Blaze has captured much of my time and money since they opened, and I have no qualms about it because the atmosphere, food, and service is excellent. They have a fantastic beer and cocktail list and their bartenders are always willing to go the extra mile. The wood-fired ovens give the whole place a homey feeling, and the rotation of delicious wood-grilled menu items is excellent. I love to go here after work or late night, and I frequently bring out-of-towners here to show them that our little city has some pretty great dining options. Some overall menu favorites: Thai chili chicken wings, fries with duck gravy, the roasted beet salad with the crispy fried leeks(not currently on the menu but hopefully will return in the future). The pizzas are fantastic and perfect for splitting.

If you want upscale, creative bar food in an eclectic and modern atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed. Had the Ribeye and it was one of the best I’ve had in a while(especially at this price point). Wood fired goodness at its best. Pizzas are great too. Can’t miss with this one.

I was in Bangor for business last night. I was actually going somewhere else when I spotted this place. The great music and bar scene drew me in. I sat at the bar and ordered a local IPA(Big Wicked, I also had the Simmer Down later on). There were 2 bartenders(I think 1 of them was named Chris?) and both were attentive and helpful. I had the Mushroom Gruyère Burger w/the Grass Fed Beef Option. It was THEBESTBURGERTHAT I’VEEVERHAD!!! Having lived in NYC and Boston, I didn’t think that I’d find a burger this good in Bangor, ME of all places! You HAVETO try this! I can’t wait to go back! GREAT Atmosphere! GREAT Service! GREAT Beer Selection! INCREDIBLE Burger!!!

At blaze they remember you. The bartender is my favorite part(Chris). He can practically read your mind and it’s incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Big fan of the pizzas and the pork belly lolly pops. The fact that they are open late late for food on weekends is huge. Gorgeous space and lots of good energy. Highly, highly reccomend.

Best chicken sandwich and duck fat fries I’ve had! Also the fire roasted salad was amazing! I got that as my side and fiancé got the fries and my gosh j didn’t know a side salad could taste so good! Awesome beer selection too.

Not consistent quality. Understand the range of drinks but come on carry Guinness or a Smithwicks… sometimes you just want a pizza with a beer you know. Simplify…

This was the first restaurant I have been to that sells duck burgers. It was awesome. The food was really good. It was very busy but service was still quick. The prices seemed a bit high for some of the food items. It was very loud.

The food is good but the live music is loud. They are spot on with service, food quality, and timeliness. The live music is way too loud for a «relaxed» environment. Just tone it down! Please! I love the food but sweet Jesus, I can’t hold s conversation with my friends! If Blaze does this, they’d be rockin’

My daughter and i stopped in here for dinner not so long ago. an incredibly varied menu from specialty pizza to entrees like duck and a nice bone-in chop. i had the duck which was very nicely done with a hash w/duck sausage. interesting combination! the chop was terrific… prepared just a tad pink but terrific. this is a must-visit place in re-vitalized downtown bangor. been a couple of years, but the bar harbor location is also good if you’re doing the tourist thing… but bangor is open year-round! one closing note… while my daughter had an interesting craft beer, my vodka tonic seemed a bit watery. great service throughout… attentive while unobtrusive.

Best in Bangor for Urban Burgers — yummy high end burgers with duck fat fries. And an excellent selection of beers on tap. Local meads. Great atmosphere.

Hands down our favorite place in the Bangor area — fantastic food, with the burgers, tacos, and pizza as highlights. Constantly evolving menu and specials make it worth many return visits. Service is generally strong with a few weak spots here and there. The outside seating(in summer) is a bit cramped but worth it(the inside seating is equally cramped, anyway).

Craft beer, inventive, fresh and delicious food, great setting/décor — and oh, try the beers before you decide. What more could you want. Blaze fires on all cylinders. This is a go to stop for me when in Bangor.

Luck of Blaze been following us around for months now. I mean every place we went to in past two months had something to relate to fire, flames & blaze — and they all been incredible adventures. Blaze in Bandor was no exception. Listen, we liked it so much, we came back again next day — it is impressive. Drinks menu is nicely done, there are definitely some gems there worth trying — Slainte was darn good! Now, to the food. Appetizers menu is one I wanted to try every single item on. Roasted bone marrow was yummy — rich, fatty goodness. Duck Fat Fries seemed disappear quickly between two of us — so, so, so good! My personal favorite, tho, goes to raw bar and their topped oysters. Now, this is work of art. Both Cali & New England toppings were incredible pairing. Those mustard seeds work so well with oysters! Wow. There are plenty of main entrees to choose from as well. Scallop tacos were perfect — very flavorful. Pizza — it was fun make your own and pick your own ingredients, just a way you like it. I loved their décor, too — graphics at the bar and on the walls are simply gorgeous. Oh, this goes on permanent bookmarks list for me. I am getting hungry just writing about it.

Trendy place in downtown Bangor. There was a group of us and we got a nice seat by the window. I ordered the Oak Grilled Duck Breast and it was deliciously tender and juicy. The potato hash was so petite and flavorful. They also have plenty of unique craft beer selections. But I had my all time favorite beer cider — Strongbow. Pretty good experience overall, will return when I’m back in town!

Their byline says it all: craft beer and wood fired flavors. Grilled Thai chili chicken wings, duck fat fries and wild mushroom pizza were perfect with a few pints of local IPA. The surprise hit was the pastrami salmon salad(salmon pastrami, watercress, rye bread crumbs, pickled red onion, Dijon aioli topped with a fried duck egg). Wow! Our server Zack was friendly and efficient(as were all the staff we encountered). Topped it all off with an Old Rasputin… Nitro infused Russian Imperial stout(abv 9%). Bad place to be on a diet. Solid five-star dining.

Let’s begin by saying, I would try this place again. Started with the French fries cooked in duck fat. Maybe a slightly more moist interior with a crispy outside(or it could have been the timing of the frying) and maybe a slightly more buttery flavor. Nothing amazing, they were fries. I ordered the fig & prosciutto w/drizzled ricotta. It was yummy, but there was too much ham which made the slices too salty. There wasn’t a drizzle, but a full presence of ricotta. Hmm, there were sliced figs which there was suppose to be, but it was like eating sliced figs on top of my pizza, meaning the the toppings didn’t blend together. I took a bite and it was a bite of ham, I took another bite and it was warm ricotta, took another bite and got crunchy fig. I felt too much toppings when a little could go a longer way.
