We got there after 5pm so the tasting room was closed but the café was open. The wood fired pizza is delicious! They toss the dough in front of you in the open kitchen. The service was fast and friendly. It was me that tried to do my laundry in the water feature. Ruined it for everyone.

So I had to write the perfect review for. Place that makes their own wines and have there own grapes in their farm winery. I must say there they only place that makes the best fruits wines. There blueberry wine and their cranberry wine was the BEST fruit wine I EVERTASTED! I also had a taste of their Ice Wine literally I died also their fruit wine has the highest alcohol count than any fruit wine but it’s still taste like fruit wine. I definitely ordering more wine online! A must go if your Maine

Friendly staff but the tastes were the smallest pours I’ve ever seen and the wines were unimpressive. If you like sweet wine, you may enjoy this. That seems to be their thing. The chocolate room was closed.

Stopped in after a nice long hike and the wine is actually very good! Our server was friendly and very knowledgable but the process was a little rushed & uncomfortable. We were asked to check the 6 wines we wanted to taste and the server would pour our taste and then stand there front of of us with the next bottle of wine, waiting awkwardly for us to finish. I’ve never been to a tasting room before where they don’t encourage you to relax and enjoy your wine, instead they waited on us as quickly as possible so that they could fit new customers at the bar.

Very diverse selection of wines and the producer was very nice and honest. The black current apple was our favorite. We also got to try an ice wine.

Love this place! It’s a little bit out of the way if you are staying in Northeast Harbor like we were, but it’s definitely a must if you’re visiting the area. First of all, the price is great. It’s $ 5 to sample six wines of your choosing from their original wines. This cost also includes a wine glass to take home. Our bartender was wonderful when we were sampling. He was very educated on the process for each individual wine and was excellent at describing the tastes before we tried them. Their Pinot Noir was oaky and delicious(I bought a bottle). Their most impressive wines by far were their«fruit wine» selection. I’m usually hesitant on fruit wines because of how often they are sickeningly sweet or syrupy. Their’s were quite the opposite and very interesting to the taste for a dessert-wine option. I recommend trying their Blueberry Wine(you’re in Maine… Duh), Currant-Apple Wine, and then their Pinot Noir if you like light red wines. There’s a cute wine-related gift shop around the tasting area for before or after you taste. All in all, great wine & great service — highly recommend!

We had high hopes when visiting the cellars but were left disappointed. All of their grapes and a lot of their fruit are shipped in(not grown locally), and most of the wines were just ok. The pourer was very knowledgeable, but quite pompous. Overall, if you go it won’t be a complete waste of time, but I doubt we will make a return trip when we are in Bar Harbor next year.

Delicious blueberry and cranberry wine! My husband and I did the wine tasting here and what delicious options we had! Perfect summer wine and though I am not a fruity drink or fruity wine person, the cranberry and blueberry wines were my favorite! I definitely will have to order some of these for the summer rooftop hangs! Service was friendly and the space was quite pretty and rustic. Swing by for a taste if you are in the area for sure!

I’ve been coming here for years for the blueberry wine. My heart breaks that hey are no longer carrying the dry red blueberry wine. That was the best one! The apple wine is good, as is the sweet blueberry but none of them are as good as the dry blueberry. Sigh. Still a solid winery. It’s not very big, and the patrons tend to be out-of-towners, especially true in the summer months. But it’s a fun afternoon to come out here and try some local wines. The blueberries they use are all local. The bottles aren’t that expensive(only one is over $ 20), and you will pay less than you would if you bought it in one of the shops in the Ha-Bah(Harbor). There are no r’s in Maine. Stay for the wine tasting. It only takes about half an hour and is completely free. It’s a great chance to try before you buy, and the guides really know their stuff. The wines do vary from year to year, so even someone who goes every year *cough cough* can still participate without feeling bad about it. I always come home with a few bottles. They make unique gifts and are quite delicious. Go!

Until Bar Harbor Cellars, I’d never met a fruit wine that I liked. Stop in for a tasting to see for yourself. We walked out with a blueberry wine and an apple something or other combo. Both were delicious and have already been consumed. Wish I’d bought more! We stopped in while it was raining. what better way to spend a rainy afternoon than at a tasting! Apparently they will also be opening up a wood fired pizza place sometime in June 2013 that will be run by a local farmer. Fun fact: They don’t grow the grapes — they import the juice and make the wine in Maine. Except for the blueberries. Those are local.

This spot saved a rainy day in Acadia. We spent a good part of the day at the free wine tasting and picked up quite a few souvenirs for friends and family, as well as some excellent blueberry jalepeno jam for ourselves.

My husband and I visited Maine for the first time this summer. We discovered the Bar Harbor Cellars winery after first visiting the downtown beer tasting site. Initially there was quite a wait so we left and went off site to the real brewery which has scheduled tours and later returned. The server had noticed we were there and was apologetic. We did not try the red wine just as a matter of preference. We normally like chardonnay but after experiencing the fruit wines we were hooked. My husband was so impressed that he wanted a dozen. I talked him into getting only 6. I am sorry that I did not go through with the dozen to begin with. We ordered the cranberry, apple raspberry, black currant and Pinot Blanc. The atmosphere is relaxed and there are other items available like cheese/crackers/chocolate room. There are sample cheese and crackers to try. This is a fun place to visit. The only downside is that there is no way to really order directly on line-there has to be communication via email or phone to place orders. I am just use to placing order and checking out. These wines are only regional to Bar Harbor. Just as a FYI-the brewery tour was quite interesting with tasting after the tour. On site there is BBQ meals available for purchase. It was a little difficult to find because it is off the main road.

Great wine tasting experience. We got to try seven wines in a laid back atmosphere. The guy pouring our wine told us a lot of good history and facts. The wine was tasty, mostly sweeter except for the merlot. I left with three bottles. The building is really nice inside and they have a room devoted to chocolate.

This was within walking distance of our motel and we decided to go to a wine tasting there(this is continuously running from 10 – 6). We were greeted by a knowledgeable staff who were friendly and easygoing. My friends and I were given an ample tasting of six or seven different wines, including fruit wines, whites, and reds. The flavors were all nice(but I wasn’t a big fan of the Riesling, which I usually am) and each wine’s history was explained in detail. My favorite was the Black Currant Apple($ 18.95 a bottle). Between the three of us, we bought six bottles of wine and received a special dollar off each bottle. The winery also features chocolate, coffee, snacks, and cheeses, some local, some not. Overall, this was a good experience and I always appreciate supporting a local business.
