Hmm… Not much to say except that I love Never on Sunday. Sometimes you just want a single slice of pizza or a gyro or zucchini fries… The price /portion /taste ratio is perfect. It seems like everyone who works there is a pro and they really know how to handle of rush(like right after the bars close)

Never On Sunday, Never on Monday, Never on Tuesday… Never on any day of the week… The Food was horrible to me. That Cheese fish sub was Desert Dry. Barely any Mayo, Hard A$$ Dry Bread SMH. I ordered the Waffle Fries which were over cooked and hard Cut the roof of my mouth and Scraped up my Gums SHEESH!!! No Bueno!!!

Amazingly good! Had their cheeseburger and fish sandwich. All I can say is wow! To be a late night eatery it was so fresh, not to greasy and the fish was not just the little fish squares most places serve you. Definitely will be my go to spot from now on.

I can’t speak for other food, but their gyro is spot on. It is fresh, the pita is nicely toasted, and the sauces are flavorful and delicious. Others in the group had various sandwiches and salads, and most of us were fairly pleased. HOWEVER, the service is… painfully, extremely slow. It took us a good 30 minute to get our food. I learned from another friend of mine who frequently comes to this place that the secret is to call in ahead, or order online prior to coming here. By the time you get there, the wait will be about 10 minutes or so and you can enjoy your meal without the painstaking weight.

Giving the gyro I just pounded 5 stars. Piping hot pita, stacked with gyro meat and absolutely loaded with tomatoes. A nice fresh bruschetta combo is what they serve on top, not some weak slices of tomato. The taztiki was fresh and very tasty, all served with a nice pickle spear. I would and probably will come back for this gyro. Place is clean, decent music playing and a tv playing basketball to watch if your eating alone like me

This place used to be a great go to lunch spot with fairly priced food and pretty good quality ingredients. The guys behind the counter were always friendly and remembered you. The new guys are brief and unfriendly. It seems like they couldn’t care less that your eating there. Since the change in owners or management(never could tell what happened) the quality has gone down and prices up. I have continued to try it with hopes that it was just one visit, but it seems to be the new normal. The fries used to be always crisp, now more often than not, they are soggy and luke warm. The lettuce is now pale if not brown. The wraps are always soggy now and hard to eat. If the prices were the same, I wouldn’t mind the quality issues, but with high prices and lower quality I will have to find a new lunch spot.

Had the shrimp salad sub and it was horrible. Tastes like chlorinated chunks of meat on bread.

Reliable neighborhood Greek/Italian restaurant. Carry out or dine in. If you choose to eat in, the restaurant windows provide a good view of the inhabitants of Mt Vernon as they walk down Charles St.

Probably the cleanest, most aesthetically pleasing carry-out place I’ve ever been to. Definitely great for a greasy food fix or a post ‘night of partying in the city’ hangover cure. They carry your usual suspects: chicken wings, French fries, pizza, subs, gyros; you name it. I opted for the Cheesesteak Sub which was pretty tasty. I completed my order with a side of fries and a bottled beverage offered from their fridge. My total came to $ 12.88, which wasn’t bad considering the portions given(the subs are HUGE). This will probably be my new go-to take out spot.

Blah… There is something missing as far as flavor. Mediocre food at best. I had a burger here about a year ago it was actually good. Chicken wrap not that great, waffle fries are better at chick-fil-a.

Fabulous food, fabulous hours, fabulous prices, fabulous service. Enough said. My favorite is the grilled chicken sandwich. Try the STS – you’ll thank me later.

This is one of my favorite greasy spoons in town. They’ve got a great menu with lots of options and do most — if not all of them — well. Their delivery is reliable and generally there faster they they say it’s going to be(they usually say 40 minutes — I find it’s usually about 20 – 30). I branched out of my comfort zone with them recently and ordered a Ruben. Now, I come from a land of great Jewish deli’s so my standards are high. Taste-wise, that sandwich was on par with some of the best I’ve had. But there just wasn’t enough meat. If your gonna call it a Ruben the meat portion should be as big as your fist. Otherwise it’s a snack — not a meal. Also, they’ve got the best gravy in town — so if you’re a poutine fanatic like I am – and the«disco fries» at your local eatery aren’t cutting for you — order their waffles fries with cheese and gravy. The craving will be sated. But you may have to Gravy Fries Anonymous, and accept the divine Spaghetti Monster as your savior and light — to kick the habit. Just letting you know now.

At 1:15AM when just about every restaurant in the area is closed, Never On Sunday pulls through. Finding parking at this time was easy, luckily. I stepped inside and approached the counter. Groups of people were loud but they were seated. And then there were those who were standing by the counter either waiting to order or waiting for their food. I felt that everything ran very smoothly and I didn’t have to worry about anyone hurling on the floor next to me. I ordered the Cheesesteak and the Greek Fries, and then went to the bathroom. The bathroom looked clean. I was expecting to see paper towels and toilet paper strewn all over the floor and vomit on the seat. But no, it was clean I washed my hands, and used a paper towel to turn the doorknob and proceeded to wait another 20 seconds for my food. My conclusion on the food: the cheesesteak was very very tasty. Unfortunately, there was not too much meat, but the hots and fried onions I got with it complemented it very well. As for the greek fries, they were a bit too zesty for me. I did save them for breakfast this morning, and they are delicious with siracha.

Needed a bite to eat on a rainy Monday night before hitting a club a few blocks away and we were referred to this place by the bouncer at said club. It was perfect. Mind you, it’s not«fast food» as they cook to order but well worth the wait, which really isn’t that long. One of us had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and two had the chicken souvlaki on pita. OMG. Make sure to add on the feta. I got a taste of the buffalo chicken wrap and it was delish. They used fried chicken pieces so it’s crunchy yummy deliciousness. The souvlaki pita was messy to eat but .good. The main floor of the restaurant was clean, as was the restroom. I would definitely recommend this place and go back next time I am in the area.

Sometimes you’re working really late … sometimes you just don’t want to cook and didn’t realize that until everything is closed. At least Never on Sunday is still open! :) This is a fast-food Greek restaurant. It’s open late, it’s fast, it’s quick and it’s a nice alternative to burgers or pizza when you’re tired and hungry. Make no mistake — this is not a sit down restaurant, and I wouldn’t really go out of my way to eat here but it’s very decent fast food!

«Yay! I’m a fan» sums up my feelings exactly. My brother-in-law works in Baltimore, and since he’s had a tough couple of weeks, I decided to surprise him with lunch delivered to his office. I used Unilocal to search for«$» places in the 21201 zip that delivered, and«Never On Sunday» came up first. Their website was clean and informative, so I wrote down a couple of menu options and then called during one evening. «Josh» was helpful and accommodating; he recommended the spinach pie(their specialty) over a veggie wrap(which is not unique to NOS). Also, when I explained that I was calling from California and wanted lunch delivered by 11:30AM the following day, he said that although NOS opened at 11AM, he could put my order in a few minutes early and get the kitchen crew started, so the food would be certainly delivered in time. I ordered the spinach pie, a small Greek salad(with $ 1 extra for a hardboiled egg), and baklava. Total with tax and tip came to $ 23. I would not do this for my brother-in-law every day($ 20 lunches have that«special occasion» aura), but considering that: — the food was tasty(per report) — the delivery was on time — the service was great — the convenience was huge I definitely got my money’s worth, and was able to do a nice thing for the BIL, and also earned mad points with the husband and with the mother-in-law :-) Plus, you know, my BIL is a great guy and I loved being able to surprise him with something nice. Many thanks to Josh & co at NOS; I will definitely re-use you guys in the future(I’m planning to spring a surprise lunch for BIL every few months). Thanks again!

Late night food generally falls into two categories: 1) «Our food is terrible but you’re going to eat it anyway because you’re a drunk ass and we could probably serve you a cardboard box covered with cheese.» 2) «Our food is good but we stay open late because it amuses us to see your drunken expression of sheer joy when you take a bite.» Never on Sunday fits into the second category. Had a seriously delicious gyro the other night, and that’s a food item I’m generally pretty critical about. Well-seasoned meat, crisp veggies, fresh pita, tasty tzatziki… pretty much everything I was hoping for. I’ll definitely be returning here for my post-bar needs.

Unbelievable they don’t honor their word… smh will update my review. have been to Never on a Sunday three times. Its a 10 – 15 minute walk from my job. The first time I was blown away with how awesome their cheese fish sub is fresh and huge. A fast pace lunch spot some what in and out. The second time I ordered my cheese fish sub was last Friday and they for got to put the cheese. I called to inform them and they said on my next visit they would give either a 10% discount or no cost for the cheese. Well, I bought my co-worker with me on my third visit was so bad I will never return. While ordering my cheese fish sub with everything plus hots I mentioned the phone call and the cashier tells me the total… wait for it… the total was the same price as last week. So i tell him I know the price and the total he is telling me is not discounted. He gives another total that was a little cheaper. They have a three man show, two take orders while the third hand people their orders. It was a little shocking to me when the same man that took my order was now handing my cheese fish sub. I look to see if there was cheese… yes there was a cheese smear on the wrapper I did not totally open up the sub. On my way back to my job it starts to drizzle great for me with no umbrella. Oh, I have to take in a breath right now… I grab my drink and chips to sit down with my cheese fish sub that I thought had everything plus hots to ONLY be looking at a roll, fish and cheese. Where is the lettuce, tomato, onions and hots? We are in disbelief… she calls back, she is placed on hold, then finally someone answers and while she is trying to rely what has happen, she is cut off with the person saying«you the one with the cheese problem». My co-worker had to compose herself«yes, we had a cheese issue earlier» so who ever she is speaking to states the have to check the ticket and we need to come back to the store. Again this is not a hop, skip or jump to this place. We are both hungry and tired but we managed to walk back. The employee said«i saw you look at that sub before you left the first time» I said yes looking for the cheese it was on the wrapper so I didn’t open it all the way. We are given the standard apology of them being busy with a lunch rush… I’m not buying it… one the cashier, who took our order had a smirk on his face. Two you had to read the ticket to know to prepare the cheese fish sub. Third no compensation at all. I feel it was done in malice. I will not return thanks but no thanks…

A Mt. Vernon staple, N.O.S has an extensive sub shop menu and late night hrs. Ranging from Salads to Cheesesteaks, from Gyros to more traditional Greek food, N.O.S has you covered. Service is pretty speedy if you walk in and the store is always clean. If you’re ever in the area try one of their Chicken Soulvaki’s…hmmmm. Also remember, they’re never open on sunday’s LOL.
