Ordered from here tonight and the driver shows up to my house and claims my sodas that are part of the special are in his car and needs to grab them. Over a hour later my sodas are still not at my house. I had to call back and ask for the manager to get the problem fixed. Pizza was mediocre and the smallest large pizza I’ve ever ordered. Save the time and money and buy a frozen pizza at the grocery store

Cold pizza is tasty but I am pretty sure I ordered a hot pizza. Also, it wasn’t tasty. Why was the pizza sauce… dry? Sauces are wet, in theory. Right? I could have walked to and from the location seven times(I’m three-ish blocks away!) by the time it got to me. Two hours is a bit of an excessive wait. Previous experiences ordering the cheesesteak(weirdest bread ever), a salad(they only gave me brown Iceberg lettuce, single cherry tomato, slither of cucumber), and fries(unsalted, dry, possible freezer burn victims) left me with a bad taste in my mouth for this chain. The Boli’s near Hopkins Homewood campus was always fresh and bangin’. I truly feel bad giving restaurants poor reviews; after a few chances and contacting the management to correct mistakes, it’s like they don’t care. I don’t want free food — I want to let the managers know that things are wrong. «Sorry, not sorry» isn’t good customer service.

Four stars for food, one star for delivery. No, make that no stars. The delivery guy had one job, and didn’t do it all that well. I rarely order pizza anymore, especially after reading about the science behind it and how they get us hooked. But, Friday night, ya know? Why not get a little treat for me and my little dude? I ordered on our way home from daycare thinking how awesome it would be to kick back and enjoy a tasty pie and watch a little Sesame Street. Took a little longer than usual, no biggie. We were playing with some cars and gearing up for a diaper change when I heard a horn honking outside my door. I thought to myself surely that can’t be the pizza? Honking? But I opened the door to look and sure enough, a surly looking dude on a cellphone came over to thrust a pizza box at me, yapping away on his phone and never once making eye contact or saying hello. You know, the type of interaction that insanely boosts your tip, if the customer hasn’t been stupid enough to blindly tip online. Never again, Pizza Boli! I used to be a delivery driver, and enjoy tipping well for good service. I do not, however, enjoy tipping anything at all for some ***hole who can’t be bothered to acknowledge the nice lady holding a toddler and attempting friendly interaction. Going forward, IF I order from here again, all tips will be given in cash if the driver deserves one. What has happened to customer service? Have people really become so self-centered that it’s acceptable to talk on your phone and ignore customers while doing your job? Luckily the pizza tasted pretty good, even after I discovered an eyelash baked into a slice. Gross, but not tragic. I have a toddler, so I can certainly handle an eyelash.

I used to order from this location about once a month for delivery. About 3 months ago, I became so frustrated that I have sworn this location off. Most of my orders were via the Pizza Boli’s website. The problem is that they only got the order right about 5% of the time. I’m not the most picky eater, but when I order a white pizza, I don’t expect it to come with red sauce. I’m also a vegetarian, so I ordered the veggie sub on occasion with a simple request-prepare it cold, no cooked veggies. What do I get instead? I get a grilled garden salad in a sub roll. OK, that’s not technically what it is, but when you cook vegetable(including lettuce) the water releases and the result is pretty much the soggy, bread-encased salad. It’s like, «Dude, all you had to do was throw raw vegetables on a sub roll!» Why not try ordering over the phone? That returned only slightly better results when I went that route. It’s sad that 1) I actually pay $ 7 for raw vegetables. Insult to injury when that gets messed up, 2) No one there seems to be able to interpret the notes I send over the web, or the requests hand-writted from phone orders, and 3) Their management(corporate) can’t handle complaints without passing the buck. Yes, I complained to corporate the last time, giving clear instructions indicating that I would either like the order remade, or my money returned. The response was a poorly written email from a district manager asking what they could do for me. That response pretty much summed up how the store employees operate. Once again I leave clear instructions and they can’t be interpreted to deliver the results I expected.

So I wanted pizza one day after driving past this bolis I agreed that I would give them a chance. There isn’t too many good pizza options who will deliver where I live, so I was kinda stuck. First I tried to order online, calling in had failed and I kept getting placed on hold for extended periods of time without being picked back up. The online website is a joke and wrongly will adjust the price of your oder with every new addition. I first had a appetizer $ 5 then went to add a $ 10 total and my appetizer just up to $ 12.50, and the pizza was then added for $ 10.00, strange. You also can get a large saving online if you can make the website work … When I called in they wouldn’t accept the online pricing, as it was«online only,» even after I tried telling why I couldn’t order, the dude was like«sorry, want to still order, I can’t give you the online deal but we have the same one in store…» O_o okay… The delivery from there to my house should be 5 minutes, it took nearly a hour for a large pizza and cheese stix to be delivered. Food is good though, pizza dough is fresh like most of the toppings. I also have had wings here, while not the best in the city, the wings here were worthwhile and good enough as a main dish with fries from here. I would likely recommend placing one order here, but if it is anything like my experience you’ll likely think twice about ordering.

Alright, I know this forum isn’t supposed to be used to vent, but my last Boli’s experience simply must to be shared. The only reason I haven’t downgraded them to two stars is because, issues aside, I still like their pizza and I can’t help myself. So, here’s how our last Boli’s experience went. Ordered online, large pizza(pepperoni, mushroom, banana peppers, half green peppers and onions) and an order of bread sticks. Pretty standard. I placed the order at 6:54pm on a Monday and it arrived at 8:20pm. Not only did it take an hour and 25 minutes to get our pizza from a location less than a mile from our house, when it finally did arrive I opened the box only to discover that they managed to screw up the toppings. I should have known better than to think they’d get the toppings right as they are notorious for not understanding the über-complicated concept of «the half», but I held out hope. Maybe this would be the time I wouldn’t have to manually manipulate my slices prior to consumption, just maybe. Sadly, it was not to be. As I’ve stated before, I still dig their pie so I’ll order it again, just beware of complicated toppings requests and be prepared to play the waiting game.
