I just had a religious experience. Delicious shrimp cheese steak. Mike had the regular cheese steak. Both very, very good. Possibly the best we’ve had.

Not bad but not the best I’ve had. Lake trout was pretty good could use a little more seasoning. Your topical trout& chicken carry out. I’d come back if in the area.

I have been getting breakfast from here for 6 years since I worked for an armored car company. My partner suggested we go there one day for breakfast. I got me a steak egg and cheese on toast with jelly and butter on the bread. I got hooked and the husband and wife that own it is the nicest people, even now the wife remembers me after all these years. I would tell people about this spot and they tell me they got hooked on the food too.

Ok. Be warned: do not read this while hungry– you may find yourself beelining to Choi’s! Backstory: I was driving between MD and NYC and knew I had to get some food for the road and preferred to avoid the typical BK or Roy Rogers along the I-95 rest stops. Unilocal reviews said Choi’s was the place to go and not far off the highway. Got the shrimp cheesesteak, special fries, and fried chicken with mambo sauce. For the road. Now typically I eat and drive to save time and accept the fact that some food will be lost to the floor in the process. I opened up the cheesesteak at the first tollbooth… After the first bite I knew I could not sacrifice any loss of food that was this good. Had to pull over off a random exit(white marsh) and eat the entire thing along side a random curb of a random neighborhood. And… While I was at it, I demolished the chicken and fries too. It was that good. I am putting it in as a regular pit stop in my GPS for all future drives that pass through the Baltimore/DC corridor.

Totally worth the trip up here just for the trout and wings! But the fries, shrimp sandwich, steak sandwiches are all so good also! Can’t go wrong coming here.

Long list of breakfast and lunch items to choose from. You got to order the chicken and trout combo. It’s part of their name so why wouldn’t you get it the first time you come here.

Great customer service and amazing food. I was unsure of what to get and the lady was very patient with me and recommended the fish sandwich. Had no regrets! The fish was very moist with lots of flavor! Will def be going again.

Damn good fried chicken and trout. Not overly greasy, super tasty, and the hot sauce is perfect. I was dipping my fries, the fried chicken, the trout, everything goes… A gem of a fried chicken spot. Screw Popeyes(I love Popeyes). Prices are super reasonable. Kids love it too!

Chois Chicken & Trout is located in a stripped, no-frills unit in a typical looking strip mall. Unassuming and unpretentious, the restaurant does away with décor in order to focus on the thing they know best, the food. The fried chicken itself was already cooked and sitting under a heat lamp by the time I arrived for a late lunch. Despite having the typical downsides of chicken that was not freshly fried, slight sogginess and hardened skin here and there, the chicken was still very much flavorful on the inside, even for the typically dry white meat. If I had managed to grab some chicken fresh out of the frier, I would’ve enjoyed the food even more. My favorite part of the meal were the western fries, which were the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were well-seasoned, but not overly so. Finally, the shrimp + beef cheesesteak was well cooked, coming with lettuce, grilled onions, tomato, and mayo on top of well toasted bread. The food itself I would rank 4⁄5 stars. What truly made this a five star restaurant in my opinion was the management that worked there. I got to speak with the son-in-law of the owner during his off time and I learned to my surprise that the restaurant had been in business for 15 years. The husband/wife owner duo were able to remember the orders of the regulars and even at 1:00 pm there was still a rather steady flow of customers coming in and out. The son-in-law, while congenial and friendly, would still pause our conversation every few minutes to perform some minor tweaks to the food. He was never rude or abrupt about it, but you could tell that, even deep in conversation, his mind was on the operation of the restaurant. The devotion and the true dedication to their craft makes me appreciate this restaurant all the more and give it an extra star. It’s not a fancy, sit down restaurant and it shouldn’t be; Choi’s Chicken & Trout has been in business so long for a reason, and if I’m ever in the area again I’ll be sure to stop by.

This diamond in the rough take away/simple eat in place is an incredible find. It’s unassuming but the love put into the food can be tasted. Loyal customers for years continue to frequent the family owned, Choi’s Chicken & Trout. It’s not super fast food but it’s worth the small amount of wait time. Potatoes are cut fresh and battered/seasoned lightly for french fries. Some new items have been added for variety, like a classic chicken and waffle or a fried rice with chicken wings meal. If you really want to get adventurous… try a delicious classic cheese steak hoagie with some shrimp! I haven’t had a cheese steak that good anywhere outside of Philadelphia. Take adventure part two… the new item waffle is crisp, not too sweet and not too heavy. If you’re lucky, you might be able to order a bacon cheddar waffle with your chicken. Give the place a shot, service is friendly. It’s pretty easy to get to, right off the highway. Place is clean. Food is yummy! If I lived in the area, I’d be a regular!
