I’m only giving this place 2 stars because the food is decent. Our experience at this restaurant was terrible and the service was horrible. Our waitress took forever to approach our table and then took another 5 min to come back and ask us what we would like to drink. We had to inquire about the specials and we also had to ask for refills of our water and ice tea. For crying out loud we had to ask her to take our order. It’s as if she forgot she was in the service industry. She never once did smile and never asked us if she could bring us anything. There were four of us and one person had a food allergy and while the kitchen was very accommodating our waitresses attitude about the food allergy was dismissive. The steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection and all of the food came out as we ordered. The kitchen staff did a great job. I wish I could say the same for our server. We would have ordered another bottle of wine and dessert but she never gave us the opportunity to. At the end of the night after we flagged our waitress down for everything we needed we asked to speak to the manager to complain about the service. I now see where the server’s dismissive attitude came from. The general manager, David Lee, listened to our complaints but just as the server did, he acted as if he didn’t care about our complaints. Hello! Have you forgotten you are here to serve your customers? He comped our bottle of wine but acted as if we were really bothering him and what was worse, is he said he spoke to the server. Bad move while we were still present. She slammed our check down on the table and never apologized for her lack of attentiveness or poor service. We have dined at Jack Binion’s many times before and never had a problem. We even asked the manager if they were short staffed tonight in order to give our waitress the benefit of the doubt. He said they were fully staffed and everything was running smoothly. I am highly disappointed with the service, or lack thereof, and even more disgusted with the attitude we received from the manager, David Lee. Considering that there are other places in Baltimore to spend the amount you spend for a steak at Bionion’s, there are other places I would prefer and that offer better hospitality and certainly better management.

Don’t get me wrong the food is good, the kitchen staff does what the menu says. We had a terrible service experience, flagging the server down every chance we had to get water, hear about specials, order drinks, ask to order more food… we were begging for service. We complained to the manager who apologized for the behavior, however the server was still unapologetic and in fact was even more dismissive after we complained about the poor service. David Lee was the manager on duty and did a horrible job handling the situation and even made it worse in his response… it became an altercation. My job is to wine and dine with a budget of over $ 10,000 a month, I have spent over $ 1,000 a month at this place and will never go back because of David Lee. You will see from my other posts, everything is positive, I rarely complain. This was a complete management failure of a young inexperienced manager and a horrible waitress. I wouldn’t rate this so badly if the management hadn’t failed as well. There is always a poor server from time to time but the management response is what truly holds water.

The ambiance is fun and cozy, and the staff is top notch! They were incredibly friendly and accommodating during my visit. I feel like you can’t go wrong with anything you select off the menu at Jack Binion’s. However, I’d recommend the Filet Mignon(The 8 oz is the smaller size, but it will certainly fill you up) and the duck fat fries. It’s absolutely worth the copious amounts of calories. But let’s be real here, if you’re coming to a steakhouse, I doubt you’re super concerned about calorie counting. All in all, Jack Binion’s Steak is a great place to dine during your visit at the Horseshoe, regardless of the occasion.

NOTWORTHIT. I’m adding an extra star because the waiter was a nice guy and we were given a discount and some free drinks/apps but this was honestly one of, if not the, worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Apps were cold, soups forgotten and a bottle of wine took a half hour. Then one of our entrees, a porterhouse which is obviously expensive, was served raw. After sending it back twice the medium rare it was supposed to be became well done. After complaining we got a free round of drinks which took 20 minutes and showed up on the bill so I had to go to the manager again. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded. Everyone has off nights but nothing went right and when you’re paying this kind of money it’s disappointing.

First timer. Treated my friend to dinner after a long day of poker. I expected the food here to be top notch which is why I took him here. Although it wasn’t bad it was not worth the value I paid. Service was sub par. The host was extremely friendly; loved it. Our server was nice but did the absolute bare minimum, she did not even know all the answers. She didn’t offer any steak sauce, but the food runner who brought out the food did. She noticed I had no sauce and offered to bring some which was nice of her. I wish I could’ve tipped the food runner instead. My steak came out burnt, idk if that’s how they cook it there but I did not like it. My buddy’s sea bass came out perfect, which was ironic since they specialize in steak. I wasn’t In the mood to wait for a recook so decided not to send it back. The steak was rough, ordered medium and came out very medium-well/well done. They did have live music, some lady playing the piano and singing. It was very enjoyable. Overpaid for this meal that was sub-par on my end. Again, service could have been better.

Really mixed feelings. Was a little surprised at the price of the soups and sides, but figured the quality and size would make up for it. not so much. the onion soup was almost double what we are used to paying. It had the most unusual presentation I’ve ever seen. it was a slightly scooped out onion! The soup was good(says husband) but there was so little, we’d advise not getting it. Ever. It was to the point of ridiculous. The 3 filet mignons we had and the steak were EXCELLENT. the sides were nothing to write home about and we wish we’d ordered less of them. The fries were good, bt not fabulous. The potatoes lyonaise were more fingerling potatoes cut up with onion. good but not what we wanted, wanted more of the buttery lyonaise flavor. and the mushrooms — well they were ok(we did expect the odd, to us, types of mushrooms, but with 4 of us splitting we didn’t get much each). The server was good. I“m always a bit surprised to have someone reach over me to hand food to the next person when they have room to walk around but it wasn’t happening all the time. in short, I’d go back but with totally different expectations. get filet and maybe split a baked potato and maybe a dessert(we brought one home, husband liked it but didn’t say much). and not expect a dining experience from aps to dessert.

Located in the Baltimore Horseshoe Casino. Came here for dinner and ordered the lamb chops as our server recommended. They were perfect– so amazing. I had a cocktail or two as well. Service was great.

Went here last night for a nice steak dinner. Off the break the aura and service were off. They had a pianist playing, which was fine, but he was singing to the songs and it made it hard to hear anything. The server we had was an older gentleman who acted like we were the last priority on his list. He spoke softly so we couldn’t even hear him over the music. It took him 10 minutes to get us our drinks starter drinks, but he managed to get the drinks for the table that sat next to us(and sat down after us) immediately. Side note: he was an African American male and the other couples that sat down next to us in his section were also African American, and he showed them more attention and enthusiasm when servicing their table… I’d like to think there wasn’t some prejudice service on his part, but it started to feel that way. Aside from the ahi tuna appetizer we got, which was AMAZING, the meals we ordered were incredibly SUBPAR. We both got filet mignons. We both ordered them black-blue. They both came out medium-rare and more on the medium side. Even if the filet mignon’s were over cooked, usually it’s the kind of cut of meat that should still taste great. However, this meat tasted incredibly bland. I got a side of the spinach carbonara. My boyfriend got a side of mashed potatoes. Again, BLANDBLANDBLAND. The red wine we ordered with dinner didn’t come out until we had already been served the food. Again, terrible slow service from our waiter. Mind you, this place wasn’t busy yet. Overall, the only reason why I give this place any stars is because the hostesses were very nice, the place was clean and the appetizer we got was absolutely delicious. However, we came to fine dining restaurant to have good quality well-cooked steaks, and the steaks were nothing but unimpressive and over cooked. The service from our waiter was inexcusable. Would I come back? Yes, I’d give it another try… Sit at the bar and get the ahi tuna appetizer and maybe try a steak again.

You know how they say not to order fish at a steak restaurant? Well that is so untrue at jack binion’s. The Chilean sea bass was to DIE for. Melt-in-your-mouth-yummy-goodness. The fried calamari was also amazing. The bread was cheesy and delicious. The wine list on the iPad is cool. The steak was good. The seafood was the best.

I’ve waited a while before writing this review, as I think my negative experience had more to do with the company I was with than with the restaurant. Let’s just say it was a bad date and leave it at that… but moving on… I got there first and had a glass of wine at the bar. The hostess and bartender were both very friendly, and I love the iPad winelist. When my date finally arrived, we were shown to our table and our server quickly took care of us with drinks and appetizers. Yes, I know it’s a steak restaurant, but neither of us had steak. He had the ahi tuna and I got the chicken, which was fabulous! I do highly recommend it, they did a fantastic job with it. The server was very knowledgable about all of the menu items, and made some great recommendations. The dessert presentation was excellent, although I did think the dessert was a bit on the dry side. Otherwise, everything about the meal itself was very good. Yes, prices are a little steep, but no worse than Ruth’s Chris or Capital Grille.

Champagne was warm… Steak was under cooked… Prices are high quality is low. The pretend piano plays 4 songs over and over. We Let the manager know but she didn’t want to take care of us. Not happy or impressed. Eat before you go to the casino

Pro’s: Great food! Great service! Great Atmosphere! Best Steak ever! Live Piano music on Fri, Sat, Sun Con’s: None! My wife and I love to gamble and eat great food! We have found the perfect place to go. It’s a little drive from where we live but so worth it. I normally do a very long and elaborate review with many details but it will not be necessary. I will make it a point to highlight what I feel makes this restaurant simply amazing! Here’s why my wife and I love this place 1. For two people, the bar is the place to sit. The bar counter is lit up which makes eating at the bar all the more inviting! The bartenders and wait staff are professional, courteous, and attentive. 2. The Piano is close to the bar and adds that extra touch of class and romance to the evening. Only on Fri, Sat, & Sun. 3. The food is simply amazing and creative. There’s nothing we haven’t tried that we disliked or weren’t amazed by. You also get complimentary rolls with butter and melted cheese. They get very busy so I’ve had to remind them on occasion I didn’t get my bread. Here’s my favorites: For the App’s: Calamari –Crispy fried with thai chili sauce, banana peppers!!! For the entrée: The 16 oz. Bone-In Filet! This is the BEST steak I’ve ever had and I’m not just saying that. The flavor and sear on this steak is AMAZING! *Now for the record, they did bring me out one time a steak that was undercooked and not seasoned as usual. I informed the manager and they recooked the steak to perfection! Sides: You can get about any of the sides you want but we love the mushrooms or the risotto to accompany the steak! Dessert: Apple Tarte Tatin — French-inspired apple pie is baked upside-down in a skillet, creating a thick caramel sauce with vanilla bean ice cream. Need I say more! Bön-appetite!

My friends and I went here on a whim after partying one night. OMG so glad we came here. The food was absolutely delicious! By far one of the BEST steakhouses I’ve been to in Baltimore. One of my friends and I ordered the 40 oz porterhouse for 2, medium well with béarnaise sauce. It was MOUTHWATERING good. Nice and juicy and not overlooked like most places! For sides we ordered the collard greens(the bomb) and mashed potatoes(quite yummy too). I would definitely come back here, but this time I’ll leave room for dessert ;-). As far service, the entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Good Tip: If you are new rewards member at the casino, you’re eligible to receive 25% off your bill. Trust me you’ll need it! This place is a little pricey, but once you taste the food I’m sure you’ll feel like it’s worth it. Can’t wait to go back!

This is the best steak restaurant that I’ve been to in Baltimore so far and it is by far the best dining option at the Horseshoe Casino, which honestly hasn’t been up to par on food options overall. I was seated immediately at the bar and had one of the best bartenders I’ve ever encountered. Really great personality. I ordered the Filet minion with a side of mushrooms. The filet was cooked perfectly and was up there with one of the better steaks I’ve ever had. Everything about the restaurant was great(minus the price, but they deliver on quality to justify it). Far better than the Prime Rib IMO.

The wife to be and I ate here on a Saturday night(during the Ravens/Steelers playoff game) without a reservation. Nestled in the Horseshoe Casino, we were quickly seated and the place looked a little dead, which i didn’t mind at all. The lighting is dim, which offers the intimate atmosphere and they provide you with an Ipad which is used as the drink/dessert menu. The dinner entrée menu is on paper. We started the meal with the Berkshire Pork Belly, and holy mother ‘effin’ moly, it was bombtastic! My fiancée wasn’t really into it(she’s not a fan of collard greens), which meant more for me, and I was indeed happy. Per the menu, it’s braised and seared crisp, on a bed of stewed collard greens and charred tomato vinaigrette. The pork was so delicate and easily pulled apart, and the added taste of collard greens with the hint of vinaigrette sent this appetizer to the top of the charts. Our server, Jeffrey, suggested we get two of them as the portion isn’t really that big, but seeing as my fiancée took a couple of bites and left the rest for me, it hit the spot(I could have easily eaten this as my main meal if were served in a bigger portion) and I was ready to try what was next. She ordered the wedge salad and per the suggestion of our server, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Jeffrey did mention that the establishment is very well known for their steaks, but their seafood is also something worth a try, which I did and was not disappointed at all. Yes, I did order seafood at a steak house, but I wanted something light and this was perfect. The sea bass was most delicious and tasted very fresh. Unhappy, I was not. My fiancée seemed to enjoy the wedge salad, but it’s a salad. with bacon on it. As for drinks, we both opted for wine. My better half got the Malbec(Don Miguel Gascon) and I, the Riesling. I was very impressed with the Riesling as I’m not too big into wines, but the sweet wine from Oregon was quite tasty. I’m pretty sure my fiancée liked the Malbec as the glass kept getting refilled. As the football game started(our main reason for the outing; GORAVENS!) we moved from the dining area to the bar. The bar top was very cool as it looked of marble and had lights illuminated underneath it so the whole bar top lit up. As we watched the game, we ordered the Duck Fat Fries in sea salt and they too were delicious(mmmm duck fat). They weren’t Oreida fries, that’s for sure. Eventually my sweet tooth kicked in and dessert was necessary. We ordered the Seasonal Crème Brulee, and again my fiancée didn’t want any part of it, and again I was happy. It was served with some sort of cookie and a pieced of decorative chocolate. Very delicious and my sweet tooth was succored. Overall, Jack Binions is a very nice place to dine especially on a date. It is a little pricey and eating here every day or weekend at that, would not fit into the dining budget(err mine rather), but as a treat or special occasion. definitely! The overall experience was very good and impressive. The staff from hostess to server was very attentive and very friendly. We will definitely be dining here again.

Who goes to a casino on Christmas? That is what I was wondering, so I went to find out. I found out that this restaurant was open, it wasn’t busy, and seems to be fully staffed. 1. We got signed in… asked for my name, age, and location… 2. We were seated(Me and Shorty) 3. We were given an iPad(drink and desert menu) 4. We were greeted with a hot waiter, with beautiful cleavage and eyes, taking our orders. 5. Ordered the Sea Bass and Tuna from the«Specialties» menu Before the meal they served complimentary sour dough bread soaked with extra yummy calories,(you know to satisfy munchies). Then the real dinner came and it wasn’t visually stunning like the waiter, but it was cooked and served at an above standard expectation. Overall it was dinner we could have cooked, but didn’t have to because the skilled chefs were working hard on a holiday! The experience was very comfortable. Thanks Jack Binion I would love to start playing poker for comp dinners here.

Had a business dinner here with people from work a few weeks ago. About 11 people in our party. 85 $ per person. We had a set menu to choose from. One appetizer(most people got the crab cake) one entrée(most went with the NY strip or Filet.) with sweet potatoes and creamed spinach as sides, and the dessert was Crème Brulee. The table had about 4⁄5 bottles of wire(excellent selection) The crab cake was BYFAR the best part of the meal. Not only was the presentation amazing, you got crab 4 ways! The actual crab cake was in the body of the crab. It was ALL huge chunks of lump meat, virtually no filling. To the right there was a crab cocktail on top of some lemon slices, and to the left were already opened claws dipped in a butter garlic sauce. They also bring out claw crackers so that you can crack the legs open from the body of the crab that the crab cake is on. It was amazing! Now for the steak — I have to say I was disappointed. I asked for medium, and it was really over cooked. I’ve gotten better steaks from Applebees to be quite honest. If it weren’t for the other redeeming qualities of the dinner I would have given this a much lower rating. The creamed spinach was also nothing to brag about, I would never order it, but it was on the set menu so everyone got some. However, the sweet potatoes were fabulous. I don’t usually like sweet potatoes, I’m old fashioned and like the regular white potatoes far too much. These though were sweet, lots of brown sugar and a little bit of nuts, it tasted kind or like a cinnamon roll, if that makes any sense! Regardless I went back for seconds and thirds for these! Lastly the crème brûlée — I honestly was so stuffed from all the other food that I could only eat a little, but it was one of the better ones that I have had in my life, so thumbs up! The macaroon however that was on top was spectacular, I wanted 5 more! All in all the atmosphere was great, the food was great, minus the over done steak. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for somewhere nice to go!
