Race Pace Bicycles

I bought a bicycle from Race Pace a few months ago. As I entered, I was greeted warmly. All the employees were helpful and laid back, answering any questions I had and helped me find the perfect type and size bike for me! They made sure I had all the accessories I’d need and helped me put them on and showed me how all the gears and the shocks worked.

Excellent selection. Excellent service. People who really know bikes and have a passion for all things two wheels work at Race Pace.
I’ve bought 2 bikes and several MTB gear here and ive never been disappointed. If you’re living in northern VA it’s the worth the drive to Maryland to come check out this place. If you’re living in Maryland then there’s just no excuse.

The second I walked into the store I was greeted with politeness and enthusiasm. I’m a new comer to cycling and the gentleman helping me was very helpful and informative. I test road a bike and absolutely loved it! This place is great, the store is big, and they have a great selection of bikes!

These guys were hands down the best Bike shop I talked with when trying to figure out a roof rack carrying system for my car. I will give them all of my bicycle needs business henceforth. Thank you.

After an initial bad experience, I went back to the shop to get a helmet months later. This time, I dealt with Paul and my experience couldn’t have gone any better. This is hands down one of the best bike shops in Bmore.

Right out of the gate you get greeted by staff who obviously enjoy cycling and you can feel that enthusiasm. I think based on my experience, they’ve got people of all types of cycling experiences but similar enthusiasms.
There is nothing like great customer service when you need good advice and I will proudly say these guys at Race Pace are awesome. Paul in particular has spent days of his time answering every question I could come up with.
If you are building a bike, this is THE BEST place to source your parts from. Paul guided me through the process and made sure to tell me if I was missing a part for my build or if he thought I could find a better alternative, from color to manufacturer Paul was able to find every part I wanted. Once my build was finished, various Race Place employees have helped me tune every part of my bike to perfection (free of charge).
If building a bike isn’t what you are after, they offer a HUGE selection of bikes commuters, road, tri, and mountain, in many many varieties. Seriously, it is fun just to walk around and be in awe of the many many different bikes that exist.
Overall, Race Pace is my all time favorite bike shop for everything cycling related.

The reviews talking about customer service are not exaggerating. A Race Pace employee spent more than an hour with me showing me how to best lock my bike, with a lock I did not even buy from Race Pace, and the safest bike routes to take in Baltimore. I ended up buying a water bottle holder just to make a purchase because they were so nice and then they installed it for me on the spot.
The store is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need for your bike. Two friends purchased road bikes here and love them. If you have a bike in Baltimore, this is your new favorite place.

Without a doubt the best all around bicycle shop in the area. From sales to repair and tune ups, upgrades and performance modifications you cannot beat their performance!

Really great customer service! I received a lot of help picking out a new bike and customizing it. I felt the sales people were informative and went above and beyond. They also offer free classes on Tuesday evenings on how to maintain your bike. The store has a great selection of different types of bikes and accessories.

Absolutely the best customer service I have ever experienced in a bike shop. Nik, Laura, John, and Paul all bent over backwards to ensure the purchase of my new bike was exactly as I wanted it. They worked with me to customize my bike to my exact specs, and took the time to go over everything about it. Communicative, enthusiastic, professional, knowledgeable, AND they brought me a great cup of coffee while I shopped around the store (huge bonus points). Super happy to have bought my new rig from these guys!

I went to Race Pace looking to buy a bike that would last me a while, but wouldn’t set me back a ton of money. I am just trying to get around the city quickly and go on the occasional long ride. I am tall, 6’4″, so I wanted a bike to fit me. They were running a great buy one get one free special on some overstock Scott bikes. I only needed one, so the salesman worked a deal for me and got one within my budget.
The store is spacious with a wide selection of bikes, accessories, clothing, food, and they also have rental bikes.

Great, great service. They take the time to learn about the kind of riding you are doing and where you want to «grow» in your riding. They won’t try to over sell you and they really back it up with great service.
They handle all the bike lines that really matter.
I pass a number of other shops closer to where I live in order to go to Race Pace.
Other nice thing is they have locations all over metro B’more.

I have just taken up cycling for exercise and enjoyment about two months ago. I am a newbie and look it. Race Pace is the first cycle shop that I have visited in the past two months where I experienced great customer service. Unlike other shops I visited, the employee was helpful and understanding and did not make me feel like I needed to be «schooled» or was some short term interruption. The shop is well stocked, well laid out and merchandised with a selection in a wide range of prices, and employees are encouraging to novices. They have earned my return business.

A massive range of bikes and accessories. Staff falling over themselves to offer friendly advice and support. Everything a cyclist would dream of.
Prices seem perfectly reasonable, not overpriced and so I have marked inexpensive, certainly a little cheapre than some other cities for similar quality. They only stock quality, so no $ 199 trash bikes.

I am fairly new to the city of Baltimore and have not yet found my go to places for certain sports. This summer its bicycles. I would say I am an above average bike rider with a fairly decent bike. I heard rumors about the place in Fells and after visiting the store I was not impressed. So we searched a bit further and discovered Race Pace. It is located off the Key Highway in Federal Hill. The only down side to this place is the parking; but oh well that is the problem with most places in Bmore.
Upon arrival we were greeted immediately and asked what we needed. We were there only for a tune up which we were able to get completed in a few days. While we were there we walked around the store and this place has some great merchandise from beginners to advanced riders. Anything you want they have or can probably order. I was in the market for new pedals and shoes and they had a solid selection of both. I was helped through the whole process and even though I am not an expert they didn’t treat me like a dummy. When I picked up our bikes they installed the pedals immediately and allowed me to get on a trainer and try out the shoes and pedals.
I cannot state enough times how good the service was and how knowledgeable the employees were. Yes, this place is a little more pricey then other places but they know their bikes and they do it right and I am willing to pay for it. You should treat your bike like a car; go to the place that knows them the best.

This is a nice, open, modern bike store on the Fed Hill peninsula. I brought my bike in with a broken chain and they fixed it on the spot. They were friendly and clearly were fellow bikers that knew what they were talking about.

If you’re looking for a brand spanking new and shiny bike, Race Pace is your spot. I love a bike shop that lets you ask questions, PAYS ATTENTION TO YOU even if you’re not a avid cyclist and really helps you figure out what kind of bike you want /​need. That, is Race Pace. The service was on point!
I went to several bike shops in the city and Race Pace was the only one that had access to all the brands that I wanted to try. A new bike for me (over $ 500) was a major purchase. They didn’t poo poo me because I wasn’t buying a $ 5,000 bike.
I went back three times to try out bikes. They shipped bikes in from other stores so I could make a final decision and I’m thrilled with my Trek. They’ve also readjusted the seat and handlebars for me when it didn’t feel quite right.
Yay Race Pace!

Just like Nikolas O. reported, this is the largest bicycle store in Baltimore city and it was exciting to see their selection. I can’t believe it took me this long to get down there. The employees were really helpful and very down to earth. I love talking to other people that cycle in the city and they were no exception.
I went in mainly for the bike accessories. Race Pace has Chrome bags and clothing (as well as many other brands!) including women’s stuff, Brooks seats (and plenty of non-​Brooks seats), Bern (and non-​Bern) helmets, a great selection of lights, Ortlieb panniers (and many others!), racks, woven and metal baskets, Smartwool socks, bells, shoes, you name it. It’s really fun to browse. If you are looking to get more serious about biking, this is a great place to explore.
They have a large repair area and lots of bikes as well. They have folding bikes and their selection is growing.
So don’t put it off any longer! Go down there. They will have that thing you’ve been dying to look at and try out.
