My high school. It was a really rough 4 years. Poly is a technical school focusing on math and science. You’re really not supposed to think independently or creatively. In my English classes, my teachers would give me Ds and Fs and write smart-ass comments like«no!» and«that’s not what the author meant». In college my essays got As and Bs with comments such as «interesting viewpoint» or «elaborate more». Had some good science teachers at Poly– a lot of them were real mellow and probably smoked the good stuff. For the most part though, I was a round peg that the school tried to hammer into a square hole. I must’ve set a record for missing the most days of school while actually passing– the only thing that kept me sane. Not everything was bad. I did manage to be president of the Chess Club and had some nice classmates. Hey, it’s public school– survive and move onto college. Such is life.
