The selection was the best we found. The ataff was very helpful. We got a good price on the sleeper sofa, plus $ 100 off with Unilocal coupon. The moving company was a pain in the butt. They came much later than promised. The sales staff, based on measurements and Photos I provided wrote on the order to take off legs before moving up stairs. I told mover this before they tried, but they insisted. Of course they couldn“t do and had to unwedge it and chipped the wall. They were able to move it to the second floor with little problem without the legs. Sofas etc responded right away and professionally. The mover told me I was ruining it for all other customers by complaining. I would recommend sofa etc without question, but I wouldn’t trust their mover’s judgement. If you think they are forcing the item, make them stop and do it right. It should be your choice to damage property or furniture, not the movers.

We have been looking for a loveseat for some time and went to Shofer’s yesterday, where apparently selling a loveseat to a customer is simply too tedious. Today we went to Sofas Etc on Joppa Rd and had a totally different experience. The charming salesperson, Dana, was very attentive without being pushy and made sure we found exactly what we were looking for. I am so pleased with our new loveseat and can’t wait for it to be delivered. The prices were what I’d expect for a quality piece of customized furniture. They have a nice selection of attractive, budget conscious Rowe furniture, and although we didn’t go with a piece from that collection, we will definitely keep it in mind when we get around to replacing our old sofa. Definitely recommend.

We just went to Overstock Furniture last night where we bought a sofa and a love seat. When we first walked in, it was very quiet. While we looked around, and tested out some sofa’s by doing the bounce test, we began wondering «where the Sales people were». Finally, by the time we reached the end of the store, we were greeted by a man who was sitting down at the desk the entire time. We were informed that there was the top level of the store, and then there was the ShowRoom downstairs. We ventured downstairs and it was pretty cool because it was just a huge area filled with all different kinds of furniture. We were like kids in a Candy Storm; we ran and bounced around from sofa to sofa trying each one out. We were able to look around without the sales team hasseling us, which was nice. I don’t like people breathing down my neck while i’m trying to look at things. They did stop by here and there just in case we had questions or needed information. There’s an older gentlman on the Sales Team named Ray, he was the best! Ray was nice, honest with his answer’s when asked a question about the furniture, and was considerate. If you go to Overstock Furniture, ask for Ray!
The furniture is really nice, and very decorative. They have sofa’s, beds, tables, recliners, dressers, pretty much any furniture you can think of in all different colors, shapes, and sizes.
They have a closing sale going on right now where everything is up to 80% off. Our Sofa and Love seat was 70% off and then we got a 20% off on top of it. Although, the 20% off on top changes from time to time. The day before we went, it was 10% off on top. Ray informed us that they don’t know how long the extra percent off will last, it depends on what Corporate says for that day.
The building looks kind of sketchy from the outside, but it’s well worth it when you head inside. We love our furniture, and you can’t beat the price.

During my first trip here, I found a couch and was 100% sold on it. I waited to pull the trigger (which I now regret because it just added time!) on the purchase. I ordered a couch that is fairly popular, part of the Precedent line, and I am sure that the couch will be with our family for years and years to come.
In addition to the quality furniture, you’ll get great service. I purchased a Unilocal voucher after making my deposit on the couch. They still allowed me to use the voucher. It basically made the price of my couch $ 100 cheaper.
Next time I am in the market for a solid piece of furniture that will last a long time, Sofas Etc will be one of the first places I go. This is definitely not an IKEA, where you get «bargain» pieces that become disposable. This is hand-​down-​to-​your-​kids kinda furniture!

Got a great chair at a solid price, sales staff was really helpful. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a upscale sofa or chair. Delivery takes about 8 to 10 weeks.

Beautiful designer sofas. It seems, after I did some hunting, that their prices are quiet fair. I didn’t do any business here so I can’t comment further but it’s def. worth a look if you’re in the market for a *nice* new sofa. I didn’t see anything in there less than $ 750 and the sofa I fell in love with was $ 4k (a little out of my range right now :)
I think what’s nice is that everything is customizable– they have hundreds of upholstery samples and you can choose whatever you’d like (all different price ranges)

My friend told me about this place as they got their sofa from Sofa’s Etc in Baltimore, so I went to both locations, Columbia and Baltimore to look around when I went to buy a sofa. Boy, all I can say is «WOW», I am impressed!
They carry the name brand: «Precedent» line of sofa’s and sectionals which I saw at Danker furniture, but Danker wanted ¹⁄₃ more money for the same sofa!
I loved the fact that Sofa’s Etc. offered a no-​extra-​charge fully customizable Precedent sofa! You choose the arm style, the bottom, the leg style and color wood, the back, how many cushions & seats you want etc. and the process was exciting to totally make my custom sofa and choose from no less than a thousand fabrics. In addition, the frame is 100% solid wood and hand tied springs, and the company puts springs in the cushions so they never sag! Prices are about $ 1299 -$ 1399. for a custom sofa. Sometimes they have a floor model for immediate sale, an «oops order» or one that someone never picked up that you can take home same-​day, but usually that’s not the case.
You do have to order it. Be prepared to wait, but you’ll be happy and get exactly what you want and have a custom made sofa for less than you will buy retail. I just wanted to see if I could get it at a further discount so I called a high Point North Carolina wholesale company and they could only give me less than $ 100. off the same sofa, so now I know Sofa Etc.‘s
price was great, plus I prefer to work with a local store with real people.
We liked the Baltimore location. Marc is the owner of both stores. He was warm, friendly, very knowledgeable about sofa construction and extremely easy to work with. Our sales person was Sheila. –Very nice and helpful.
My sofa and loveseat is gorgeous and 5 years later looks perfect and has upheld so nicely! We went back to buy two more pieces and Sofa’s Etc. will be the only store I buy a sofa from again.
We referred another friend to them. She got the most beautiful quality leather sofa you ever saw. The leather quality is awesome.
I would drive there again and again. It was worth the time & every penny.

This place is great! I am surprised that it doesn’t have a Unilocal review. We just moved to Baltimore and needed a new sofa for our place. We went to many furniture stores including– Pad, Shofers, Gardiners, Su Casa, and Second Chance. Sofa etc concept is designer sofas at a discount price. We got to pick the fabric, leg style and color and there was no extra charge. Ask for Nancy Pollinger. She was amazing and super helpful. She worked within our price range and we ordered an amazing sofa for the price. Because you are designing your sofa you have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for delivery, but well worth the wait!
