China Chef

I’ve tried China Chef twice thinking that the mediocre first time carry out might have been an anomaly, but sadly it wasn’t.
Wonton soup doesn’t have much flavor. While crab rangoon had great filling, the wrappers were soggy. (Perhaps venting the styrofoam container when they packed the order would have helped?) Chicken chow mein (the dish I use to measure all Chinese-​American carry outs) wasn’t too bad, but I wouldn’t really call it good.
On the upside: it’s a bargain and the young woman who works the front is a friendly delight.
I’ve been on a hunt to find decent and better American-​Chinese carry out (or, better yet, delivery) in Baltimore, especially in the southeast part of town, but after two times with China Chef, the search will continue.

Did not enjoy the food. Got yakka mi was terrible in gravy. Noodles were to soft. My other things were not good either. Friendly but food not good. Had to give a star to post.

I typically only do Chinese food delivery and don’t usually go to pick it up. After hearing from multiple people that China Chef was delicious I decided to give it a try. However, they do not deliver and only accept cash. They also happen to be in a rough part of town but knowing all of that, I am so glad I ordered from them anyway. The beef and broccoli was great! The broccoli was not overcooked and the flavor was awesome. The fried rice is probably the best I’ve had in Baltimore. I will only order from them from now on!

Food is excellent! High quality chicken, shrimp, and pork. This place is way better than anything in the surrounding area. I will not order from anywhere else from now on. I previously tried all the eastern avenue spots and was disappointed almost every time.
You have to pick it up, and it’s cash only. And you also must venture to the Lombard shopping complex which is always great people watching.

Best Chinese food in Baltimore in my opinion:)

My go to place for take-​out Chinese. They don’t deliver and it’s cash only, so be prepared. But the food is good, quality shrimp and veggies. The owners are great people as well.
