One of my favorite spots in Baltimore! I eat at the mighty kimchi at least once a week. They have a very affordable buffet with great variety of Korean dishes. They also have delicious sandwiches. Their Kimchi is by far the best in Baltimore. Highly recommended if you like Korean food.

Terrible! Maybe I went at the wrong time(2pm) or the wrong day(Friday)? The menu was a bit hodgepodge, but given the name we were curious about the Korean food there. Sadly, this was a disappointment through and through. The Kimchi bowl was just an bowl of all you can fill or random foods like Korean chicken, pork or beef, fried fish, stuffed peppers, rice, kimchi, and some sad raw veggies. Not surprisingly, the food was lukewarm and the flavors didn’t blend well at all. The wrap sounded really interesting, and I was hoping for some sort of fusion dish, but that too was disappointing. They were out of the beef, so we asked for pork instead. The lady just took pork from the all you can fill food section and put it in a tortilla with rice and kimchi. In wrap form, the pork was super fatty and hard to eat. The wrap really needed something green to lighten up the intensity of the flavors. I really wanted to like the place, but even the store itself. turned me off. The buffet area was covered with plastic lids, but all the food looked old and tired. This place was not worth the trek out.

Heard mixed reviews about this place but I’m working right across the street so I figured I’d try it. Stopped by for dinner the other day and the buffet part was unavailable(only for lunch) so I got a kimchi wrap(rice, kimchi, and chicken). Honestly, I was unimpressed — it was mostly rice and very little meat. Today, I stopped in for lunch and did the buffet-style lunch. There is a good selection of different kinds of rice, several meats(chicken, pork, beef, etc), kimchi, curry, etc. For $ 6.50, you can stuff a lot of food in that bowl. Rarely does a $ 6.50 lunch fill me up, but this one did. It was MUCH better than the wrap. The meats were all tasty and they went great with the korean hot sauce. A 1.5 star dinner and a 4 star lunch average to about 3. If you’re going for lunch, the lunch bowl is definitely worth the money.

I think I’m gonna have to knock down a few stars since my last review. I went back and tried the wrap again. It was pretty subpar this time around. There was too little meat and kimchi to counteract the large amount of rice. It was like carb overload! I’ll probably make my way there again to try something other than the wrap… but in regards to the wrap, it’s definitely a pass. 2.5 stars rounded to a 3.

«I like this place more and more!» –what myself and a korean colleague said after our latest lunch at Mighty Kimchi. Basically, this is the place around UMB to get your korean food fix. We’ve taken colleagues who are not even asian and they have liked the food for it’s freshness and taste. I like the Noodlerolla food truck too, but as of now, Mighty Kimchi has more variety and bowls of rice/noodles types of dishes. Kimchi bowl: this is kind of like bibimbap; not really a fan of it too much but you get a good balance of rice, veggies, and meat. A pretty good deal for $ 6.50 though. Japchae: I look forward to Tuesdays because it’s Japchae day. Not only do you get japchae in a round tupperware bowl(convenient for packing!) but you also get a choice of rice and meat as well as a side of kimchi! All that for $ 6.50 too! I’ve never been able to get japchae that cheap with all these trimmings for such a low price. Not even Lotte or Hmart’s ready-made shelves. Plus – it was delicious and the beef was minced up so it mixed really nicely with the noodles! I would totally come back for this dish again and again! Kimpap: the owner said something in korean to my colleague and pointed to a large box of Utz variety chips sitting in a push-cart. I looked over when I heard«kimpap» but didn’t see any sign of korean hand rolls. The owner reached into the box and unearthed several take-out containers, each filled with 2 big, fat rolls of kimpap! He sold one container to us for $ 5. It was like 24 pieces altogether – superb DEAL. Turns out he rolls these over to Lexington Market to sell there as well. Mango slush: a cool treat on a hot day; got about 16oz worth, self-serve, for only $ 1.88 including tax! Pasta salad: I saw a few containers of pasta salad in the to-go fridge on my way out; they were only $ 2, on par with or possibly cheaper than the dental school or hospital cafetaria :) Overall, I recommend them for those who need either a korean food fix or something healthy and low-calorie. Plus, they have American fare which makes it a win-win for everyone. I still need to try their Mighty Kimchi wrap and other stuff, like the Korean noodle bowl on Thursdays, but Mighty Kimchi is a keeper!
