This was a great grocery/lunch option when I used to work in McHenry Row.
–Very clean and the staff is friendly
–The produce is good. I found it to be fresher than my supermarket near my apt in Mt. Vernon that supposedly had produce sourced from this part of Maryland itself. The prices were also lower.
–The salad/Asian food counter is a popular lunch option for people working/living nearby
–They have a lunch special section where you get to choose one main course and 2 sides for $ 5. They keep alternating the options and you’re sure to find something out of the 2 dozen bowls on the counter
–My favorite lunch option was the sub/sushi/pizza counters. 6 inch make your own subs for $ 3.50 and foot longs for $ 6. If you’re a frequent customer with a vic card, you accumulate enough points to get a free foot long sub every once in a while. I’ve tried their subs dozens of times and always went back for their breaded chicken subs. :)

As I’m stocking up my summer place with some supplies, I decided to come and check this place out. It was a short 15 minute drive from the Johns Hopkins area, and the place is not too crowded.
I walked in and perused their many offerings. I got some mangoes (my favorite fruit), sports drinks, salmon, all-beef burger patties, poultry, various seasonings/marinades, and miscellaneous house supplies. Now I have the rest of the week to cook some delicious meals.
I would like to thank Dave for showing me where everything is, and personally helping me pick out some good items. The rest of the staff was very friendly as well. Check out was not problem.
I will be coming back here as I explore more cooking ideas.

We were very excited when Harris Teeter opened. For the first few weeks it lived up to the hype but no longer. They cater to the very same people who live in the apartments in McHenry Row, suburb dwellers who buy processed, prepared, packaged garbage foods at high prices. Their produce is sadly lacking in quality and freshness. The seafood is a disaster and their meats are overpriced. This place is no better than Shoppers as far as quality and selection and with far higher prices. So it’s back to the Cross St market, farmers markets and the occasional trip to Wegmans. It’s sad because the folks who work there are generally fine people.

Clean, tidy, and well stocked. Easily accessible from downtown Baltimore. About average prices, but look for things on sale. Produce selection is pretty good too considering the «food desert» and lack of easy access to fresh foods in Baltimore.
Normally, I wouldn’t be leaving a review, but I have to give a shout out to Alice at Customer Service. We had an issue with duplicated items on our bill, and Alice helped us correct this. She had a great attitude and was very apologetic on behalf of the store, even when she didn’t do anything wrong herself! Employees like Alice make me want to shop at Harris Teeter over other grocery stores in the area!

I work on McHenry Row. As I am usually pretty short on time for lunch, HT is a great option. I signed up for their VIC card quite a while ago. It is also convenient to pick up a few groceries after work.
Overall the quality of lunch items is good and people are generally friendly.
Two things I wish they would do better at.
1. Making sure that their sub menu items are sufficiently stocked for the large lunch crowd that comes in. They should not be running out of meatballs for a meatball parm sub at noon!
2. The eating area upstairs seems to be consistently out of eating utensils and napkins/paper towels.
Those two items are why I am rating HT a 4 instead of a 5.
Overall a great place.

still impressed by the two levels and the two elevators in the store! Robin and I went to get some groceries, and as usual were greeted by nice helpful staff. We have been pleased by the variety of non meat options, both frozen and fresh. Love this store, and today as a bonus, we got to see a cruise ship leave from the port right next to store. Enough to make any shopping trip better! I love the samples of products in the store, and the savings are great!

I don’t mean to be «that» person but their organic produce selection is abysmal. They have other organic options but fresh produce is really important to me, so I’ll be sticking to MOMs and Whole Foods until that changes. I do love that they a wine shop attached!

Harris Teeter is the only reason I don’t hate grocery shopping anymore. I probably have the abundance of samples to thank. The Locust Point store is located right off of 95 (the last exit before the toll, so pay attention!) is always clean, calm and offers tons of coupons. The staff is friendly and willing to offer recommendations and help you find exactly what are looking for. Oh, and you can buy wine and beer in Sundays. What’s not to love?

This is a really pretty grocery store with a great pre-made food selection and amazing produce! Their in-store organic brands are also comprable to brand name, non-organic brands which is great. The folks at the checkout line were super helpful and sweet, which is a nice change of pace from other stores. There is also a wine and beer store attached to the main store, and parking in the garage is very convenient. My only gripe is that the store layout is a little confusing and isn’t like other stores.

My kind of grocery store! Friendly people working there, great prices, wonderful selection of everything I needed (or forgot that I needed), and I was NOT frozen out (aka being over-air conditioned).
Very easy to sign up for their VIC card (I did so during my checkout) and saved a cool $ 20+ on my purchase for the day. The Cellar is attached (a lovely wine venue) that is not associated with Harris Teeter but does provide one with a place to pick up a nice bottle of vino to go along with the dinner items just purchased in the store. Very convenient.
I like the location of this place because it doesn’t involve my having to take either Pratt St. or Lombard St. — I love those streets, mind you, but they do get terribly congested during the day and I greatly appreciate the alternate routes I can take to get to and from this store.
Wonderful first experience here — I look forward to many, many more!

Of all of the grocery stores I the area, I Iike the Harris Teeter stores the most. For one, there’s not many grocery store I know that stay open till midnight, because let’s be honest– you never know when that 4^th meal craving will strike. The fact that it has its own free parking garage is great because no one likes fighting for street parking. It’s a huge store and has a wide selection of produce, pre-made eats, great deli, artisan cheese area (during the day, they have samples out for you to try), olive bar, and many aisles of your typical canned stuff. It’s a nice, friendly store with reasonable prices in a safe area.

I always liked Harris Teeter. Just too bad l have to come across town to go there. They have a great selection of produce, cheese, deli items and great deals with the use of their loyalty card. The store is clean, well lit and the staff are helpful. Whenever l am in the area l always stop by and come out with a cartful of groceries l never intended to buy!

Very clean, amazing staff, this location has two levels which means more food and other items for everyday life.
The coffee bar is really cute. The bathroom was super clean.
The air conditioning was not to cold as well.
Also they are hiring for many opportunities at this location.

Always had a great experience there. Prices are on par with other places and grocery store. It’s always clean and the people are always friendly.
The lunch salad bar is great. I go there twice a week. Very reasonably priced and great selection. Not a huge fan of the sushi though. They have daily lung specials at the deli, such as $ 5 subs on Fridays.

I like Harris Teeter. My first experience was when I lived in North Carolina, and I was hooked. It can get a bit pricey, but with their coupon doubling, you can save heaps of dough.
I can’t lie, the main draw for me is the salad bar. I’ve perfected a way of making a pound salad delicious and satisfying. They have some great choices to really give you a diverse range of flavors (I know this sounds weird for a description of a salad bar). Been here countless times building salads for lunch and dinner.
The breakfast bar, on the other hand, is most definitely worth skipping. Maybe I don’t go early enough, but the food looks blah. I’ve also not been too impressed with their pizza. On Mondays, the pizza is crazy cheap, though.

A multi level free parking garage is directly across the street. Plus plus! Clean and organized with friendly workers. Many options and food bars available like an olive bar, antipasto, salad and hot foods. The wine/liquor store is connected to the store as well. I love the free samples that don the store… from fruits to dips… That’ll sell me any day lol.
They also serve lunch and dinner meals as soon as you enter the store. I’ve sampled their fried cod nuggets with some kind of pasta dish and both were yummy. Had to pass on the $ 9.99 price mark. I’ve seen them serving prime rib with veggies and potatoes for dinner on one occasion.
The pharmacy is upstairs by way of steps or the elevator. Nice market but I pass because of the prices of items I can get cheaper elsewhere. Check them out if nearby.

I got really excited when I saw my first Harris teeter (my 9 year old and I giggle at that name!) I thought it would be Whole-Foods-ish or Fresh-Market-ish and it is NOT.
It is a basic grocery store.
Very nice — new (ish) location and ample parking — but not fancy.
Decent produce department.
Prices seemed on par for an urban grocer. (High-ish but not horrible.)

Harris Teeter is a nice, well-stocked store in a convenient location in S. Baltimore. I am really glad they are there. That said, some of their stuff is UNGODLY expensive and you have to look high and low for a low cost alternative. They’d much rather sell you expensive organic stuff at 2x the price and hide the regular stuff. Nothing wrong with organic, but if you have no preference, the cheaper stuff should be easier to locate. Likewise their $ 20/lb artisan cheeses, whereas the standard cheddar is in another zip code.
On the plus side, their loyalty card is easy to use, they have a nice 2^nd floor for relaxing and checking in to Unilocal!Ample parking for a city location, helpful employees, and you can order ahead and have it ready if you want.
Haven’t tried their hot foods but they look ok even late in the day.
