Best place to get Hungarian cuisine in town. Cafeteria style, you can eat in or get it to go.

Food is authentic. Cabbage rolls are huge and previously have tried the perogi’s. Today I was feeling cabbage and dumplings and a side salad The side salad. could have been my lunch as was a nice size a little disappointed that when ordered Cabbage and Dumplings thought would get fair amnt of both not the case a lot of cabbage and a few dumpling pieces next time I will just order dumplings and have cabbage sauce on them.

Went here yesterday for lunch. I got the #2 lunch which consists of two cabbage rolls, one side(I got mashed potatoes), slice of bread, and a drink. The cabbage rolls were good. The meat was tender and the cabbage was cooked well. However, I didn’t like the tomato sauce on the rolls. The taste reminds me of Chef Boyardee ravioli. It had a very bland, canned flavor. The mashed potatoes were good. The bread was my favorite part, fresh and homemade! YUM! I might go back just to try something else. Very heavy food but you can’t find large portions like this elsewhere for $ 7!

This place was nothing like I expected. It was so much more. While the décor is plain, the food definitely is not. I ordered the sampler meal which included hungarian sausage, cabbage and dumplings, cabbage roll, sauer kraut and was ready to walk away, the server stopped me to tell me there’s more food. I looked at my plate there wasn’t anymore room and she hands me a big bowl of chicken paprikash aling with bread and a cup for a drink. All of this for $ 9.00! I’ll definitely return absolutely delicious

Simple, and amazing. I had the Chicken Paprikas, and it was the best I’ve had since Gran passed over a decade ago. A mountain of great food for $ 7.50, drink included. You won’t have room for desert, but get the cherry strudel anyway. I won’t describe the location or interior as I see they’re moving a few blocks away soon, but I will definitely go back and visit them in their new digs. The hours are odd(11a-2p), but with food this good they can set whatever window they want and I’ll find a way to make my schedule fit theirs.

LOVEIT! One of my favorite places to eat lunch in the area. The cabbage rolls taste just like my mom’s. The chicken paprikas is pretty good. The sausage, made down the street at Al’s meat market is great, we get pounds of it for Easter every year. Everything else is awesome, good old fashioned, homemade eastern European style food.

This is a restaurant that takes you back to a less stressfull time. Décor is a throwback to the 40’s and 50’s diner. It seems the price of a good lunch is too! We each got the sampler plate with different choices so we could share, bread and a drink for $ 17 and change. The kraut and sausage was some of the best I’ve ever had. The Paprikash was delicious. Stand in line to order from the delicounter. If you show up closer to 2pm they give extra size portions… but you risk the chance that they may run out of certain menu items. Everything is made fresh! If you like great Hungarian food… try Al’s Corner Restaurant!

I love this place. I work in the Barberton area and normally head here on Thursdays for lunch. I did some research for good places to dine in at and this placed showed up as a popular spot. First trip there, I had the sampler and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve never had Hungarian food before but I’m a fan of all the ingredients used. I don’t think there’s anything that I dislike. I’m a big fan of the sausages and cabbage rolls. The only thing I would like changed is more spice in the spicy sausages but I fully understand that not everyone can take the heat so it has to be kept at a minimum to please the crowd and not the individuals. They do have crushed pepper there to add though. Overall, it’s a lovely place and has a real hometown feel to it. The portions are insanely good too!

This places gets high marks as a Hungarian restaurant on «RoadFood» website. We traveled out of our way(by 10 miles) to try their famous Chicken Paprikash lunch.(They are open until 2pm daily and basicly serve chicken paprikash, cabbage and dumplings, homemade sausage and cabbage rolls… all homemade in the back kitchen and a full meal(with beverage) never exceeds $ 10.) Alas, the day we arrived they had run out of chicken and were serving the paprikash gravy over spaetzel… quite a «thin» meal. The gravy was about average as were the spaetzel. We’ll try them again, but I’d be sure to call to make sure they have chicken available.(They’re about .5 mi from the famous Barberton White House Chicken featured on Michael Symon’s Food Feuds, which is another wonderful restaurant to eat at in Barberton.
