Cute place. Great atmosphere and beautiful view! Small plates are just enough to fill you up and send you off your way. Prices are very reasonable compared to other airports

If you’re stuck in BWI with time to kill and your flight leaves from Terminal F(which is not connected to better dining options) AND you need a martini, Sky Azure is worth checking out. Know those are a lot of ‘ifs’. The location on the Observation Deck gives you some quiet space and there is a bar, but the food options of small plates leave much to be desired… like good food. Would I go again? Sure… if…

My parents and I were wandering the airport terminal in search of a trendy nightclub when we happened upon Sky Azure. While the name fit the billing, the dance floor wasn’t nearly big enough to accommodate modern dance styles, and we couldn’t even see the DJ. Joking, of course, but this little airport bar seems like it would fit in better along Ocean Drive in SoBe than overlooking an airport runway. Still, if you’ve got some time to kill and are looking to relax somewhere off the beaten path, Azure is a good place to go. It only has seating for about 20, half of which were filled when we walked in. The bartender took a little while to get to us(since he also functions as waiter and cook), but overall he was quite skillful at balancing the moderate evening crowd, and was friendly and engaging to boot. The food and drink were quite good, though, as other Unilocalers have mentioned, they seem to run out of some items. Whether this is due to poor prep or poor planning, it seems odd to be unable to serve all menu options so early in the evening(we arrived around 4:30). Price point is reasonable for what you get, though budget diners may want to stay downstairs in the food court.

Great little find if you aren’t in a hurry to reach your gate. Located before security, upstairs between Concourse B & C. Like a mini– aviation museum with various pieces from airplanes & a great curved window with rocking chairs & armchairs with power plugs. Kids play area at one end and a bar with small plate dishes at the end. Have dishes like crab cake sliders, hummus & a few sandwiches. Would have given them five stars except when I was there the bartender could not make any food requiring her to use the grill because she was out of cooking spray??? Even after I saw several employees from sister restaurant repeatedly coming upstairs between the two places. Someone couldn’t have brought a can of cooking spray upstairs? Anyway, my drink was good & the crab hummus was tasty.

Awful service. Great view. Wish I could tell you how the drinks were, but after 30 mins of being ignored we left. The 3 other patrons must’ve put the bartender at capacity.

It’s an airport bar. What more should you expect. We sat and waited for at least 20 minutes for the bartender to come around. We were waiting for friends to arrive from Indianapolis when we decided«why not.» We were expecting the drinks to be pricey(and they were). My drink came to around $ 11 for a mojito and a manhattan for about $ 12. They had no resemblance of the drink if you went anywhere else. We honestly expected much more out of Sky Azure and were not impressed at all. The bar wasn’t busy at all and we felt cold shouldered by the bartender. Of course, I love BWI and I love that the restaurant is hidden in a nook of the airport. Every time I went up to the observation deck before the bar was open, I loved sitting and watching the planes come in and leave. Now, I have the opportunity to do it while drinking. That’s a perk. Maybe we just happened to have a bad bartender that day. Or her shift was about to end and she was having a bad day. I don’t know, but I can’t give it a positive review because it wasn’t a positive experience.

Only came here for a beer, selection was a limited but OK. It is nice and quiet, and you get a nice view of the tarmac, but I don’t know that I’d hang out at the airport just to eat.

The cocktails and food are tasty, but over priced … The BIGDEAL is the view and relaxing area before a flight, or just as an area to hang out if you work at the airport. Great Job BWI on the renovation!

Probably the most«non-airport» bar/restaurant in BWI. An aesthetically beautiful addition to the Observation Deck. Interesting and delicious small plates. That will not put a huge dent in your wallet. As well as different variations on some old school cocktails, with a few tasty unique ones to pick from. I suggest the refreshing Cuke cocktail. Sky Azure also has various micro brews available. With four ever-changing beers on draft. Love this place!

Where’s the food ?!? Lovely bar in a really beautiful observation deck with cool pieces of planes on display. Unfortunately it is OUTSIDE of security. Tasty, strong drinks. Friendly server. But they were out of almost ALL of the small plate tapas, and the server said that happens often. You can’t be a «Bar and Small Plates» if you’re always out of the small plates. Sounds like a management problem to me…

Hidden gem in a wasteland of restaurants in the area. Pre-security, great venue, fantastic cocktails, nice small plates and service was truly awesome. Eric took great care of us. I recommend this place.

So I just spent 10 days over three weeks in Columbia for work and my group flew out on New Year’s day. Turned out 4 of us weren’t leaving until after 7pm and arrived at 4−5pm. Needless to say, we decided to hit the bar to kill some time. Low and behold this is on the 2nd level of the airport before security! Hello awesomeness! The ambiance is totally cool, it has panoramic views of the flight field and modern/contemporary furniture. The menu is small and really reasonable. I didn’t eat but a coworker did and said it was really good. The bad, the bartender is also the chef and the busboy. We sat shooting the bull with each other and the bartender watching college bowl games. They have about 4 beers on draft and an interesting selection of booze. My only observations on the negative? There were dirty tables and the bartender was literally sitting on the bar. That’s kind of a no-no. Second? We were all horsing around and being all around jackasses and the bartender dropped a few f-bombs. That’s really not cool. All in all, this place is a total bargain and go-to if you’re in the airport before your flight or if you’re waiting on your people to arrive.

This is a jem in BWI — good food and wine and a quiet space — for all of you missing the delta sky club @ BWI this is the next best thing — crab cakes are awesome — try getting two orders of the crab cake sliders w/o bums and ask for the vinaigrette used in the pear salad — eat the small crab cakes and make a salad with the extra lettuce and tomatoes that come with the sliders

Azure is in a great spot at the BWI observation deck. Small lounge packed with great drinks and tapas. Service is outstanding(thanks sweet zAdrian!) but I can see place will fill up fast and furious once it gains popularity. I’m glad I got to enjoy it b4 there is a chance it gets cray cray!

Hard to find but worth it, before security near security gate C. Great view great bar and fresh food made daily. Think high end cocktails and small plate dining. Make the time!

Located in the shiny new observation lounge at BWI. We had two very decent cocktails, well-balanced, potent, and generous. The view is outstanding through the two-story glass wall– a definite plus if you are at all an aviation buff. You don’t have to go through security to get here, there’s an elevator/stairs right next to the B/C security checkpoint– follow the«landing lights»! It looked like you can carry your drinks over into the observation area, which has a variety of comfortable seating(rocking chairs, sofas), as well as various aviation related exhibits including parts from a Boeing 707 and a 737 – 200. For $ 10-$ 12 a cocktail(for the sort of drink and atmosphere you’d pay $ 12-$ 16 at a lounge in Balto or DC) and with a number of appealing drinks on the menu, we’ll definitely be back.

I found myself with extra time to kill at BWI so I googled«things to do» and found out about the new Observation Tower with a restaurant/bar. I’m glad I found this hidden gem. Tasty and creative cocktails and friendly staff — I definitely recommend Sky Azure.
