Ok so I Love the Ham Shoppe and have for years. The things you should know:
1. It is take out only
2 the bread and ingredients are fresh and tasty. Try one of the speciality sandwiches like the valley scorcher.
3 the service is spotty at best, think Seinfeld. Sometimes you’ll meet the soup nazi and sometimes you meet the flaky waitress. Aka check your order before you leave
But it is very good and very big sandwiches. All my friends love it.
The best way to enjoy is to get your order, go into Valle crucis community park that is behind the mast general store annex and candy barrel. You can get into the river at this spot and cool off. It is my kids and I’s favorite summer activity.

The personnel wasn’t too friendly. Lots of «no» signs inside. No public restrooms and no eating there.
I would say my sandwich was just ok. I got the one with pimento cheese, bacon, spinach and onion. Didn’t feel like I could taste the pimento cheese.
Overall, it was a fine place to stop for lunch. Just don’t expect over the top customer service.

Not a great experience. Food was okay and they bake on premises so that was fine. No place to eat-take out only. No restroom for customers. Odd and cumbersome system for ordering (why not just order at the register like everywhere else). Person taking our orders seemed a little rude and impatient.
We took the food to a local park and had a nice picnic and used the bathroom there, so it wasn’t a bad day, just annoying.
