I work right above this place. and nobody from my office eats here. We had a work party there one time and the bartenders were incredibly rude. The food is average at best. which makes it the worst in the neighborhood. The beers are served in hot mugs just out of the dishwasher. so the beer is at least room temperature. The only way they get people in here is through free happy hours. I can’t wait for a new bar to come into this location.

I came here for the last game of the Ravens this past football season since some friends were in town, and the atmosphere was crazy and everyone was super excited, confetti and PURPLE everywhere!!! I ordered various appetizers, and I was still somewhat disappointed. Their nachos were covered in thick, yellow cheese sauce which made the chips soggy… and that’s all I remember. Their wings were good though so was their BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The bartenders, service, and ambience are great… the appetizers still could use a little work.

Oh Field House, thou art so close to meeting thy potential… were it not for a few slips hither and thither, you would have 4 stars sparkling in your crown. Ahem, helmet. Let me qualify that statement by specifying that this would be 4 stars for a Sports Bar, not as a dining destination. The manager of Field House surprised me by extending the invitation to bring guests to sample their new menu, at their expense. Never one to turn down free grub, I called a couple of my favorite mooks, and strolled down to the Can Company with an open mind and an empty belly. We settled into a round booth in the corner of the restaurant. The manager came out and greeted us with menus, and the waitress promptly took our drink orders. Service was fast and friendly, and the drinks and apps arrived in no time. We tried the cheesesteak spring rolls, crab and artichoke dip, as well as the ancho chicken salad and Field House salad. Both starters and salads were delicious. The cheesesteak spring roll with its ooey gooey cheese sauce and perfectly seasoned meat was a big hit. The dip was a bit skimpy on the crab, and perhaps a touch too spicy, but tasty nonetheless. The salads were my favorite part: the ancho chicken was a fiesta of flavors, with tender chicken, fresh crunchy veggies, salty bacon crumbles, and tangy BBQ Ranch dressing. The Field House salad was a nice, tamer alternative, but you can’t go wrong when you pair goat cheese with toasted pecans. For entrees, we went with sandwiches. The turkey and brie was generously portioned, but a bit bland. The crab cake was perfectly broiled, but still had too much bread for my liking, and for $ 15 at a sports bar, one would hope for a few more lumps. The best sandwich by far was the pastrami with creamy coleslaw and spicy mustard on rye, but with that said, it’s difficult to mess up deli meat. We finished with the molten chocolate lava cake, it being one of the better renditions I’ve tried. The winning point of the evening was when the bartender arrived with 3 different types of shots for us to try. The libations offered by this man made me realize that sometimes the term ‘mixologist’ is not pretentious, but in fact the only way to describe ones mastery of moonshine. I wish I could remember the catchy names he gave the drinks, but alas, I’m rocking a 75 year old’s memory in a 25 year old’s body, so I’ll have to go off of description alone. The first was a cucumber shot that was refreshing and sweet. The second was a concoction of tequila, chocolate liqueur, and cayenne pepper, garnished with a jalapeño. It was unusual, unexpected, and reminded me of Mayan hot chocolate(served savory vs. sweet, and with the same spice). The final shot was a lemon-coffee digestif, of which I was initially skeptical, but was surprised by how perfectly the two liqueurs complemented one another. Hands-down the best shots I’ve tasted in years. Overall, I would give Field House 3.5 stars when considering their tasty, inventive cocktails, but until Unilocal splices their rating scheme, I will leave it at 3 as a motivator for improvement. Food: 3 stars. Drinks: 4 stars. Worth the visit for the bartender alone.

After being contacted by Carly E. Nascimbeni the Field House GM. I was invited and agreed to sample a new menu roll out on Dec 21’s. With a new chef at the helm, things sounded promising. In the interest of full disclosure I was not paying for any of this my entire meal and drinks were on the house. I started with trying the cheese steak spring roll,(10.00) shaved rib eye, pepperjack cheese, onions served with spicy katsup. It was good, a bit greasy but very good. I ate all of it. Next I sampled crab and Artichoke dip.(13.00) The dip was baked with looked and tasted like mild cheddar and Monterrey the dip itself was thick and tasty but with a kick, could probably tone the heat down a bit, the toasted pita bread was very good, warm and high quality. I didn’t finish the dip as I wanted to save room for my crab cake sandwich.(15.00) The crab cake was served on a buttery delicious brioche bun, the cake itself was pan fried and tasted great. Much better then my last try at their crab cakes. And washing it all down with a few cold Sam Adams made for a great dining experience. Carly is a manager who listens to her customers and responds accordingly. Friendly staff, better food, awesome happy hour and all my sporting events on a billion tvs whats not to love? Two Thumbs up for The Field House !!

I was here on Monday with a group of friends for trivia. Our server was horrible. He barely came around, and he forgot multiple things… One person asked for a lemonade & he came back to the table 3 times before she had to ask for it again, and another friend ordered & never received a beer, which was on the bill. The saving grace from one star was that they have half-priced burgers for trivia and extended happy hour specials.

Oh Field House. This was the place to be maybe a year or so ago. I don’t know why. I never found the appeal of being in a place that was packed wall to wall, much like a sardeen can. A sardeen can full of what appear to be rejects from the Jersey Shore show. Service was impossibly slow. the only upside is that they have a garage next to the place, and parking is pretty ample here.

Ok, this place consistently makes me feel like I’m 100 years old. Here is why I REALLY dislike the place: 1. Music is WAY too loud– to the point it hurts your ears. 2. The food is not even good BAR food– with the exception of the cheese steak fries– whoa. 3. Every time I go there we get a waitress who’s first day is that day– how is that possible to consistently get cruddy service!!! 4. Bartenders seem to purposely avoid eye contact with you. WTF!!! I want a drink! 5. Mixed drinks are weak here 6. Menu is always changing, which could be good, but the items on the menu always seem to be a hodgepodge and don’t really make sense. 7. One time we went there we tried to use a g.c. and they said the terms changed and they wouldn’t honor the one we had One redeeming quality is that they have a pretty nice outdoor area where we like to sit with our dog. Too bad it’s not better since I live so close.

So there’s this place called the Field House that’s a bit squirreled away in the Can Company next to two steak joints. It’s got a reputation as a bit of a raucous sports bar and for this reason alone I’ve stayed away. I’m not into sports of any kind and the last thing I want is a bunch of guys screaming at a dozen flat screens while I try to enjoy a dinner with my wife. Anyway, we bought a cert, one thing led to another and yadda, yadda yadda we wound up at the Field House around 6pm on a Wednesday. The first thing you’ll notice upon entering is how massive the space feels. It’s got the original height ceilings that soar a good 50ft above you with a large open floor plan. There’s a smaller second level and your typical high-top/booth sports bar layout. Oh yeah, and there are enough flat screens in the place to make you think you’re in a Best Buy showroom. During our visit there was one other couple sitting at a booth. That’s it. The place was deserted and I liked it. We took a seat at the bar. The bartender quickly asked us what we wanted to drink and provided us with menus. He was friendly enough and not overly talkative. Perfect. I’ve got to admit, I had very low expectations of the Field House. A Baltimore sports bar? Sounds like fried food served with a side of piss-water cereal grain lager. Pleasant Surprise #1: The beer selection at the Field House is actually pretty good. There are 10 taps six of which were from actual independently owned craft breweries(Leinenkugel doesn’t count, they’re owned by SABMiller and Magic Hat was purchased by North American Breweries in 2010). There were no unusual or rare finds just the typical Baltimore craft beer offering — Flying Dog’s Raging Bitch, Dogfish Head’s 60 minute, Sam Adam’s Boston Lager and Oktoberfest(always glad to see it back this time of year), Magic Hat No 9, and Yeungling Lager. The real fun is behind the bar. Hidden in the coolers among the Corona Light and Miller High Life are some really great beers — 21st Amendment’s Back in Black Black IPA, Harpoon IPA, Shiner Bock, and Evolution Brewing’s Exile ESB. Why they keep them hidden is beyond me, but I suggest to them if they are going to have beers like these you’d be wise to print a beer list. Surprise #2: The food is actually damn good. My preconceived notions of fried wings, mozz sticks and burgers was blown out of the water. Here’s a rundown of our food experience: The Soft Pretzel Appetizer($ 8) — not a bad offering. Sure, they’re actually pretzel nuggets reminiscent of the kind I can buy in the grocery’s freezer section(you know, the ones in the black box) and sure, they came served with a side of honey mustard and the same cheese you’ll get on your nachos at the movies, but they were tasty. They were hot, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and who doesn’t like a little processed cheese sauce with their pretzels every now and then. The Field House Salad($ 10) — This one was a total surprise. The house salad features field greens(no black, rotten leaves here), julienned green apples, feta cheese, sunflower seeds and a lemon thyme vinaigrette. I know, where the hell did this come from? I’m a sucker for the green apple/vinaigrette combo and aside from the dressing being a tad too lemony for my taste, it was a great salad; overpriced(I shudder to think of the insane profit margins being made on a salad sold for $ 10), but flavorful. Turkey BLT w/House Chips($ 9) — Yeah, it’s a bit boring, but I didn’t exactly want to plop down $ 16 for an entrée at an untested site either. Another strong offering, the turkey BLT featured sliced roasted turkey breast, applewood smoked bacon, iceberg lettuce, tomato and honey mustard dressing. The menu says it comes on a multi-grain roll. It did not. The bun was more of a soft potato roll that I thought probably worked better anyway. Most things labeled«multi-grain» tend to suck the moisture out of everything they touch anyway. The house chips were nothing special, just your average tasty house-made potato chips. Surprise #3: Half-priced drinks from 4 – 7 every day? Now that’s a happy hour. The Field House is a sports bar and makes no bones about it. It’s loaded with televisions, big booths equipped with their own TVs designed to hold throngs of rabid sports fans, and the usual weekly activities one would expect of such a venue — live DJ and acoustic karaōke anyone? That being said, they manage to deliver a well-executed selection of menu items that will cause even the most hardened skeptics to take a second look. They’ve also got a cache of beer that offers up a few gems if you know where to look. I doubt we will ever venture into the Field House during any popular sporting event or manic evening dancefest, but I wouldn’t hesitate to pay them another mid-week visit for an early dinner.

Good space. Good drinks. Great fries. Please, just go for the fries! I really enjoy their happy hours and if you have celebrating to do(i.e. birthday, it’s a Friday!, someone got engaged, or it’s a Friday!). They have a lot of space for dates, double dates and large groups as well as good music and multiple flat screen televisions. Make sure you give yourself extra time to find parking :)

Yum! I came here with a few friends to grab a late lunch. It was pretty empty so we got to choose where to sit. We opted for a large round booth so that everyone could talk to each other. Everyone ordered the philly cheesesteak with provolone and I was the only one to get something different — the bacon, brie, and apple flatbread. The food came out pretty quickly and we chowed down. The guys seemed to love their cheesesteaks and I grabbed a few fries off of their plates. The fries were decent, but I like my steakfries a bit heartier and crisp, but these were sort of thin and limp. My flatbread was really good. They were generous with the bacon, brie, and apple and the portion was nicely sized for me. It was an appetizer, but I ate it as my meal, and it left me perfectly full. Our server was so nice and friendly and patient(because the guys all had trouble deciding what they wanted). I’d definitely recommend this place as a nice casual place to eat.

Part of Baltimore’s Charm are all the old row homes that now house bars and restaurants, but that can make for a difficult time finding a place for a crowd. The Field House makes up for that in three big ways which earn it 4-star rating for what, otherwise, would be a 3: 1. The place is big, accessible 2. Accessible with plenty of parking in the surrounding lots 3. Lots of options for sitting or hanging out and mingling 4. A killer happy hour M-F 4 – 7(I paid $ 10 for 2 Ketel One & Lemondes and a Bacardi and Coke) The food is fairly ordinary with apps like nachos and Old Bay fries, burgers, pizza, and a few entrées, but tasty at that. My pick: The Corn Dogs – Fresh-battered, huge and delicious.

Looking for a place to watch sports in Canton? The Field House is the place to be! Lots and lots of TVs and a couple of projection screens, attentive staff, and good food. IMHO it’s a bit pricey, but the quality is high for a sports bar. It also gets pretty packed, especially for Ravens games and UFC fights, so get there early if you want a table. Otherwise, enjoy the game with all of the friendly people at the bar.
