Café Gourmet has the best Turkey BLT, I have literally had it everyday this past week its that good. I walk to Café Gourmet its in a perfect area right off MLK. The café it self is very clean and gives you like an airy feeling. The staff is always polite and very helpful. The french fries are made to order which means they are very fresh and crispy I love them so much. The café is also not that expensive you can get a full meal for $ 9, which is the upgrade to fries otherwise its chips or something lighter as a side. But overall very family friendly and the perfect breakfast or lunch spot. Oh and they have a beautiful outdoor setting for that perfect sunny day.

Great little place to get something quick, affordable and good. They serve the local university crowd so prices aren’t bad and have a decent healthy selection. They have the breakfast staples and a big lunch/dinner menu. The coffee is really, really good.

I wanted coffee. They did not have coffee at the time. Something about the espresso machine… she offered me tea. Maybe better luck next time

‘Meh’ about says it all. I work in the building across the street, and have been here many-a-time. The breakfast sandwich is just about the only thing that’s worth coming here for. The rest of the food is edible but overpriced and the menu never changes(as it’s one of the few options in the area, this can be an issue). Overall, I wouldn’t don’t go here, but it’s not worth going out of your way for.

Not a bad place to grab coffee or food if you are in the area. Café Gourmet is on the corner of one of the buildings near the University of Maryland’s Biopark area. The interior is cozy and inviting and there’s outdoor seating available too. In terms of the food, I had the chicken orzo soup, Maryland crab soup, and a pot roast sandwich. The pot roast sandwich was great. There was a lot of meat and it was all very tender. I’d have preferred a little more aioli but it’s wasn’t bad tasting by any means. I’d probably pick it up again. The Maryland crab soup had good flavor. It also had a lot of crab meat. However, the veggies in the soup tasted canned. It was still a good soup though and would definitely hit the spot on a cold, winter day. Unfortunately, the chicken orzo soup fell a little flat. While the flavors were all there, it was incredibly greasy. As in this-was-probably-the-most-greasiest-soup-I-ever-had. The soup left a film of slimy, greasy ungoodness after each spoonful. I couldn’t finish it. It had promise but unfortunately, it just fell flat. The soups also come with the option of cornbread or crackers. The cornbread I had was okay. It was a little sticky and more cake-like than I’d have preferred. I’ve also picked up the coffee here on several occasions. There’s actually a good amount of different coffee styles and flavors. I drink my coffee black so keep that in mind: The Costa Rica tarrazu rainforest coffee I had was pretty good. It was smooth but had a little citrus-y flavor that you could taste at the end. It was vaguely reminiscent of the ndaroini peaberry coffee I had and reviewed at Artifact Coffee… but was also cheaper. The Pumpkin Spice coffee smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, it tasted a little strange too me… it almost had a raw pumpkin taste to it. Maybe I needed to add sugar. There’s a good amount of seats in the café, though if you come during the lunch time rush, you may have trouble finding seats. I will say though that the booths had very narrow tables(not a big deal though) and if you’re sitting in a booth with your back to another person sitting on the other side of the booth, you will feel every move they make. It can get a little annoying. haha. But overall, Café Gourmet is a nice place to grab some coffee and food. And if you are stressed from work or school, you might like to know that they have alcohol here as well: P

This place is great! I go to school nearby and always stop by for a cup of coffee or a breakfast sandwich. They have a wide selection of drip coffee and this month, the featured coffee is pumpkin spice which is awesome. It definitely wakes you up in the morning. Their bagels are really good. I’ve had plenty of bagels but theirs, it’s like, chewy in the inside and then has a nice crunch on the exterior. Definitely a solid bagel. If you go for lunch, they have some pretty good items on their menu. They recently changed it and also have something close to Panera’s options where you can choose 2 items(like a salad and soup, or sandwich, etc). I’ve had their burger and it’s pretty solid as well. Their fries are REALLY good. They also make their own chips so that’s pretty stellar too. All in all, café gourmet holds true to its name. You can probably find me here on any given morning before an exam, trying to cram. It’s pretty empty and also they have sofa seats as well regular chairs. There’s also outside seating under a canopy for ya’ll fancy folks that like to sip coffee outside while enjoying the weather. Peace.

Awesome place! I’ve gotten two paninis: –pesto chicken –turkey bacon both with a side salad in lieu of chips or fries. They have daily soup and sandwich specials that always sound amazing, next time I might brave and try one. Not a lot of vegetarian options. They also serve breakfast. Service is very good and the people are very friendly! They also have beer and wine!
