This place is truly a DUMP. Like the other Unilocalers have been saying. This place is running a scam on new people who have not been here before. I was sitting down with a girl and the bartender kept asking me to buy drinks like every 5−10mins. I kept saying no thanks. Then she says to talk to the girls you have to buy drinks. I then say OK how much are the drinks. She replied $ 20 a drink. I then tell the stripper it was good talking to you and goodbye. Also just for reference Diamond lounge has the worst looking girls on the block. You can even look at some of the girls and you can tell they USE drugs by the marks on their arm. Also most of the girls are out-of-shape. Lastly most of them look like they’re passing the 30’s mark.

The hubs and I decided to go to the block after church because we’re good christians like that. We planned on just getting a beer at a block club for the novelty of it, having never been to a club in the infamous block. We were walking along when a dude says,” Come on in! Couples welcome!” and we were like, «Why not?» and walked in. There was no cover which was a bonus as I would not pay cover to enter this place. Also, they price gauge the drinks to make up the difference for there being no cover. A domestic beer in a bottle is a whopping $ 7.00. The place was very small, no dance couches I could see right off. The place was all bar with a dance stage behind the bar. To tip the girls you had to fold or crumple your dollars and throw them at the stage which I do not enjoy as it makes me feel rude but there seemed no other way to tip them.(I tried folding the dollars and placing them on the bar as is custom at other clubs and the girls did not take our tips.) As for the girls, there were only two of them on shift, which was plenty for such a small and dead club during the daytime. One was attractive enough, the other not so much and on the large side. Both seemed depressed to be there like they didn’t want to be working. That made us feel guilty for even being there and making them have to dance onstage for us, especially since we were not enjoying the show. I even said,“Don’t make em dance for us if they don’t want to!” to the blonde bartender, to no avail. Neither girl even tried to greet us or talk to us. We ended up making a game of downing our over-priced crappy beers as fast as we could so we could get out of there and go someplace better. I have a feeling that dance tips are not how the girls make their money here, especially since I saw no lapdance area. I will never come here again and am a bit sad that our first block club experience was so dour. Perhaps it was a mistake to enter into the first club we got invited into by a friendly doorguy. Dude was good at his job!

TL;DR: unattractive and depressed-looking girls, ghetto feel, brightly lit, $ 25 «buy a girl a drink» scam, illegal prostitution apparently, extremely awkward tipping scheme, girls trying to get dances at the dance stage during someone’s set(since the stage is behind the bar, and the bar is the entire room, so they’ve no choice). We went down the stairs into the Diamond Lounge. It had a long bar, enough space to walk in front of the bar, and about five feet behind the bar is someone writhing to music. Cramped space, the girls are mostly cottage cheese thighs and very overweight, swaying and stripping, but nothing complex or interesting, just basically getting nekkid to club muzak. All of it is brightly lit with the magic of flourescent lighting. One of the girls sits next to me, I warn her straight off I’m not looking for private dances, but she says she just wants conversation. I’ve got my $ 5 drink(price approximate, don’t really remember, could have been more like $ 7); a few minutes into the conversation, the bartend asks if I’d like to buy my lovely conversation partner a drink. Sure, says I. That’ll be $ 25, says she. Well, obviously I see the scam now, but gracious as I am, I’ll buy, and call it my «tuition». Another 5 minutes or so and I’m asked if I’d like to buy the girl another drink. Well, no. I’ve paid my tuition and graduated, so I politely decline. The conversation was boring chit-chat(don’t get me wrong, I love chatting with the girls, this one just wasn’t interesting), which moved on to enlightening me on how the dancing structures worked. I knew I wasn’t getting a dance there, so I was only half-listening. She mentioned some higher-tier dances at $ 120 and up, and then she asked me did I know what the $ 120 dances included. No, I don’t, says I. «Intercourse» is the one-word response. I arched my eyebrows at that and expressed my surprise that such was legal. «You can get all sorts of things around here.» Still not any more interested than I was; the girl’s not my type and has nothing else to recommend her, and much more importantly I’m married, and while my wife doesn’t much mind me club-hopping, I know she’d object to that. And I can get much better, for free, from her when I get home, than I think I’m likely to get from a sex pusher. Checked with my buddies later, after we exited the club, and naturally, prostitution is no more legal there than it is in California. Meanwhile, girls are strutting their stuff behind the bar. I make a point of always tipping well, wherever I am, but settling in to get a seat and starting in the forced conversation with this girl distracted me enough that I missed tipping the first girl. When she was done, she made the rounds back behind the bar begging tips, and of course at that point I realized my gaffe and paid her(not much, we’d come on the tail end of her set). There being no obvious way to tip the girls(no rail, just the bar, and I don’t want the bartender to become confused as to whose tip it was), I assume that coming around to pester the customers is the routine way to get your tips here. Next girl starts dancing. As she finishes, I make a point to shuffle a few singles to one side in anticipation of her coming around the bar. Nothing doing, she just finishes her set and dejectedly slumps off to the other side of the bar, without pausing to collect tips from us as she quickly shuffles past us. Well now I feel like shit, we just made her shake her booty for no thanks. Third girl starts dancing. By now I realize, the only reliable way to make sure these girls get tipped, is to crumple your singles into little pebbles to minimize air resistance, and hurl them at her. Yum. But of course, that’s what we do, since what the hell else are we going to do? Half the time it misses the stage and falls short into the bartender’s walking area. We sort of sit around during this time, not enjoying ourselves. My brother’s girlfriend, and his friend who hadn’t been to a club in eight years, are probably going, is this all there is to these clubs? My brother starts texting some friends, and quickly learns that The Block is known not only for having a number of strip clubs, but known for having the ghettoist of the ghetto in strip clubs. Hustler Club is the only one that’s supposed to be decent, but we’re informed that Scores(off The Block, elsewhere) is really where it’s at. So we hustle our butts out of there, and get going. Fortunately, on our way to the door, I saw the one girl whose dancing had inadvertently been«free», and thanked her with a tip, apologizing for having missed her during her dance. I don’t remember whether there was a cover charge. The saddest club experience ever. I think I might have actually cried if our«strip club tour» had consisted entirely of such places. Hilariously, when we came back to The Block after hitting Scores(one of us had a car there), The entire Block was cordoned off by police. No idea why, but glad we left.

I went here with some friends from college 3 times and we always had a good time. It is hit or miss with the quality of girls but the drink prices are decent.

2.5 stars… Diamond lounge is one of the ghetto strip clubs on «The Block». The guy asking you to go into the club on the outside was extremely friendly and happy and he even thanked me for coming when I was leaving which was nice. The bartender was a blunt girl who seemed like she was from Brooklyn which had a certain appeal to her. $ 6 for a can of Miller Light seems pretty high so that’s a minus for me. Because the club is in the basement the ceilings were pretty low and so was the stage(which was behind the bar) so the girls were pretty limited by space. I did see the largest white girl I’ve ever seen strip before which was mildly amusing(I’m sure the brothers really got a kick out of her). The place was pretty cramped and it was interesting to see what one of these Block clubs were like and I like that there was no admission cost but I probably wouldn’t be flocking back to this one again.
