Wendy’s

Ordered in the drive thru… Staying within my point limit I just picked up a kid size chocolate frosty. Just needed something to handle my sweet tooth. Boy oh boy. Although it was small… it did the job. I’m atisfied.

Well, it’s fast food. But, I think of all the fast food joints in the area, Wendy’s has the best burgers (especially after they tweaked their recipe). However, this Wendy’s is located in a somewhat sketch area and the parking lot /​drive-​thru is really, really weird. Never had a problem here but it’s not somewhere I’d go really late at night.

This is the closest «fast food» place to my house and it’s a viable option when the Love of My Life and I have had a rotten/​hard day and don’t feel like cooking during the week sometimes. Wendy’s is one of those places where you actually could manage to get something relatively healthy, if you wanted to — I particularly like their baked potatoes and chili options, and their salads are always good. This location is pretty much your standard Wendy’s, though it’s in a sketch neighborhood (some inner city low-​rise projects are right next to it, shiver) and you have to be alert when you’re walking around there. There’s a police substation located inside, however, so you’ll be safe when actually ordering your food and paying. I don’t have an issue with going there, though the boyfriend always insists that he comes with me, probably a good idea in light of things. If you’re doing drive-​through here, you’ll be just fine.
The food is fine and I’ve never had a problem with getting the wrong thing. The staff is sometimes friendly, sometimes not. That’s the nature of the beast. As long as they don’t spit in our food, it’s all good.
This location is open until 1am.
UPDATE, 9÷10÷2014: This location is closed permanently due to a fire that occurred in June of 2014.

When you are are up late and you want something quick and greasy to make you feel warm and fuzzy, check out this Wendy’s which is open till 1am. If you go after midnight, you might even make some money or get extra food b/​c there have been at least 3 times where I have paid and either the person at drive thru didn’t know how to swipe my credit card, gave me back more change or gave me extra food. Make sure when you pick up your order that they give you ketchup, napkins, utensils and the right food. Other than that, you can’t really go wrong with Wendy’s.
