It’s like Chipotle for Korean food! I had the be bowl with beef bulgogi. The meet was very flavorful and I liked that there were so many options for toppings. There is a limit to the number of toppings, however, so keep that in mind as you pick. Overall, great place for a quick and casual bite of Korean food.

Pleasantly surprised. The décor/style was modern fast casual, nothing edgy and new but nothing kitsch or distasteful. The female who assisted me was very pleasant and helpful. The food was good. i had the stone bowl, sure the rice wasnt the best, but I was pleased with all the other ingredients and the fact that the rice crusted well in the stone bowl satisfied me. Nothing like mushy rice all the way through your bulgogi to ruin the dish. The egg was done well as well. I guess I would have liked a little more rice thought. All in all it was a great place with great options and great food. Nothing was extraordinarily remarkable albeit I will definitely be returning for more ^_^

Love love love!!! Everything is so healthy. A Korean chipotle. You pick what you want(up to 5 toppings). I got the spicy pork belly with eggplant and lots of other random stuff. 5 different choices of rice. And topped it off with spicy mayo and sesame seed oil. I wish there was one closer to me!!!

I visited the location in the Mt. Vernon market. The staff are attentive and offer some great suggestions for sauce. They will try to sell you on the #1 sauce, but be warned — it is spicy. I ordered a barley rice bowl with Korean BBQ and then added some kale and edamame. The portion didn’t look like much at first but it filled me up, although not in a food coma kind of way. Overall, I felt pretty good about eating here. The meal is hearty but healthy. I will go back.

If you like chipotle, check this spot out. I got a chicken BeBowl. It came with rice and 7 veggie options. It was a great fresh dish that introduced me to a few new flavores with the sauce selection. They allow you to sample the sauces and veggie items. I got the Citroen sauce, which had a orangish flavor and added sesame oil and seeds. The Hubby was sweating from his bowl so he was happy with his sauce and kimchi. My bowl took two sittings but would have finished with an egg maybe. Will return to try more. 4 stars because of price w/no egg.

3 words: Hot. Stone. Bowl. OMG. Ok that was 4… or 6 with the abbrev? But who’s counting? Certainly me… as I try to choose from the seemingly hundreds of delicious looking toppings. How did I get to 7 so fast!!! But really it’s ok because they are all so good. ESPECIALLY with the crispy rice that magically materializes at the bottom of the hot stone bowl. There are only a few places worth traveling to in Baltimore and this is one of them! In love!

I was impressed by the selection of veggies for the bibimbap dish. I had seaweed, bean sprouts, and RADISHKIMCHI(Yum, my favorite) with many others. They allowed me to pick a pretty large number of veggie toppings. I also tried the fried kimchi with fried tofu. It’s not my thing, but it was an interesting dish. I recommend trying it. Overall, great service plus excellent product. I wish the price was a little bit lower for the product but given it’s in Baltimore, I accept it. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been to Seoul, and I shop at H-Mart. Korean food is my friend, my lover, my dewy spring daffodil at sunrise. First, this concept needs to take off: in 10 years, I expect to see a Brown Rice next to every Chipotle and Starbucks. A Build-A-Bibimbap in every mall, a chicken in every pot. My only complaint is that their spiciest sauce needs to be spicier… please do not underestimate the American gutter palate. While we’re talking about the future and all, my hope is that ordering(and introductions) will be more commonly quantified, and therefore more helpful. Hi, I’m Steph, a Scoville scale 350,000 and a Kinsey 3! Let us hope and pray that gorgeous robots take this shit to the next level.

Cute little place that is pretty modern and clean, but in an unexpected area. We almost walked right by. Build your own bowls with choice of different kinds of rice or a kale salad for a base — then a protein — then veggie toppings. Everything is really fresh and the servers are great with suggestions if you’re a little overwhelmed(like I was). Quick, reasonably priced, and tasty!

So think Chipotle meets Bibimbap! Pick a size of biodegradable, compostable and/or recyclable bowl. Add rice: white, brown, Jasmine, barley, multigrain, or greens of you’re going for that low carb thing. Pick a meat: chicken, pork, tofu, salmon, cod, squid, shrimp, spicy pork belly with squid, seafood fish cake ball, kalbi. Top it with 5 – 7 of these: spinach, bean sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, pickled radishes, carrots, bok choy, broccoli, lettuce, zucchini, grilled carrots, sautéed onions, green beans, pickled vegetables, tomatoes, corn, edamame, kale, kimchi, radish kimchi. Throw some sauce on it and enjoy! Sounds tasty right?! And they just opened a location in Mount Vernon Marketplace(520 Park), so get you some fast-cas Korean.

Brown Rice is situated on a decent section of N Charles Street. They’re a small shop with about 15 tables for casual, cafeteria style dining. Diners create a rice«bowl» out of their choices of rice, meats, and a plethora of Korean-style condiments. I was fairly disappointed with our bowl. With the number of ingredients and their variation in flavors, I was expecting a much more exciting dish. We got the beef bulgogi bowl with jasmine rice and a smattering of Korean culinary accouterments. The rice, which sits in rice cookers was undercooked, lacking the kiss of aromatic sweetness to which I’ve come to expect from the Jasmine varietal. There was still a slight crunch and resistance on the bite, which I don’t think I need to explain is less than desirable. The beef bulgogi was overcooked, and didn’t pack and flavor punch on the pallette. Where I was hoping for a savory, oystery, charred beefy crunch experience, I was left despondently asking for a napkin to wipe away my culinary sorrow. The toppings were good. The seaweed and kimchi were standouts, adding some earthy, marine flavors to an otherwise modest flavor profile. I’d send you elsewhere. This just wasn’t an impressive bowl.

This place is like the Chipotle of Bibimbap. I really like it — on the verge of 5 star. I had barley as my rice(not that it’s rice), and other stuff I picked. They heated it up in a stone bowl and cooked an egg on it. We sat at a little industrial style table and they brought out our finished product. Both were enjoyed thoroughly — but we haven’t been back in months, after that one time(if it were in our neighborhood, we’d probably be regulars). If I do visit again and like it as much or more, I’ll revise this upwards.

This place reminds me of a «chipotle» style, fast food Korean restaurant. Albeit, the food is tastier than fast food. I definitely understand why some people would be turned off by this setup as Korean food isn’t necessarily meant or envisioned for this. I, personally admit, that I was one of those who was suspicious and wasn’t overly thrilled about coming. I’ll also be the first to admit, I was wrong and I’m glad I did come. It works. The setup works. The food is good, tasty, fast and worth the trip. Prices are pretty reasonable too. It doesn’t necessarily fit into the mold of genuine Korean food. For example, they have their variations of dol sot bimbim bahp. It’s good but it’s not the real thing. Overall, definitely a nice and novel idea. I’d go again but if I have cravings for real Korean food, I’d probably go to an actual restaurant. Overall, good place though.

Friend n I went to check this place out… you want a quick eat… u can go here… but we both had better at Lotte n HMart. We both had the stone bowl – which was not hot enough. Also they didn’t give enough gochujang-Korean hot pepper sauce or sesame oil or even the option for us add more at the table with squeeze bottles. You want more, you have to go walk up and ask. I did like the choices for protein– spicy chicken, bulgogi, pork, galbi, shrimp(was fried and breaded), salmon. As for the kimchi pancakes — it was more batter than kimchi. Had better elsewhere. The place is like chipotle for bibim bap. Good starting point for someone unfamiliar or new to bibimbap.

I came here alone. Yes, alone. I relocated for a job and thus begins the Alone Adventures in Baltimore Pt 1. I’ve been busy unpacking and settling in that I haven’t had any time to cook anything. As I was scrolling through Amazon Prime, I noticed the $ 10 off first purchase(code EATNOW10) and found Brown Rice Korean Grill. Intrigued and hungry I proceeded to browse menu and ordered. I got the Seafood Pajeon and Super Kalbi Bowl. Note-You can only have up to 7 vegetables/toppings. Any more is extra. The food was delivered within an hour and wow I’m impressed with the portions. For a big boy like me to not finish and save it for later means a lot. They did not cheap out on portion size and priced reasonably. Don’t worry baby, I’ll be back to visit the brick store soon!

We were driving down St. Paul when I remembered that Brown Rice was in the area. We decided to share a bowl and it was SODELICIOUS! We picked the superbowl — it comes with two scoops of meat, 7 vegs/toppings and we also added a fried egg for a surcharge. For my meat, I chose spicy beef and salmon. The salmon were in small nugget-like pieces and there were about 5 of them. The spicy beef was flavorful, not super spicy, and some pieces were a little chewy. The veggies/toppings were also amazing. We tried: fishcake, seaweed, kim chee cucumbers, sweet black beans, tempura eggplant, bean sprouts, and mushrooms. For the superbowl and egg, it was $ 12. I also got a small rice soda/tea. It was the size of half a regular sized soda can and cost $ 2. We parked right on the street, and it looks like there’s a small lot next to it. The two people who helped us at the counter were really sweet and informative when we asked questions. Overall, we would probably come back again. However, my boyfriend thought their portions of the vegs were pretty stingy and I agree. For both the eggplant and the mushrooms, there were only a few pieces of each.

Came here to eat this week. It reminded me of a chipotle style bim bim bop. The service is very fast if you are ordering the bim bim bop because the ingredients are assembled line style for you. First you choose your type of rice: barley, multigrain, brown, or white rice. We had a mix of brown and barley. Second you choose your protein: bulgogi, spicy chicken, spicy pork, and a few others. Third you choose your added ingredients which is basically pop chon. There are more traditional pon chon, and more westernized ingredients that you would see at a salad bar. Fourth you choose your sauce. Very delicious and fast. Friendly service. We also ordered the spicy kalbi soup and the seafood pancake which took longer to come out. The restaurant is ver small but clean. Free refill on fountain drinks. Not a lot of seating for large groups. We came for lunch so we saw a lot of people just coming in and out with fast service. They also deliver food within a 1.5 mile radius. This is the closest I have seen to Korean fast good. Very good though.

Good find! Definitely a place I will come back to. Around 2:00pm on a Friday, my boyfriend and I chose to check out Brown Rice based on the reviews. We made our own bibimbap, and were given 5 different rice options to start and 4 different meats to choose from(similar to chipotle). He had the chicken bulgogi, which he went back and got an extra scoop of(additional $ 3.00). I had the beef bulgogi and both are highly recommended. Overall, the place has friendly staff, a decent amount of seating, nice laid-back atmosphere inside, and a lot of different options to choose from.

This is one of my new favorite places to eat in Baltimore. If you want some tasty Korean food, this is the place to come. First, the service was fantastic. It was my first time visiting and the staff was really nice to take time explaining how the bibimbap bowls worked and my questions about some of the dishes. I didn’t get the bibimbap bowl this time but it looked so delicious. I had the fried kimchi with tofu and brown rice. It also comes with pork belly but as a vegetarian I just asked for extra tofu. It’s not as quick as the bowls, but it’s worth the wait. The kimchi was perfect and the tofu wasn’t fried I don’t think but it had this perfect little coating to give it texture. If you love kimchi, it’s amazing and a great sized portion. The dish was $ 12 and I wish it cost a bit less, but I don’t really mind, one of the best Korean dishes I’ve ever had, if not the best. I think the dining area inside the restaurant aren’t super cute but it’s functional.

What a happy accident stumbling upon Brown Rice Korean Grill was! I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by Dawn’s Office Supply and was disappointed to find it closed, perhaps for good. As I made my way back to my car, I noticed I had parked right in front of Brown Rice Korean Grill. I figured I would peek in and see what it was all about. My cashiers, DJ and Brenda, were awesome — walking me through each step of the«making my own bowl» process and recommending options along the way. I was really impressed that they not only had white and brown rice, but whole grain as well. There were also plenty of kimchi options and egg or tofu if you wanted protein but not too much meat. The bowl was served with a complimentary bowl of miso soup. One of the managers, Heather, came by and offered me and another customer a cup of one of their two green tea options, which was fabulous. So good in fact, that I ordered the other option to go just because I knew it would be good too. I was not disappointed. Whenever I am in Charles Village, I will definitely be making a stop here. Great food. Affordable prices. Outstanding customer service. What more could you ask for? 5 stars!
