My employer always schedule their end-of-the-year happy hour here, so dropped in a few times. Place was small, and the food and beer was OK. Not much impression other than that though.

It was our first night in Baltimore, and we looked for a place to grab a beer. We saw this completely empty bar with cute lights everywhere, and we entered the bar. What a good surprise. The bartender was very nice and friendly, she suggested some different beers and gave us free samples. We came back the next night, and a karaōke was there. Still friendly people. We had so much fun. But something surprised me. The owner was there the 2 consecutive nights, sat in a corner without doing anything, only looking around to supervise.

Mothers Day, the café and bar was not busy so my gf and her son came in to eat. Pancakes, yougurt, and an egg platter were ordered. Now mind you, we had been on a 45 min wait at another near by restaurant before we walked in here. Literally, we walked five mins up the road from making the previous reservation. We ordered our food pretty quickly after walking in. We understand it was starting to get a little busy on the restaurant side. Our drinks took a long to come out. After getting a phone call that our table was ready at the other restaurant(40 mins after walking into this place), it still took an additional 25 minutes to get our food. The excuse was that itvis, «very busy on the restaurant side.» 2 other couples around us actually got their meals before us. Summary: a little over 1 hour to get pancakes, eggs and bacon, and yogurt. Food was good when we got it. Service was average. Would not go back.

When my sister told me we were going to grab pie, I was skeptical. We’re driving all the way to some hipster paradise to eat pie? But when I realized that you could sit in the Hon Bar next door to the Hon Café and order pie at the friggin bar, I was sold! What a great idea! We had a slice of blueberry crumble pie a la mode and a slice of apple pie. The slices were huge and we thought it was a daunting task after a day of foodie delights, but we made it through! The bar is small, but they have a little corner set up for live music and I can see myself enjoying a good band with a glass of Natty Boh on a cool evening.

Just an overhyped bar. I honestly can’t find any redeeming qualities about the actual bar or menu items. 2 stars because the staff is great, and most of the clientel aren’t pretentious…

I really enjoy this place for drinking. It is small, but cozy and the bartender is really friendly. Also, they do a lot of karaōke and live music, which brings in an interesting local crowd. Great for people watching while you’re having some drinks.

I hate that I’m about to write a not so great review. It pains me. And, surprisingly, it has nothing to do with the Baltimore«Hon» trademark debacle of 2010. I keep coming back to Hon Bar for two reasons. One — their hon burger. A glorious creation involving bacon, feta cheese and a special dill sauce. Oh ma gawd, it’s good. Two — the crab dip. I keeping kicking myself for coming back to Hon Bar for two reasons. One — the service is atrocious. I cannot figure out how a bar and restaurant that never get that crowded and seem fully staff take so long to get you food and drinks. One time a bar tender told me their«kitchen gets backed up easily.» Whatever that means. Two — the bar tenders look perpetually confused and rarely can manage their bar. I stood(looking pretty cute) at the bar for about 10 minutes before anyone came and asked me what I would like to drink. The food is good and the company is a nice break from the hipsters in Hampden, but be prepared to get annoyed, be annoyed, then stay annoyed.

They stopped their happy hour specials during football games for the«Christmas season.» Some BS about the kitchen not being able to keep up. Used to go here because it had NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV. Unfortunately, I am not one to chase an overpriced brunch omelet with my Resurrection, so I’m done. The televisions were too small for football viewing anyway. Headed elsewhere to get my NFL fix.

Go here if you want to overpay for warm beer and be ignored by hipster bartenders.

This place has changed a lot over the years. I don’t come here like I used too, but when I do I’m never let down. The drinks are good, the beer is cold, and the bartenders are awesome.

Loved the pink flamingos. They reminded me of my uncle Kevin who loved them in the same spirit. Delicious martinis at half the New York City cost. Yes, please.

Attached to Café Hon, Hon Bar is a full neighborhood bar, with relatively little smoking for a Baltimore bar. While the Café is open next door, you can order food from the bar tender, often bypassing the long lines at Café Hon.
