WOW. what a place. Really cool. I stopped by after leaving homeslyce and saw the show inside and had to take a close look. What a place. Belly dancing show and really good food. I tried the mixed kabob appetizer which had lamb, beef and chicken and it was very good. I have to come back with a group next time. I saw the main room upstairs had groups for dinner and it look amazing.

Got to give credit upfront for amazing décor. They have very cool decorative lights hanging in various colors. We kept joking about stealing one. Dim blue and pink lighting under the bar as well. Real cool atmosphere. On a weekend afternoon in downtown, it was pretty empty, which we couldn’t understand because it was so freaking delicious. We came for lunch and wanted lunch fare, so we split one salmon club and one falafel sandwich. Both were tasty, but the falafel was the consensus fave. The patties tasted very fresh and full of flavor. Not overly crunchy either. Good stuff. They serve the sandwiches with fries and a little salad, too, so it’ll fill you up. Good deal. For dessert, we decided to go with a cocktail, and we shared a Turkish coffeetini. Oh baby. So freaking good. Coffee mixed with espresso vodka, frangelico, and baileys served in a martini glass. It’s like drinking coffee ice cream. Creamy, rich, decadent, everything you could want in a dessert drink. We loved our time here and highly recommend it to anyone downtown.

My wife bought a Groupon for this place and it was the second best decision she ever made(first decision was to marry me ;)). We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation because we weren’t aware that they were going to need one. However, the hostess did a great job of seating us promptly. My wife ordered the adana Iskandar and I ordered the chicken with tomato sauce. Both were awesome! Service was impeccable and the food was delicious with good quantity. The prices are a bit steep which is what the Groupon is there for. To end the day, my wife ordered the dessert platter(of course) which contained 5 desserts which was more then plenty for two people.

They took 30+ minutes to take orders from a large birthday party, which is nuts. We were all starving and starting to get cranky by the time they even brought menus to the table. Since there was a reservation, they should have been better prepared. However, the service was good once we placed our orders, the belly dance show at 9 was fun, and the food was very, very good. We spent some time in Turkey recently, and this was on point– especially the lamb and chicken kabobs. Even the Turkish house wine was good, so all around(despite the slow start), we would go back.

Tried this place for the first time the other day. Came on a Sunday night at 6 P.M. Had no problem with seating. Decided to order Sultan’s platter with SO. Cold mezze was pretty good(4 stars) and we got to try a lot of different things with warm bread(but for $ 20 it must be good!). Our second course was served on a huge platter so presentation was very fun. As much as I wanted to love it, everything was a bit dry(of course, sauce made it better, but the meats themselves were slightly disappointing including the chicken and lamb). There was a «salad» to go with it though, which was refreshing. I did also enjoy the grilled shrimp and salmon. We ended up taking leftovers home(beware, the container is paper-based though so if you stuff everything in there, it needs support to not bend). I am a huge fan of baklava so I did enjoy dessert, however, I thought the portions were very small considering the price. After tax, tip, etc. it was around $ 85. Good experience but for the price and main course, it was alright.

The last time I was inside Cazbar was 2011. If I remember, there was this event called ‘Elite Event: Unilocal’s Turkish Temptation @ Cazbar’ that took place on a warm August evening. I remember great refreshments, good people, and some belly dancers(of course I remembered that part the most). Nonetheless, it was time to go back, but for date night on a warm winter Friday night. I already knew the night was going to be great because I found parking dab in the front of the restaurant. Once we were inside, we were taken to the top floor, where tables of patrons were anticipating the infamous 9:30 belly dancing show. Our table was literally right smack dab in the middle of all the action but it was OK. On the real, I was hungry. James Wright feenin’ for Patty Labelle Sweet Potato Pies in Super-Walmart type hungry. With that said, we ordered food. I ordered the Chicken Shish Kebap, and my lady ordered the Lamb Shish Kebap. Both entrees turned out to be excellent selections, and we were extremely satisfied with how the food was cooked. I actually think I liked the Lamb more, so I’ll try out the Lamb next time I come to Cazbar. As far as the belly dancing show, you already know that the dancer was on point. She kept the crowd pleased. I would suggest to anyone looking to come to Cazbar for the belly dancing shows on the weekend(Friday and Saturday) to come at least an hour in advance to find decent seating. If it wasn’t for us making reservations, I don’t know if we would have been able to sit on the top floor. This was a great time overall, and it was good to actually come back to Cazbar for an actual dining experience. We will be back for sure.

I honestly do not review restaurants because I believe that if you decided to open one you know that you’re a good cook. Came with friends for new year eve and I’m just speechless first time in my entire five years at the USA that I feel like I got the value back for my money, thank you Cazbar !

Looking for a local place to experience Turkey without purchasing a flight and heading out there? Cazbar is the place! My boyfriend and I came here for date night. After stepping into the place, I was immediately filled with nostalgia for my short week trip to Turkey 5 years ago. The ambiance and décor is great! The place was filled with authentic Turkish decorations: the evil eye pendant when you enter the establishment, the Turkey lanterns, the Turkish ceramic plates with tulip patterning. It really took me back to the days when we were wandering the streets of Turkey, exploring mosques by day, and eating all night long. Turkish food is some of my favorite – the multiple courses, starting off with a plethora of meze plates, followed by a variety of delicious meats! So naturally, we had to get the Sultan’s platter. There was no way I wasn’t trying as many of the meze’s as possible. Our first course was a variety of cold meze’s. My favorites were the hummus, baba ghanoush(eggplant purée), saksuka(slow-cooked eggplant, zuccini and squash), and haydari(AMAZING dill and garlic yogurt dip). I ended up gorging myself on all the dips. We definitely had to ask for a second basket of bread. By the time we got to our second course, THEMEATS!, I was already fairly full. The salmon and the shrimp were VERYGOOD. The lamb was also amazing. I didn’t get a chance to try everything else as I was already very stuffed, so we got the rest to go. The baklava was good, not the best I’ve ever had, but still very good. We also ordered two drinks, the peared champagne and the Turkish coffeetini. The peared champagne was like pear heaven, even the maraschino tasted like pear. Very delicious! The Turkish coffeetini was also amazing – especially for those who love espresso and Bailey’s. Mmmmmmm. Overall, a great experience! Definitely a place to check out to get the full Mediterranean experience. If you aren’t as hungry, be ware that the Sultan’s platter is a TONOFFOOD, but oh so delicious!

Date night!!! Service was good, waitress recommended drinks, apps and meal options. Throughly enjoyed the entire experience. Sit upstairs to enjoy the belly dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. Why not 5 stars? One of the lamb dishes was dry. Server mixed up some Turkish yum yum sauce for us and it helped with the dry meat. Nice atmosphere, after belly dancing they keep the lights low and play music. Highly recommend for a date due to the intimate setting.

Great decorations(I hate those authentic places with other culture decorations!!) They took for a journey in Turkey without I leave downtown Baltimore! The location was great! And now to the most important part! The food! Wow wow wow! It’s amazing! We tried many thing every thing was perfect even Mezza and bread were special and yummy! That’s a must go spot and I wish if they were in our area

Right now they have a groupon deal which is a great deal for the quality of food at cazbar. The ambiance is very authentic and is a great place for a date. We had an excellent server who was courteous and let us enjoy our late lunch into almost dinner conversation. Did not feel rushed and we were both able to enjoy our Turkish wine, food and coffee. The servings were generous which would be great for a large group dinner. I’m definitely going back. I especially enjoyed the presentation of their Turkish coffee.

I enjoyed my meal and the belly dance show. The server seemed overwhelmed and scrambled to accommodate our large group. The crowd died down after the show, which was shorter than expected. I did not enjoy my drink at all. The waitress refused to place an order because SHE doesn’t like a certain drink. Weird. This place is Good for a quick stop on a girls night out or birthday.

Great unique food and open late with delivery. I’ve had this place bother delivery and sit down. The delivery time thy give you is spot on. Make sure you give about 45min time before you plan to eat. It seems long but worth it. Especially when it will deliver late! I ordered here and it made my day. Compared to all the pizza you can get this place is so good! I came here again tonight and the Mati is amazing. Beef dumplings with yogurt sauce and butter. Trust me it’s super good. Don’t forget to try a cocktail. They have some unique choices that are delicious.

Inttoducing my friends to Mediterranean food, I had to take it slow. For being right after work, it was fairly busy. Maybe they have a good happy hour? I had the salmon club and it was packed with salmon. It came with salad and fries. For $ 14? Never seen such a value for something so delish. Friends had the chicken club and enjoyed just the same. Only thing was that the server was kinda MIA. She was kinda quiet also, especially when I was trying to get her recommendations and tips for menu items. Maybe she wasn’t in the mood to look at my face? It happens. For being a quick bite, it did the job. I saw other people on dates and celebrations so I guess this is more of a quality dinner spot.

Went here on a Monday night to try some Turkish food. We ordered the sultan platter for two. This was a lot of food for two of us so we ended up packing up more than half of it. The first course was a platter of many kinds of dips(hummus, etc) and warm soft bread. This was wonderful! I loved the spicy dip as well. The main course was every kind of meat you can think of on top of rice and some salad. It was definitely a lot of food but I found some of the meat to be dry. However, we used the dips from course 1 and then it was okay. The dessert is baklava. It wasn’t bad but it was more dense than I’m used to. I also got a Turkish coffee with another dessert(the kadayifi). This dessert was better than the baklava but no substitutions were allowed. Also, the Turkish coffee alone is $ 4 but if you order it with dessert its $ 6. I tried to do this but the server had to stop and think and seemed kind of annoyed that I wanted to do that. Overall the night was okay. I felt the service was lacking. The dishes piled before the server took them away and she disappeared at one point for a while. I also had to ask for three different take out boxes because she brought them one at a time and even though I had three boxes, I still had to ask for a plastic bag. I was disappointed at the end when I asked if they could call me a cab and they said they didn’t know of any cabs. I’m not from Baltimore so at minimum I would expect an establishment that serves alcohol to know a number for a cab company… This could be four stars if their service was better but maybe I’ll also have better luck if I order something different. Good bang for your buck but I struggle with dry meat.

I was a little disappointed, based on all of the stellar Unilocal reviews. We came in for a double date night, on a Thursday night(I would recommend a reservation — it was very crowded) and ordered a bunch of small plates, which is a great way to taste everything. I thought the manti was a little dry, as was the kebab. The meze trio sampler was good, and the flatbread was warm and tasty. They do have a lot of drink options(like blueberry soda!), which was fun. Dessert was a tiny, tiny slice of baklava with a tiny portion of Turkish coffee. I also felt like this was dry, and not as nutty or rich as some versions that I’ve had. It was topped with a dollop of what seemed like whipped cream from a can, but I could be wrong. The meal was not bad, and the server was ok(a bit patronizing at times), but I don’t think it was worth the hype.

Cazbar is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Baltimore. The décor is exceptionally beautiful, the service is incredible. I’ve had the server Chris twice now and he is the best in the business. He is so attentive, warm, and provides great recommendations for sometimes unfamiliar Turkish cuisine. I also like the belly dancing show they have on Friday and Saturday nights. The dancer is very talented and really kind as well. The food. Every single thing I’ve ever ordered here, I’ve loved with the one exception of the raki drink. It was way too strong for me and not for my liking, just not suited for my tastes. Otherwise my favorite dish is the lamb moussaka. Tonight though I ordered the lamb Adana kebap sandwich, which came with a side of salad and fries. The bread was so flavorful and the tzatziki sauce and spicier sauce were the perfect complements for my sandwich and fries. For dessert, the table shared the baklava and kunefe. The baklava was yummy but the kunefe was my favorite. So sweet and the stringy texture made it so fun to eat! Lastly, my friend ordered a semisweet Turkish coffee and it looked gorgeous. Cazbar is fabulous and I will always be a loyal customer.

Yum! Came here with a friend on the weekend. The lunch specials are awesome – lots of variety and a great deal. My friend got a lunch combo: a choice of soup, appetizer, and entrée. He picked out the pumpkin soup, the yogurtu patlican, and the doner sandwich. The pumpkin soup was sweet with a complex spice profile that I couldn’t figure out. I loved the yogurtu patlican: smoky chunks of eggplant – yum! The meat on the doner sandwich was like gyro, thinly sliced, well seasoned, but super moist at the same time. I got the adana iskendar which I would highly recommend(and can’t wait to get again!). Again, the meat was tender, well spiced, and covered in a tasty yogurt and tomato sauce. The meat and sauce sat on top of a bed of their pita bread, so the bread soaked up all the delicious juices/sauces. So good! Portions are huge! My friend took half his sandwich home, and I took half of my entrée home as well. The only downside was that we couldn’t use our groupon since it was technically a holiday(seriously, valentine’s day counts as a holiday?) but otherwise, can’t wait to come back!
