So, I love the food here, however I have had issues THREE times with ordering online. Twice via GrubHub, once via Eat24. On two occasions my orders were able to be placed, but were canceled because there were no delivery drivers available. The iceberg that sunk the titanic was when I ordered via GrubHub. They accepted my order(took my money) then called me a few minutes later to tell me they would not complete my order because there was an issue with the kitchen and the restaurant was closed. This was in December. I have contacted GrubHub and they said that Stang of Siam has no way of showing that the kitchen was closed on the day I ordered. I am HIGHLY pissed and agitated because this is unfair. My order was about $ 40. So just beware when you order online. I never really leave reviews, and most certainly not negatively. This one is extremely disappointing because $ 40 was STOLEN from me by Stang of Siam.

Out of beer, out of red wine, the Tam Kha came out as Tom Kha with some coconut milk stirred in. Bad experience. The service was a joke Never again. Back to Thai Landing.

Good food. Meh service. I used to come here semi-often when I lived in the area. The Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and curries are very good! This time, I decided to try something different and ordered the Thai Fried Rice. The rice was bland – something was majorly missing in the flavor department. The pumpkin pastry appetizer we also ordered, however, was very good. The outside was crispy and flaky and the insides had a savory curry pumpkin flavor. It was perfectly toasty. Not too hot or too cold. It came with a homemade sweet and sour sauce which enhanced the flavors but it was also good on its own. The service here is always questionable. This time we asked the waitress for a little more time to order, and she forgot about us completely and never came back until we finally were able to flag her down, just to take our order. I’ve also had issues with waiting really long wait times for take out orders. If you’re looking for good Thai food and don’t mind waiting a bit on the service, this place is for you.

Still kicking it with their food but lunch specials don’t include spring roll or other extras anymore, just the entrees.

This is really a 3.5ish review. Pros: –Very good Thai food! Had the spicy eggplant which was awesome. –Entrée portions were good and not stingy. –Convenient location and usually decent street parking. –Clean and neat environment. A little loud when full but aren’t most restaurants? Cons: –Service was super duper crazy… slow. I saw one wait person(granted I go on weeknights) and I’m guess, the other person was the manager and one person delivering food to tables. Sidenote: Unfortunately she put an entrée down in front of the wrong person. It sat there in front of this dude for like 3 minutes and then was taken to the rightful owner. Honestly, after seeing that, I felt weird, like shouldn’t they have at least *pretended* to take it to the kitchen and sanitize and whatnot and then re-deliver? But hey, dude didn’t sneeze on it or do anything funky so I applaud him for all his restraint. And yes, I know when we eat out we have much worse happening to our food. Like I said… just pretend. Lie to me a little… let me feel like you care? :-) Honestly, regarding service, they were decent but just couldn’t keep up with the orders and diners walking in, so as long as you have plenty of time and aren’t starving, you’re good to go! –No beer. Yes, really. Crazy, right? But they do have cocktails so not sure what’s up with the beer haterade. While beer isn’t a deal breaker for me, it is for most of my Thai or sushi dining compadres and we’ll yeah, i found it odd to not have beer but a full and not cheap, cocktail list. Overall: I hope they hire or bring on shift, more wait staff but it’s delicious find in Baltimore. Give ‘em a taste run!

While I enjoy the food there, I’m always amazed at how bad the service is… until I go back for the food and am reminded. It’s beyond bad. If the owners are the people running it and seating/taking orders, then they should find another business to be in. If they’ve hired these people, then they need to be fired. The most apathetic servers I’ve ever encountered and that’s saying a lot, as I’ve been to Golden West in Hampden. And while I also enjoy a bit of 90’s grunge, I don’t need to listen to the ENTIRE Nirvana Unplugged CD at a volume of 11. They really need to get it together there, it’s just no longer worth the effort.

3.5? Could be a 4. I really recommend the tables next to the main windows or go towards the back. It’s not too loud and you can gave a great time with friends here. The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were Delicious. I always get the Pineapple fried rice here as well. sweet and savory packed inside a pineapple! There is nothing to complain about when it comes to food. If you live around Baltimore and you love thai, this place is a must try. That being said, I don’t remember the restaurant being very lively. I love the mood, it’s very«authentic» with wooden menus and the glass bottle water cup glasses(?). But it seemed a little quiet and maybe even dull with some of the lights off. If you like a quiet place, get some good chatting with friends going, you might like this place as well. Nevertheless, 4 stars, the food shines over all the other things.

I am so disappointed in this place. I used to love this place and would stop by every time I was passing through the Baltimore area. However, the food has decreased in taste drastically. The Pad Thai was horrible. It just tasted like lime. No tamarind, no spiciness(even though I requested it), and not much flavor. I didn’t even finish it all. The red curry is decent. Nothing fantastic. I remember it being so much better. I will have to look for another Thai spot in Baltimore now.

I barely leave a negative review but tonight is unacceptable! So disappointing as this place had a potential and I really liked it the last time. What happened!!! I don’t even know where to start. We were seated shortly after 7pm excited about our dinner. Things started to get bad soon… We had to call someone to get our orders as we were neglected. Then more than 30minutes go by, almost forgot to mention, during this wait I was vibrating the whole time because there was something underneath the ground that made the chair to vibrate! Literally«vibrating». Thank god someone asked to turn off the AC, and shortly after the vibration stopped. Around 7:40 we were told the food will come out shortly. Then 15 minutes later finally a single bowl of rice came out. And later our main dishes. So this means it took 50 minutes for a drunken noodle dish! I could easily tell that they were short with staff– it was a chaos. I saw people waiting for their take out orders, people dining in had unhappy faces probably because of the same reason why I wasn’t. I initially felt bad for the staff but not until we explained our situation to one. There was no apologies! And honestly I don’t even know who our waiter/waitress was! The tables were soooo close, literally I felt like we were sharing the same table. I could hear the«entire» conversation from the tables next to us! It is very loud inside so you need to shout in order to carry out a long conversation! Finally the food. The drunken noodle was very spicy, period. There was no explanation when we ordered. I remember last time the waitress asked the degree of spiceness but this time nothing. The garlic pieces were huge. Don’t get me wrong, I’m asian and I love garlic! But not when there are undercooked… I left the restaurant not only upset but with an uncomfortable stomach! They totally lost a customer… I don’t know what I am going to do with the groupon I already have… So sad!

Are there any adults running this restaurant? Hello, kids: when someone comes in to pick up a pre-paid order and stands by the bar, they are not invisible: they are paying customers and human beings. So, a suggestion: act like humans and greet your customers — I gave you thirty dollars from the planet Earth, so treat me like a human resident of the planet, not an invisible alien who has wandered in off Calvert St. for no reason. You’re clearly understaffed: tell the owner to stop being cheap and hire more ppl for dinner shifts.

I live in Mount Vernon and Stang of Siam is my go to for Thai food. I love the Drunken Noodle, Beef Salad, and the Tom Kha Gai soup. Almost everything I’ve tried, I liked. The only exception being the Pad Thai– I always go to Thairish for that. Delivery takes a while through Eat24. I’ve never actually eaten at Stang of Siam, but I imagine the service is better.

Ordered via GrubHub and was quoted an hour delivery time. Almost two hours later, we got our food. Boyf asked for his curry to be extra spicy, but instead they made my drunken noodles extra spicy. I can handle real spicy food so it didn’t bother me so much. We did eventually end up trading dishes because he was craving something with some kick to it. Both dishes were good nothing stood out, but it wasn’t terrible. My only complaint is that for the price their portions seem pretty small.

I’ve now been three times for lunch and have had enough food to say that I really love this place. The lunch special is a list of Thai favorites like Drunken Noodles(quite good) and spicy Thai eggplant… and some curries too… plus a small salad and fried spring roll for $ 10.99. Not cheap but it is a LOT of food and you can definitely take some back home or to the office. Unless, of course you just love to eat tasty Thai at lunch and just choose to pig out instead. The back of the menu has a long list of lunch veggie specials. The place was not crowded… nice fast waiter each time. Just about 3 blocks from the heart of the University of Baltimore campus. Tip: You need to ask for the little trio tray of chili pepper, chili sauce, and some kind of marinated hot hot hot pepper. They don’t just bring it to you. Great place. I will be a regular.

Wonderful Thai restaurant in Baltimore. It was very busy on a Friday night, which was great, but not excessively loud. The interior is beautiful. The service was great, quick and came to refill drinks periodically. The food came out pretty fast. I had the Panang Tofu. It was delicious! There was lots of tofu, the curry tasted great. The dish came with a side of white rice and it was perfect to mix in my rice into my tofu and curry. My friend had the chicken khao Soi which looked like a soupy noodle. She noted that she hasn’t seen that popular Thai dish at many other Thai restaurants in Baltimore, so she figured she’d give it a try. She said it was delicious and the portion was quite sizeable. For dessert we shared the mango sticky rice. Compared to other mango sticky rices I’ve eaten, this rice was much less sweet and much more gelatinous. I think it was a balanced dessert because the rice was warm and soft, and complemented the sweetness of the mangoes very well. The presentation of the dessert was top notch too. Definitely would recommend, just a few blocks away from Penn Station so very accessible.

Best Thai food in Baltimore! Whenever I have a craving for authentic Thai food I go straight to Stang of Siam. This place does have delivery but only within a mile radius. Simple menu with traditional dishes. Favorites: — Papaya salad: spicy, crunchy, everything I look for in a papaya salad — Spicy beef salad: great chili flavor, one of my favorite items from any Thai place and this one does it right –Spring rolls: crunchy, not too greasy, delicious sweet Thai chili sauce –Baltimore crab fried rice: traditional fried rice with tons of flavor with Maryland blue crab as the protein, what could be bad about that TIP: if you’re into spice, ask for hot sauce. It’s a trio of red pepper flakes, chili oil, and garlic chili sauce

Came with a Groupon(2 cocktails/wine, 1 appetizer, and 2 entrees) on a Friday night. We had to wait awkwardly in the front for a bit for someone to notice us and seat us. Inside was very nice though. They had nice dark purple walls and candles on all the tables. This would be a nice date night spot. After we were finally seated, we started off with the Tod mun goong for the appetizer. This was just mehh. Maybe because I didn’t read the description that closely but it was minced shrimp that was deep fried and served with sauce. We also ordered a Mai Tai and a mango mojito. These were disappointing too. The Mai Tai was okay but the«mojito» was not anywhere near what a mojito should be. It was too sweet and tasted like it came from a mixer. For the entrees, we split the Duck Gra Prao and the Stang noodles. Now these impressed me! They were both on the signature menu and I can see why! The Duck Gra Prao was crispy duck with basil and garlic chili sauce. It was really flavorful and very spicy! And the Stang noodles were good as well. It reminded me of drunken noodles but with lots of seafood and veggies. It had mussels, calamari, scallops and shrimp. They definitely didn’t skimp on the seafood! And this was spicy as well. Service was almost non-existent. Our waitress didn’t check on us once after our food was brought to the table. At the end of our meal we wanted to try dessert, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. We eventually gave up, and when we finally flagged her down, we just got the check. The food was great, but the service was pretty bad, especially for the amount you’ll spend here. I probably wouldn’t come here again unless there was a Groupon and I was in the mood for mediocre service.

Came here once at lunch and got a drunken noodle lunch special(comes with a little salad and roll). Our food came out really quickly; I thought that my noodles were really good and a good deal Came back to Stang for dinner a different day and ordered the drunken noodle again but this time it seemed like the noodles had been soaking too long and were big and floppy, in a bad way. All the vegetables were undercooked and crunchy more than I would like them to be(in both the tom kha and the drunken noodle) The service was slow and inattentive at dinner

Good but definitely not great Thai restaurant in the general downtown Baltimore area. It is a nice looking restaurant, the décor is charming and cute, nothing special but it makes you feel a little warm to be there. Service is just okay, staff is friendly enough but not overly attentive, they kind of leave you to your own devices after taking your order and delivering your food. They don’t even really come back for the check without some prodding which isn’t necessarily a bad thing every once ad a while. Food was just okay, calamari was nicely breaded with decent flavor, it also wasn’t overly oily and the accompanying sauce had a nice zest to it. Main course was the pineapple fried rice, sweet and tangy, chicken was a tad dry but not horrible. Rice was fluffy and well prepared. While I’d never make the long haul to Baltimore just for Stang if I was in the neighborhood and seeking Thai, I’d give it a go.

I really tried to like this place… I really did. But to the point where you’re waiting over an hour for a PICKUP order??? That’s messed up and unprofessional. The food is good but baltimore has a lot of great thai restaurants including thai landing, thai arrow, and elephant wok(great quality and even better prices). Also, stang of Siam is the kind of place that charges $ 20 corkage fee for BYOB. The point where they are ineffectively slow on food, service, and communication makes the whole dining experience lackluster. Save yourself from disappointment and go to a different restaurant.

I like Stang of Siam food — too bad the service I received recently was TERRIBLE. We ordered pick-up through Unilocal and showed up about 20 minutes after ordering(the website said 10 – 30 minutes). We then proceeded to wait a FULLHOUR, sitting in a cold area of the restaurant at a tiny table, watching other people be fed. At one point, one of the waitresses seemed to indicate that they had forgotten our food, but made no further comment. We were ignored — to the point where the people would even avoid looking at our table — for the entire hour. Obviously, good restaurants get busy, and I don’t mind waiting if things are going crazy. But being ignored and basically shoved off into a corner on a not-very-busy night was offensive. The right way to handle this is to apologize, explain the situation, bring a glass of water, and to check in on us periodically — not to avoid the situation like a dog that has pooped on the floor. Of course, don’t get me wrong, there’s more than just a single incident of bad service to complain about. The street parking was virtually nonexistent, the corking fee is an extortionary $ 20, and the price of the food is pretty extreme. Stang of Siam has good food — but there are plenty other good Thai places in Baltimore I can go instead.
