Delicious bbq! Tender, flavorful & great selection of sauces… mmmm. Would recommend calling ahead to order, this place gets a bit busy around lunch time :)

The food here is delicious! I love the pit ham, beef brisket with bacon sandwich. They let you try any sauce and are very nice with answering any questions you have. It is a small place so you may not be able to sit inside. I’m lucky to live down the street ;) I do highly recommend their food and it is a big portion.

Fresh, hand cut fries, perfectly cooked chicken, pulled pork to die for, and the best half and half in Baltimore, but absolutely the slowest take out I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and call the order in, unless you want to sit and smell deliciousness for 30min while you wait.

Delicious! The ribs, the pork, the mac & cheese(especially the mac & cheese), the greens… are all great. Delicious, cooked perfectly and with delectable sauces on the side as well, I enjoy coming here anytime I can justify the calories or the craving. The inside isn’t much to look at, just a simple counter where you can order your food and wait, but grab it and go and you won’t be disappointed.

I was VERY excited to see a place selling beef ribs. Big, juicy, meaty, flintstone sized ribs. Couldn’t wait to get there, order my food and get home to gorge on good BBQ with baked beans and Mac and cheese. I get home and have a bunch of stuff to do before I can sit and eat but that big meaty rib was on my mind, so imagine my surprise when I open the box and I have what looks like thick cut bacon. They DONOT, in fact, sell beef ribs… they sell a VERYPOOR version of beef SHORT ribs. And like I said a VERYPOOR version of short ribs. They were paper thin, tough and dry… even slathered in their XXXBBQ sauce(which wasn’t very hot, by the way) The baked beans were very vinegary(I know, not a word) and sour… NOTBBQ baked beans by any stretch. The Mac and cheese was more like Mac and grease. I can get better Mac and cheese from Kraft… THATSBAD!!! Do yourself a favor and don’t go looking for this place and definitely keep driving by.

I have to say this BBQ is top notch. Be prepared to nap after the amount of awesome food they give you. The picture is my girlfriend chowin down on the chicken breast sandwich with spicy Carolina sauce. This sandwich was big enough for two lol. The half of rack was delicious as well. Can’t begin to explain thru text how good the quality and taste was. NOWGETSOMEBIGBADWOLF!

Maybe it was an off day but i stopped there for burgers and decided to try ribs also. Grabbed a half slab for work the next day. The burgers were more BUN than anything, my boyfriend was extremely let down. Just did nothing for us. They were good but small and not JUICY. So the next day i was ready for my ribs. They were not as tender as i prefer. I am currently searching for floss, a toothpick. SOMETHING: overall– UNDERWHELMING. I will stick to my usual spot

Probably my favorite barbecue spot in Baltimore. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, it’s all delicious. Hole in the wall joint, no BS, just good food.

The beef brisket sandwich was pretty delicious. Nice flavor, moist, good portion of meat. The bun used kind of throws all of those wonderful flavors off because it’s just a basic white bread hamburger bun that could benefit from a slight toast or something. I tried the beef ribs. I did not care for those because they were dry and had little flavor. The large sized french fries were massive! The fries were nicely crispy and hot and fresh. From what I could tell, they just had a hint of salt. They didn’t taste bad either. Next time I go, I’ll just stick to the brisket sandwich and fries.

Very good BBQ. It’s a smaller establishment and definitely worth going to. We were a party of 4(self seating and such) and the food was delivered on time. I got the big bad wolf(Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket and Hickory Smoked Bacon) with sweet honey sauce. Best choice of my life! Got some mac n cheese as a side. The side was a bit smaller than I hoped but it was all filling nonetheless. All tasted home made which was awesome. I was completely lethargic and sleepy after my meal. I felt like this for the rest of the day — probably because the hot summer weather too. Not the establishments fault though — just my lack of wisdom to eat bbq on a hot day.

What a treat. Good and fast service and delicious meals. Ordered half short ribs with Kansas city spicy. Yumm. and half chicken with mustard based sauce… This was good but not traditional Carolina gold

This spot is right on Harford Road, which is a busy street. I arrived close to closing, so I got parking space right in front(yay me). It’s a little hole in the wall place, which I loved the most. I paid by credit and the cashier had me sign with my finger on the phone. A copy of the receipt was emailed to me. That was surprisingly fun. I had the BBQ ribs, greens, Mac & Cheese and potato salad. I must say I loved everything, except the potato salad. It had a vinegar taste, no egg or onions in this recipe. They use fat pieces red potatoes which is cool. The star to me were the greens. They tasted like every holiday meal great grandma every cooked. I wish I could tell you more about the Mac & Cheese, but I ate them too fast. You get a choice of cornbread or biscuit. Of course I went with cornbread. The staff were friendly. We had a great convo while my food was being made. I plan to return soon. I promise to eat slower next time.

Walkable from our house means serious cholesterol danger. :). This place is excellent. It is small and gritty inside with a counter and about four stools and a couple picnic tables outside it you can’t wait to get it home and must eat now. They have pork and beef ribs, chicken(BBQ and eastern shore), and BBQ pork. A range of the typical sides but done really well. Try the collards and potato salad. Maybe it’s the way they do it here but it was orange-ish and big chunks. Maybe old bay in it… but it was great. It’s also a value. We did the family combo. You get pork ribs or beef. The spicy sauce pork ribs are bone gnawing great. You also get a whole chicken… the Eastern Shore with old bay is yum! You get a huge thing of fries… a large side… and a small pie. We had pecan and they also have sweet potato pie… or cookies. The pie is good… a little crusty. So go. We felt we were healthier by walking. Perhaps not. But great food and value. I’ll try the Carolina style pulled pork next to see if the really get the 5 star.

If you are tired of finding chunks of fat in your pulled pork sandwiches, look no further. There are no fillers or bread to meat ratios of 5:1 here. I got the Carolina pulled pork sandwich with Kansas City Spicy. The pulled pork has a bold vinegar taste. My boyfriend got the Big Bad Wolf(pulled pork, brisket and bacon). Brisket was tender and the bacon was crispy. All around, strong flavors with quality meat. The service is also super friendly. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the seating arrangement is a little abnormal. The only dine-in options range from a few seats inside to outdoor benches. I recommend takeout.

About a 1 – 1.5: The Big Bad Wolf’s House of BBQ is a small little yellow brick house off of Harford Road — very cute! The menu offers pork/beef ribs, BBQ chicken, Eastern Shore chicken(with Old Bay), beef brisket, pulled pork, sandwiches, sides(potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, apple sauce, collard greens, candied sweet potatoes, and mac & cheese), salads, fries, and family platters/combos. They had a variety of sauces: Kansas City Sweet, Kansas City Spicy, Carolina Mustard, Carolina Vinegar, Texas Pit(tasted like marinara sauce(?)), Sweet Honey, and XXX(described as ‘Hot enough for the devil’(!!!)). I tried the ‘Big Bad Wolf’ — I was surprised that this was a sandwich, as I thought it was a sampler platter; this came with a mix of pulled pork(dried and chili pepper flakes mixed within), beef brisket(slightly fatty, but extremely dried out), and hickory smoked bacon(just tasted like bacon with not much of a hickory taste) — the kaiser roll that it came with was very dry. I also tried the pork ribs, which were dry-rubbed — these, too, were extremely overcooked and dried out T____T The ribs came with cornbread that was so dry, that even with the slightest touch, it crumbled and fell apart — definitely a choking hazard: P I was pretty disappointed with the meats, as all the meats were very dry and had no flavor, and even dipping it into the Kansas City Spicy sauce didn’t help much(the sauce was definitely tasty, though, as it was sweet and had a very subtle kick to it). The mint tea that I ordered had no mint flavor, but was a standard unsweetened tea(cold, though!) T___T There’s limited counter seating within as well as a picnic tables outside for some al fresco dining. I’m glad I was able to check this place out, but will not go back! +extremely overcooked & dried out meats T____T +extremely dry cornbread T_____T +Kansas City Spicy(tasty) +limited counter seating within +picnic tables available outside

This is my second visit here. The pulled pork sandwich was very good it was seasoned to perfection and a good buy. The food is made to order, and the staff is very polite and courteous. They have hours that can accommodate lunch and dinner. They have new menu items such as Cajun Catfish sandwiches and Ground Turkey Burgers. All meats are«grilled». I highly recommend this establishment for a great dining experience.

I am convinced that the Big Bad Wolf sandwich is quite possibly the greatest sandwich ever created. Succelent beef brisket, slightly tangy pulled pork, crispy, thick bacon and BBQ sauce on a kaiser roll.(I chose the Kansas City Sweet sauce) Simply made, but absolutely tantalizing to the tastebuds. I’m not sure if I’ll ever try anything else there, because it has me sold, & at $ 8 a pop, the price point isn’t too shabby. I wish I could have such high praise for the sides though. The baked beans that I ordered were very good. They had a slightly sweet and thick tomato base with onions and peppers. The collard greens however, were the worst I’ve ever tasted at any food establishment. They were fresh no doubt, but extremely bland. The tasted like they were cooked only in water. There was no butter or turkey butts or ham hocks or any seasoning at all for that matter. I ate two bites and trashed them. I was supremely disappointed. Normally, I always try take-out food once I get to my car, but before I leave the establishment’s location. I wish I had done that this time, because I would have insisted that they replace the bland greens with something else. Ah well. Greens aside, I was still impressed with the other parts of my meal and would certainly return! Update: The french fries here are fresh cut and delicious! Stick with those and baked beans as side orders, and you won’t be disappointed!

Heard good things about these ribs — it’s worth the trip to pick some up. You can’t go wrong with Kansas City Spicy or any of the other homemade sauces, but be warned, there’s only a few seats at the bar — this is mostly a spot to pick some up and take them with you. Not only is that KC Spicy sauce homemade, but so is almost everything else here. According to the chef, the apple sauce is the only thing that isn’t made in-house. The brisket is also excellent, and the clientele of locals seem loyal to this spot for good reason. If you are reading this review, you are probably in Baltimore, looking for some good barbecue and realize that you don’t have that many choices(especially for brisket.) Stop through and pick some up to go — if you enjoyed it half as much as I did, it’s money well spent.
