they gave us times, 3 min., 10 min. We were about ready to give up, so we called 1 more time, and they told us that they would dispatch us another cab! What?! We wasted an hour! What if we had been trying to catch a flight or make a reservation? Do NOT call this place. I’m sure it’s fine for curbside pick-​ups, but totally unreliable.

Gave them a call, and less than 10 minutes later, a van was outside of my house, ready to drive me to my destination. Our driver was friendly, but didn’t try to force conversation. He got us to our destination quickly and without hassle. They accepted credit cards (and will email a receipt? NICE!), which was a plus. Our driver got us from the outskirts of the city (Violetteville) to Mount Vernon in no time at all.
A tad pricey ($ 35 for two people), but all things considered, not too bad for the prompt service. When it’s been one of those weeks when no one wants to be D.D., not to mention finding (and probably paying for) parking, Baltimore Cab offers convenience one can’t beat.

The online registration made me nervous at first but it worked like a charm. They sent confirmation to my cell within 30 minutes and I had phone and text numbers for the reservation office and my driver right there in my phone.
We used them 3 times while we were visiting Baltimore/​DC. The cars were clean, comfortable and the arrivals prompt. Two times they were about 10 minutes early and waited for us to get down from our hotel rooms. They had bottled water for us on two of the trips.
They called just as they were arriving to let us know. And when we were trying to locate each other at the «unfamiliar to us» airport we could text back and forth. The communication with them was very easy and succesful.
Our luggage didn’t arrive with us. The driver explained they could go back to the airport for us when it does and deliver it to us at our hotel. We didn’t need that service but it was great to know we wouldn’t have to take a day from our vacation to drive back and forth to the airport for lost luggage.
Two drawbacks that kept me from doing 5 stars:
It bothers me when a driver wants to talk politics. The driver we had on the trip from DC back to Baltimore nearly ruined the lovely drive by doing so. He assumed since we were from Texas we were Republicans and began talking bad about Democrats and President Obama. I told him we were Democrats and perhaps he should change the subject. He looked back in the rearview mirror in shock and said, «But you are from Texas!». Assumptions make for bad choices, sir.
And there are a few hidden fees. We wanted meet and greet service at the airport. As I said, we were not familiar with that airport. We wanted someone to meet us. AFTER I clicked «make the reservation» a $ 35 fee popped up for the meet and greet service. So be aware of the fact those will come after you finalize your reservation.
But overall, we loved the ease of reservation and the promp and pleasant service. We’d definately use and recommend them again.

About as good a taxi service as I have encountered in Baltimore.
Reservation process I used was over the phone, I called to confirm a particularly early flight out and the need for a 5:00am pick up, but then followed-​up with a second call to pad my arrival with a little more time and a 4:30am pick up instead.
The process was polite, quick, and painless.
The explanation and bonus points (because I realize giving a 5 star taxi service rating is … hard to fully justify):
* texts to confirm appointment scheduling (time, pick up address, and rate) — also followed up with contact information to book a return ride or modify arrangements
* online reservations/​quotes are available (though I did not use them)
* upgraded cars (optional — about $ 10 to swap to a executive sedan for my trip)
* modified reservation for an earlier time was quick and easy
* taxi arrived 10 min. early and called to say he was here and to come out when I was ready
* very professional ride and service curb to curb
* brownie point: asking me what radio station I’d like to sit back and relax to on my pre-​dawn ride to the airport — completely unnecessary but thoroughly appreciated from a regular taxi ride

It was extremely easy to reserve a taxi for my trip to and from BWI online through their online registration system. The taxi was right on time, and called my cell before he got to my apartment/​airport. When my return flight was canceled, he called to get my updated information. The taxis were clean as a whistle and very comfortable. I was extremely happy with their professional, prompt, and easy service.
