Solid diner. Good eggs, decent French toast. Very prompt, friendly service with no wait to get seated on a Sunday. Coffee refills were very prompt. Tried the bacon and the sausage, both were what you would expect in a family diner. Really enjoyed the art work on the walls. If I’m in town again and need a solid breakfast, I’d stop here again.

The only good thing about this place is the prices. Waited 45 minutes for a bland, burned burger.

I had the egg and bacon breakfast sandwich. At $ 5.95 I expected it to be a little larger, but that was a nonissue after I was done eating it and was very full! The other diners who joined me were pleased with their meals as well. The coffee was weak, which was the only disappointment. The service was stellar! I would eat here again.

I wanted to like it. I love small places. I didn’t. The portion of pimento cheese on a tomato was tiny. The boys burgers were larger, but very very dry and not served medium well as it was listed. They were dunking them in ranch and ketchup to eat them they were so dry. You pay an upcharge if $ 1.75 to get fries instead of chips, but only end up with about 8 small fries. I got lemon pie(due to still being hungry). It came out in a pile instead of a piece and was not cold as I expected.

I missed the hype at this place! Last year I had breakfast at the place across the street, who apparently later went out of business. I sat there and watched tons of people herd into Pat’s, so I said to myself… I’ll check that place out next time. I ordered the Pat’s breakfast. Granted that I’m not a huge breakfast fan, but I know what proper returns upon requests are. I ordered my two eggs cooked medium. One egg came out runny and one was over cooked. The same with the sausage… one was crispy and one was pink. I could push the eggs to the side, but when I bite into a piece of sausage and it’s pink, I can’t bypass two protein mishaps on one plate. It didn’t end there though. The fried potatoes were also over cooked and burnt. I probably could have eaten the only thing edible on my plate, the biscuit. But my husband saved the day and went up to the bar area and ordered me a BLT. I swear I’m not a brat, I just don’t like under cooked eggs or meat. The waitress who told us that it was her first day, came over and noticed that I’d not eaten the Pat’s breakfast, acknowledged the facts. So she is the only reason that I’m giving them a second star. I will also add that another lady(who I assume was a manager) came over and apologized. But my final rant… the BLT sucked too! literally, maybe three or four pieces of bacon that didn’t reach the edge of the toast… Don’t say that I didn’t warn ya!

This place is a small diner that had very reasonably prices meals. I ate the bourbon glazed burger with cole slaw and fries. Pottery good for a fresh made hamburger and the cole slaw was delicious(sauce made in house) and the sweet potato fries were tender with just the right crisp. The waitress was super friendly and took great care for us. They even brought my grandparents each a big ol’ slice of pie(chocolate and coconut cream) for free. They were celebrating their 62nd anniversary.

This is NOT fast food. This is food cooked to order and it’s good diner fare. Service is friendly and good to make sure your tea doesn’t run too low.

The food was great, but it took forever. The portions were smaller than I anticipated as well.

I rate restaurants on five things, each represents a star: 1. Atmosphere 2. Service 3. Price 4. Food 5. Wow PROS — atmosphere — A nice seat-yourself small town atmosphere makes you feel welcome and at ease. The place is not run down and was nicely decorated with local art and holiday decorations. — price — Not sure if I saw a meal that was over $ 8. Prices were very manageable for a dine in place. Comparable to fast food prices. CONS — service — Throughout the time of my dining with a client we were waited on fairly regularly, glasses were always full and we were taken care of, but there were a few things I didn’t like. First and foremost, my order was wrong, I ordered a Slawburger, got a normal burger and the ticket said a mushroom and Swiss. Wrong twice! I didn’t take the time to have it remade because I was on a time limit. Second, multiple waitresses were helping us at once, it got confusing. Third, no one ever brought me the ticket, I had to essentially re-order at the front to pay, but only after waiting for a good while to receive a ticket. — food — The whole reason I took my client to Pats Place was because multiple reviews said«best burger in Bardstown». I ordered a Slawburger, fried okra, coffee and a water. I’ve worked in food before and I can confidently say that the hamburgers are frozen patties and might be «cooked to order» but they are not pattied to order. It was unremarkable and I’m positive I can find a better hamburger in town. The fried okra was actually fantastic! I wished I ordered a second order. Like another reviewer, the coffee was not worth a second cup. Watered down and just plain not good. Overall the quality of the food had me wishing I chose a different place. — wow — This category is the«above and beyond» thing that makes me love coming here and something that makes me want to tell everyone else about it. Pats Place just doesn’t stand out in any way as a restaurant that I want to frequent or encourage anyone else to do the same. Based on my own experience, I believe that multiple reviews for Pats Place have been fabricated.

I wish I could review the quality of the food here but the service was so terrible that we never got to eat! We stopped in here to have dinner during the Bourbon Festival. All the places in town were busy and we expected to have to wait. They had a table available but the waitress said it would be about a 45 minute wait for our food, which we were fine with. We ordered and waited… and waited… and waited. Other diners arrived, ate and left. We attempted to wave down the waitresses several times but we were ignored. After waiting patiently for an hour and a half, a waitress finally took the time to check on us. By this time, our glasses were empty, our stomachs were growling, and my one year old was getting hungrier, sleepier, and grouchier by the minute. The waitress discovered that there was a mix-up with our order and we would have to wait another 20 – 30 minutes to get our food. We were fed up and left. Next time we’ll be going to Mammy’s Kitchen, or any of the other restaurants in town.

Are these other reviews real? This place is a joke my niece makes better food than this place. The food is something you would get at a High School cafeteria! I ordered a chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce and it was bland and flavorless. Don’t waste your money or time in this local hole in da wall!

Best best best place to eat. You can get it how you like it and they make it good. Best burger in town, awesome salads, yumO specials, all served by a family like staff.

Mammy’s what? This place serves better food and better staff in a place that is comfortably air conditioned and well-lit. Put this on your breakfast list and go see something special with the extra time you’ll have not standing and waiting.

I have to keep in mind that this establishment is in Bardstown, Kentucky — a town the size of a dime. This review is purely based on an out-of-towner’s breakfast experience. Seat yourself restaurant in what looks like a renovated living room. It doesn’t matter what you order from the simple menu, everything is cheap. Our food was unsurprising: my Egg Bacon & Cheese Sandwich, tasted like unseasoned egg, bacon, and Kraft cheese on some toast. So really, I can’t complain — I got what I ordered. Coffee tastes like water but our waitress was quick to refill. This place is clean and friendly. If you’re looking for cheap sit-down breakfast, this would be the place.

Pat’s Place has become one of my favorite spots for breakfast and lunch. Full disclosure I haven’t had dinner there so I can’t speak to what that experience is like. Breakfast is very good and affordable they have a simple menu and there is something there for everybody. The pat’s breakfast is my usual go to with scrambled eggs and cheese, bacon, potatoes, and wheat toast. For lunch it doesn’t get any better than the Pat Burger or Club Sandwich. Also if you haven’t had them before Pat’s serves up a really good fried pickles app. Bottom line Pat’s is a great place if your needing something quick, simple, and delicious located in downtown Bardstown.
