This is my third storage experience and, while the others weren’t bad, they weren’t great, like this one. Who knew I would ever be so enthusiastic about a storage facility? Certainly not me.
First, I was greeted by John and Jim. So nice and friendly. Jim started giving us the tour of the facility and he noticed that my friend is a history buff. Well, this facility is in an old bank so he gave us the «extra» tour. He took us on the roof to show us Baltimore. It was great and he is a fountain of information about the city where he grew up.
Then last week I had to bring a pick up truck and car full of boxes and furniture. It was a lot. We were trying to get it done as quickly as possible so we wanted to make as few trips as possible. Despite that it was a busy time right after work, Jim and John were so helpful to me and my movers. And they did it with a smile. I went to apologize and they were perfectly lovely about it.
As I said, I never expected to be so enthusiastic about a storage facility, but this company – and this facility – is really great.

The place is very clean and the managers are really nice and hospitable. I like that they have set open and close hours – so no one can live in the units. They also have good security. The price of storage units was much more affordable than other storage facilities close by as well.

Very impressed by the staff, the service, quality and well-​maintained facility. Only blocks from Hopkins Homewood campus, perfect for summer storage, not bad to consider for year-​long rental as well.

I had a disturbing experience at this storage unit this summer and I would advise anyone who’s considering it to exercise caution, and maybe even use another storage unit facility. The storage space next to mine was occupied by a homeless man, his friend, and his girlfriend, who constantly visited the unit with a huge foul-​smelling pile of clothes in a grocery cart and would load and unload more things from the unit. It was clear that these individuals used the unit as a sort of halfway house, which is against code and dangerous for everyone involved (including my possessions, which were stored mere feet away.) And if the stench of their unit wasn’t bad enough, the girlfriend was clearly a victim of domestic abuse: she had a black eye and the man was constantly cussing at her and verbally abusing her. I felt uncomfortable opening my unit full of my treasured belongings next to these individuals.
But my biggest problem with this whole situation was that when talked to the manager about it, he shrugged it off and said he would talk to these ‘long term tenants’ about the smell. STORAGE UNITS ARE NOT APARTMENT BUILDINGS. It’s dangerous to let people live in units, there are no bathrooms or windows, the smell is rotten, and thank god none of my things got bedbugs. Not to be a grinch, but this storage unit clearly doesn’t care about keeping your possessions safe.
