I came for lunch recently. The place is quite charming and the service was prompt and friendly. I did not drink because I typically don’t drink alcohol so early in the day. Their beers sounded good though. I got the Maryland crab soup and the crab quesadilla for lunch. The soup came out first and it was tasty but it was more of just a vegetable soup. There was maybe one tiny little bit of crab in the cup. I got my quesadilla after I was finished with the soup and it was described as «crab, sweet corn salsa, blended cheese on a tortilla». That was. partially true. There was no sweet corn salsa. It was pieces of crab(yes, the amount of crab on the quesadilla was good for the price) with cheese, corn, and red onions. I assume corn salsa would have tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro, other salsa-y things in it, right? Wrong, it was just plain frozen corn that was heated and then a bunch of raw red onions chopped up. I like onions but it was overwhelming. They must have used a half an onion minimum on my quesadilla. The little cups of salsa(Gordon Food Service) and sour cream were pretty stingy too. Overall it was alright but I certainly wouldn’t make it a point to come back here any time soon.

Pratt St sits directly cross from the convention center so it is tourist central. We had a business dinner here as it was convenient to our hotels. I arrived early checked in via Unilocal mobile and secured a free pint of their Oliver Ale. The bartender was not the most pleasant guy when I showed him my phone and the offer. I left a tip anyways and received a grunt for my effort. We were initially told there was a 30 minute wait for a table even though the dining room was empty. A quick re-check with another hostess and we were seated promptly. Apparently they thought we wanted an outside table. On to the food… So this is a German themed restaurant/pub with a good selection of craft beer and German October fest beers as well. My dining companions ordered quesadillas, a burger, Michelob ultra with a lime, and a Bud lime something or another??? I ordered off their specials menu; schnitzel, spatzle topped with a fried egg. Oh man was that good. The cutlet was tender and the egg yoke just added more taste. The spatzle was OK but I’m spoiled by homemade spatzle. Lastly I nice pint of one of their October fest washed it all down rather nicely. Good meal, good service, and of course good beer!

Bar sportif dans la moyenne, ni plus ni moins. Service convenable sans être exceptionnelle. Un plus: la clim n’est pas dans le piton et il n’est pas nécessaire de manger avec son Kanuk!

Great venue overshadowed by questionable service. I frequently visit Baltimore on business and have visited the Pratt Street Ale House on a couple of occasions. The food is good, but not great, pub fare. The place has great beer and with its location opposite the convention center can get packed during conferences. My last visit service was atrocious. I ordered a steak and substituted a salad for the vegetables at the waitress’ suggestion. I clearly stated«please deliver the salad ahead of the entrée» 30 minutes after ordering the waitress sheepishly came to my table to admit that the kitchen had lost my order. 15 more minutes later I was presented with the salad and steak — simultaneously! I could only put my head in my hands. To add insult to injury when the bill came the substation of salad for vegetables turned out to be a myth — I’d been given discount on the salad. Haven’t had service that bad in a long time. But the beer was good and the food filling and tasty.
