While I did find the selection of entrees to be somewhat limited(why not actually sell crab cakes instead of just lump meat sprinkled on your steak w/a side of asparagus for an extra $ 12.00), my appetizer and meal were absolutely delicious! My filet mignon was perfect as were the crabmeat and asparagus and so was the crab soup I ordered. I do wish a side came with the steak however. The apple pie was soooooo good. I would definitely return and probably order the same meal. The Mexican or Spanish soup was also delicious. I sampled some of my cousin’s soup. Our waiter was good, but our busser, Cool Willie was even better! The décor is immaculate and I was really impressed by it. The one down side, the Sangria is like drinking juice. Barely got a buzz. They need to put a little more alcohol in it.

Hello, I took my Fiancé here last night for her birthday dinner before we went out. The food was amazing and the service ‘Dan’ provided was genuine and he was very knowledgeable about the nights specials. I wish I could give more stars but unfortunately there were two issues throughout the night that stood out. First was valet service, which they had, but as soon as we pulled up our vehicle at 9pm the valet began collecting the signs and ignored us as we were waiting. A simple ‘Sorry, no more valet” would have sufficed. Another was at the end of the night when we ordered dessert. As we sat there drinking just after 10pm, my fiancé and I noticed a women with long dark hair from the back frequently coming out to the floor and looking at us. We felt rushed and as we finished our drinks we heard her say ‘YES!’ as she hurried to our table and began cleaning it off. We wish we could have enjoyed our time a little longer rather than being monitored about when we were going to leave.

I really like the atmosphere at the Blue Hill Tavern. The lighting was great and it really felt like an upscale restaurant, especially at night. The location is great and the staff was really nice as well. The food was very fresh. I ordered a steak with added crab on top. The white sauce was very tasty and the asparagus was also very fresh. The steak was cooked perfectly! My only complaint is the portion size. For the price I was hoping for a little(maybe a lot) more. I will admit that I wasn’t as hungry as I thought I would be after finishing my meal. I attribute that to how fresh the ingredients were. Great job!

Had a party of 15 — we had good service, great food. Is a little pricey. Worth the short drive. Recommend sharing a bunch of small plates and pizzas. Shrimp pizza was delicious. Warm rolls.

We dined at Blue Hill for the first time a few months ago, and it was very good in every way. The food was very fresh, the preparations thoughtful and interesting, and the service perfectly timed. It was a bit of a trek, so it has been a few months before we came back. This time, it was not so good. We decided to do share several appetizers and a pizza because they seemed more interesting than the entrees. We started off well with a spinach and strawberry salad, the spinach very fresh, strawberries wonderfully ripe, and a perfect amount of an excellent goat cheese. Some cod fritters were also very, very good. Marble sized bits of cod in a perfect batter with some salsa-like topping over excellent tortilla chips – a great concept and nicely done. But the goat cheese fritters over mixed greens with a vinaigrette dressing was a disaster, the flavors and textures completely jarring. Another appetizer of grilled octopus with chick peas was not so good either, the octopus being rather gummy. The sausage pizza was pretty good, the sausage well seasoned and the crust chewy and flavorful. Coffee was weak and tasted metallic. The brioche bread pudding was just okay, and took a good ten minutes to arrive after our coffee had long gone cold. This was surprising because service had otherwise been pretty good, and the restaurant was just over half full. There are a lot of very good restaurants in Baltimore, and a good many that never miss on any of their offerings or their service. So, now we will have to think long and hard about coming back to Blue Hill.

Food was pretty good. Service was too… Really disliked their 3 course brunch menu at $ 35 per person in which your choices are limited; felt boxed in!

Great Atmosphere and classy. However, when it comes to the actual food, while good, it’s not worth the price, in my opinion. After sharing two appetizers and getting an entrée, I still left feeling not completely full. Definitely a great spot to have dinner with friends and be in a trendy atmosphere, but not a place I would frequent regularly.

I can’t say enough good things about this establishment. I visited twice, most recently this past Sunday first brunch. The water fall at the bar cascading is mesmerizing. All the blue accessories and furnishings are elegant and not overdone. Love the bottomless margaritas and mimosas. I tried something new this visit with the chopped salad and Waygu Burger, they were both scrumptious and I could not finish either. If I lived closer this would be my «Cheers». I highly recommend partaking in this Mediterranean gem.

Unsure why this place is 4 stars. I was there for a dinner lecture and they hosted. I looked at the menu and everything sounded really good. We had buffet style Mac & Cheese, Sliders, Mushroom Wellington, Steamed Vegetables, and various other appetizers. The best thing that was there was probably the steamed vegetables and salad. Maybe it was my fault for setting high expectations… But there where 40 people there and the food didn’t get finished. My sangria was mostly ice. Boo!!! I will say that the service and servers are all really nice and efficient.

So we inadvertently came here for brunch… although we thought we were coming for restaurant week lunch. They do not do lunch on the weekends. Ignore the fact that the restaurant week advertisements list lunch here. that’s just on weekdays. Ok… if I knew that I was coming for brunch, I would have come with my friends that appreciate some drinks. They do a bottomless brunch where you can get all the mimosa /red sangria /white sangria /bloody mary you want… sounds great! But I came before work, so I wasn’t able to drink on my visit. I got the burger based on recommendations from the wait staff, as well as the many reviews on Unilocal(and it’s a good lunch option when you inadvertently show up to brunch). I can’t say that I was thrilled with the burger. Maybe it was an off day because restaurant week made the kitchen busier? My burger had an over cooked patty(asked for medium rare, got medium to medium-well) on what is probably a decent Brioche roll(except that it was just acting as a sponge that soaked in an insane amount of grease). I picked it up and it was dripping grease and oil over me. I don’t order a burger thinking that it’ll be the healthiest item on the menu, but I would like to be able to taste the bread and pick up the burger without having it pour out grease like an over-saturated sponge. It made me sad. because I really love a good burger. I can’t remember what the hubbie ate… and I can’t remember if he liked it or not. All I can remember is that I was sad as I left… maybe I’ll come back for lots of mimosas or sangria some day. Based on my single meal here, it should actually be a 2 star on my rating system… but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that I just got a bad burger. It seems like they have some other great food options. — — — — — — — — — — — – Explanation of my rating system — 5*: Epitome of something, the best I’ve had, would LOVE to go back 4*: Great food and happy to go back regularly, but not the best of the category 3*: Food is fine. I may spontaneously decide to go there based on convenience. But no need to go back either. 2*: If you insist, I guess I’ll come along. I’ll find something to eat. But I wouldn’t have picked it. 1*: No plans to come back. I’ll try to talk companions out of going.

Stopped in for the Thursday late night Happy Hour(4−10pm). From pictures you can already see the place is super sexy and they keep the lights dimly light just enough to set a nice ambiance without making you sleepy or running the risk of making you mistake your date for a Denzel Washington when he’s more of a Dennis Rodman. I ordered the fried pickles, butternut squash bisque, and white bean hummus and at $ 4-$ 6 each they were well worth it. The pickles weren’t too greasy(until you got to the bottom ones) and the fried banana peppers were an odd addition but it worked. For the hummus instead of bread the dish came with large carrot wafer slices which I loved! Also, there’s swirls of celery accenting the hummus-pretty fancy! The superstar of my order was the butternut squash bisque. Let me just say that it was the best I’ve ever tasted, HANDSDOWN– and I’ve had plenty! It was St. Patty’s day when we visited so I was able to find a park I’m thinking because most everyone was probably in the busier parts of Canton and Fells Point but just be mindful it is a neighborhood and a few blocks up from such neighborhood faves as Of Love & Regret, etc, so expect the parking spot shuffle.

Came here for Valentines Day so I believe it was a specific menu for V-Day. Definitely one of those restaraunts where you’re paying a lot of money for a little food. I ordered the lamb… This rack of lamb was really more like 3 pieces. It came with a chocolate sauce which… Was weird to me. I tried it but I just couldn’t fade chocolate on lamb. The lamb also wasn’t the tastiest. I’ve had better from my dads kitchen! The ambiance is very nice here, though. I liked the feel of the place!

I was looking for a dinner spot we had never dined at for my Wife and Mother and I before our casino and concert night out. I came across Blue Hill Tavern on Unilocal. After researching the menu, location and skimming a hand full of reviews we made reservations for 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. Arriving we had no issues finding an easy, close parking spot. Also I noticed they offered valet which I feel is a very nice touch since parking could be tricky later in the evening. We arrived into the restaurant at 6:10pm and greeted very kindly by the Valet person, who also opened the door for us with a smile. My first impression as I scanned the first floor was wow, my kind of place. The ambiance and atmosphere reminded me of Manhattan meets South Beach in the heart of Charm City. Stunning bar area, sexy to say the least complimented by a waterfall behind the bar. I can not wait to just go back for cocktails. Funky luminescent glows of blue, stainless steel, a glass stairway and dark wood give the place character that lives up to its name. We were seated immediately which was superb since we had a busy itinerary after dinner. We were seated upstairs and the I noticed the snake skin chair upholstery as I sat down. Totally pimp and clearly done in good taste. Our server was Dan. He gave us immaculate service from start to finish. I had many questions for him since I myself am in the industry and he handled everything like a knowledgable professional gentleman. Our water never went below half and all of our courses came out on the dime and on time. We ordered Dirty Martini with blue cheese olives, Blue Hill Sangria, Blueberry Mojito from the menu. All the drinks were delicious and great portions. Some of our highlights were Duck Confit Gnocchi, rich and robust with an orange zest that adds the perfect amount of acid to the heartiness of the duck. The Grilled Octopus was gorgeous and extremely tender. The Pear Salad was impressive. The combination of candied walnuts in port wine, matched with the blue cheese, tender pear and pickled red onions over crisp field greens knocked this starter out of the park. Main dishes were enjoyable and our Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. I asked for medium rare, red center pink middle and that’s exactly what was sent to the table. The black truffle butter was appreciated as was the horseradish cream served on the side. I felt the 16oz. portion was a super value at 39. dollar price point y 2 people could share this. The second entrée were the crab cakes. Listed on the menu as Double Surf, 2 cakes and some corn and potato hash. Being a native Baltimorean I just wanted to love these crab cakes however I felt like they fell short on creaminess and flavor. Our sides were spinach and Mac and cheese which were just average but at least came out piping hot. We ordered the Candy Bar for dessert which was basically a an ice cream sundae jammed into a Mason Jar. It was pretty rad and everybody enjoyed the peanut mousse, burned marshmallow(in a good way) and the chocolate. The wine list was decent and we did find a bottle of 2009 Cade Napa Valley Cab which had a 99. price point listed on the menu. When it was brought out to the table I noticed the vintage was 2012 on the label. When I asked about the discrepancy I was told the 2009 was gone and they were replacing that with the 2012 at the same price. Worth notating however luckily 2012 was a damn fine year for Napa reds. In conclusion we would highly recommend the Blue Hill Tavern for your next special occasion. Chef Brett Lockard certainly has created a gem stone for Baltimore. I am looking forward to getting back once the weather breaks since they have a fabulous outside area for dining. I anticipate trying some of the other menu items since there are some really intriguing creations available.

If you ask anyone for a recommendation for a nice restaurant in Canton, odds are they will suggest Blue Hill Tavern. It’s easy to see why, the restaurant is beautiful, if you’re looking for nice outdoor dining in the summer, Blue Hill Tavern has a great patio where you can enjoy your meal. I heard that Blue Hill Tavern has a wonderful hamburger so one of my friends and I headed over to check out the restaurant. My friend that I was with, was in the mood for a classic pairing, steak and a salad. Blue Hill Tavern is a nice restaurant, it’s the type of place where a steak wouldn’t disappoint you. My friend chose the Caesar Salad which came with baby romaine, garlic croûton, and shaved parmesan cheese. It was a caesar salad from a nice American restaurant, unsurprisingly it was wonderful. The dressing was creamy and the lettuce was fresh, it was a great Caesar Salad. I decided to start with the Tomato Soup. The soup was thick and creamy and came with a delicious cheese encrusted croûton. It was a perfect starter. As I mentioned earlier, my friend ordered the NY Strip Steak. She was very happy about her decision. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Served with a bourbon blueberry glaze, a scalloped potato and green beans. I had heard Blue Hill Tavern had one of the best burgers in the city. So of course I needed to order it. The Wagyu Beef Tavern Burger came on a brioche roll topped with cheddar cheese, crispy fried onions, spiced ketchup, and bacon. The burger was good, but was it my favorite burger in Baltimore? Probably not. I prefer some of the options I can build myself over at Abbey Burger or the Bordeaux Burger at Myth and Moonshine. Overall my friend and I really enjoyed our meals, but I wouldn’t head over here for the burger alone. I’d be way happier with something else on the menu.

We had a groupon and made reservations in advance at Blue Hill. The pizzas here were surprisingly tasty and filling; especially the granny smith apple and prosciutto pizza. They also had complimentary valet parking.

The ambiance is beautiful. It’s a cute trendy place to grab drinks. They have a rooftop bar which is relaxing to go on nice nights. The food is OK. I personally think it’s overpriced for what it is.

Definitely one of my best restaurant experiences in Baltimore. Really modern, leaning towards upscale spot right on the corner of Conkling St. They offer complimentary valet service as parking can be a bit tough in the middle of this residential neighborhood. Restaurant looks great, spaced out over two floors with inside and outside dining. I was inside on the second floor and enjoyed the space overall. Even inside, nice glass windows to give you a decent view of the surrounding area. I saw a great sight on the rooftop across the street during my visit. Food for the most part was excellent. Started with the rabbit empanadas, breading was flavorful and not overly thick, rabbit meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. Followed this up with one of their wood oven pizzas, pizza was flat-bread variety with decent cheese and sauce but not overly filing. Also sampled the mushroom wellington, interesting twist on the wellington and something I had never tried before. Mushroom was flavor though a tad over salted, pastry covering was well prepared and added a nice crunch. Corn, capers and potato hash was just okay and the only part of the meal I wasn’t really satisfied with. One of the better new restaurants in Baltimore and well worth a visit.

Came to Blue Hill Tavern for bottomless brunch on July 4th weekend! They actually take reservations for brunch, so you don’t have to wait hours on hours to get seated. They have bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, red sangria and white sangria and the cool thing is that you can mix it up! I didn’t try the Bloody Mary because I am not a fan of them, but all of the other drinks are pretty good and decently strong too. The service was a little slow in terms of drinks but in the end we all got our share of drinks. The bottomless brunch option is definitely worth it because it’s $ 9.95 with the purchase of an entrée and one drink is already around $ 8. For food, I got the Eggs Benedict, which were wonderfully done. The eggs were perfectly poached on toasted English muffin with a creamy hollandaisse sauce! Definitely would recommend for brunch :)

Even something about sitting at the bar makes for a great time. The beers are delicious, only a tad over priced, for beer, but normal for a nice restaurant in Baltimore. If you like calamari, get the appetizer. The combination of the chili-lime sauce, peanuts, and mixed greens with the flash fried perfect temperatures calamari is just right. Come during happy hour for a price happier on the wallet. Go and try different things as most are delicious on the menu. Check my pictures to make mouths water. Cheers.
