Food was great but service is poor. Three tables filled and four servers. Could hear them fighting over who had to take my table. Server came over asked what do I want. Gave her half my order and she walked away. Had to come back and get my drink order. Asked for coffee and got ice tea. This was ok because I like both. Bottom line is that this second time where food was good but servers were not. As my server told me boss is on her. They all seem scared to work here.

After reading the reviews, we almost left before being seated. Because it was New Year’s Day and not much around the area, we stayed. The place was packed but we were seated fairly quickly. Some reviews mentioned the coffee was weak but this was not the case today(I like strong coffee). We found the eggs, bacon, hash browns to be good. Pancakes were ok. Our server was great and attentive especially considering how busy they were. Overall I’m glad we didn’t walk out.

If you love Flap-Jacks this isn’t the location to visit. Take the extra 15 minutes and drive to the Southport location. The wait staff is slow, the kitchen was«too busy» to make well done hash browns, and is generally not as good/friendly as the other locations.

Meh, I have had better, is absolutely right. OY ! I have been wanting to try them for awhile now. I read the various past reviews, and I was really hoping things might have improved despite the current 3 star — average rating. Well here it goes: I always thought one couldn’t screw up breakfast, but I have been proven wrong. The only thing that stops me from giving them a 1 star rating is the biscuits and gravy. It was half way decent, and I barely mean HALF way. The rest of the breakfast was below par. The pancakes were tough and heavy, not light and fluffy. The eggs were beyond over medium, and the hash browns were not cooked right either. And sadly, everything was lukewarm to borderline cold. The coffee is never strong enough too. I am a self proclaimed coffee connoisseur/snob, so weak coffee is torturous to drink. It’s just hot brown colored swill water. The place was busy, so I hoped it would be their saving grace. But unfortunately that was part of the problem. They just couldn’t keep up. I suppose after as long as they have been open, they just don’t have it down to an art form. For a primarily breakfast oriented place, you would think they would by now. The service was acceptable for the place being what it is. Our bill was 30.00 for three people. Ouch. When we paid the bill, the young gal at the register asked us how our meal was. My fiancé said it was horrible. She looked at us like a deer in the headlights and said — OK — in a mechanical way. She said nothing more, like — I am sorry, or,…in what way was your meal unacceptable? Or maybe,…even BETTERYET, let me get the manager. When we left, she tried to wish us a nice day. Uh OK,… What an indifferent and passive aggressive jab that was. Unbelievable. What a bummer. I guess this one is definitely — off the list.

I have been picking up breakfast here for six to eight months always get the same thing, but this morning I only got half of my order, called when I got home to speak to the manager about it and all he could do was yell at me and tell me that I was trying to tell him he was cheating me I never said those words I just told him that maybe it was a mistake but he also told me that I’ve been paying half price for my food for 6 to 8 months he is a very rude owner he does not deserve to be in business. I don’t think with different servers taking my order on the phone over 6 to 8 months that every server would get the price wrong. I will never go back to this place for my breakfast again they lost my business.

The food is great, the wait staff is decent in a bit understaffed. However the owner is rude and insulting. We are an easy to get along with group, and now we are not sure we will return.

We came on a Sunday afternoon before heading to Nashville. When I walked in I immediately felt like I walked into another place called Hotcakes Imporium. Maybe they’re owned by the same people? Anyway…enough on that. We were seated immediately but waited several minutes for our server to center by the table and take our drink order. We told her that we needed a few before ordering our food once she returned with our drinks. I decided to to with the western omelette(omlay haha). After a few minutes of waiting she finally came back and took our order for breakfast. Looking around the décor is anything but special. There are some murals on the walls, but overall the dining room is lacking. It’s all open with booths around the perimeter and tables in the center. The place is overall clean including the bathroom. When the food arrive, it didn’t look to be anything special. A typical omelette, undercooked hash browns, and butter-less toast. The omelette was pretty bland, and lacked that«fluffy» factor that other places have. The hash browns were probably the biggest letdown of all. They were burnt on the top, and flavorless and undercooked below. Total letdown! I should have sent them back, but I did not. Instead I suffered through them. I hate when you order toast and they come out with no butter on them. Who the hell orders that way? NOONE! Luckily they had butter on the table, but it wasn’t all melted like I prefer on my toast. Overall I feel that the kitchen had just given up that day, or maybe just for the rest of the day as we arrived 2 hours prior to closing. The overall wasn’t anything to praise either. The girl that sat us, and the girl that took my money seemed anything but happy to be there. No smile, no warmth, just very robotic and mundane. Our server, well she just didn’t seem to be on her A game. Long periods of time went by without seeing her. She was better than the other two girls I had the joys of interacting with. But she wasn’t a shining star either. In fact most of the girls there seemed too busy standing around staring off into space than taking care of their tables. In the end, I was not impressed. This of course made me sad as I had heard nothing but great things about Flap Jacks, and was excited to give them a try. Maybe they were just having an off day or perhaps they just don’t care on Sundays. Either way, I don’t see myself returning anytime soon.

When we arrived hostess was polite and waitress was sweet. But that’s about all the nice thing I can say. Food was terrible! My 8 year old said her bacon tasted funny? I tried it and it had a paperboard taste to it. Restaurant felt dirty. Ask for french fries for my son instead of hash and it couldn’t be replaced?! Seriously?! We came about lunch time and he got one of the kids meal.

I think you’re a few times and have always had a good breakfast and despite the fact that every time I’ve been there they’ve been packed, our service has always been excellent. I will definitely return.

Just not impressed. The food was decent, but wait staff wasn’t very attentive and we seemed to be a bother even though it wasn’t a busy day at all. The place itself seemed to be pretty run down — I’m not a small guy an wasn’t completely convinced our booth was going to hold up and the menus were barely held together at the binding. I may be back for another go around(maybe it was a bad day) but I won’t be going out of my way to do so.

Worth a meal if you’re a carnivore, but Vegheads beware, they don’t understand you at this mostly typical breakfast place. I personally am a meat eater, but when my vegetarian niece ordered plain biscuits and a veggie omelet, she got biscuits covered in sausage gravy, which was at least obvious, and an omelet with chicken in it. Have you ever been around a vegetarian that accidentally ate meat? It did not make for a pleasant breakfast, and I can’t blame her for being upset. Had it been an allergy there could have been a real problem. That said, the food I got was tasty and despite being crowded we were sat quickly and served quickly(if inefficiently). Worth a meal if you’re a carnivore. The Mediterranean breakfast wrap was quite tasty.

So happy we found a place that had great staple breakfast choices. Wait time on a Sunday at 10 an was 10 minutes. Everyone was very quick and trying to move things along. They were apologetic when they were a bit late and the hostess got us our coffee. Meals were huge. We should of shared! One meals was Corned beef hash skillet with side of pecan turtle pancake. The other was veggie omelet with grits and buttermilk pancakes. Great and large portions. We ended taking most home. Only thing negative was lack of non pork meat options. Wish they had turkey sausage or bacon. Def. coming back!

I love breakfast. It may be my favorite meal. And the food here makes me happy. The portions are enormous. I don’t think I’ve ever finished a meal here. Last time I had the Greek omelet and I may never pick another thing off the menu I loved it so much. Greek olives, onion, feta… just thinking about it makes me hungry. I’ve had the skillets too and they are really good as well. It’s a bit of an experience dining here. It’s easy to tell what the political leanings of the owners are.(They have«Freedom fries» on the menu. Enough said.) But I’ll deal with that as long as they keep that omelet on the menu.

We went on Mothers day and there was a short and reasonable wait. The food and service was excellent. I can’t wait to go back again.

We used to eat at the location off Madison Avenue, but since this one opened across from our house, it’s easily accessible and a family favorite. Service is always hit or miss. I never get enough coffee and usually the server comes to the table to greet, take your order, and usually doesn’t return until the food is ready. Could use some work. However, the food is always hot and quick. My order is occasionally right and I’ve had many times where I have to return it for a re-make, but it’s never for quality of the food. It’s Greek owned, so you can judge the establishment for yourself!

Took my son there on a weekday. Felt like I was on one of those shows where a celebrity chef comes in and«fixes» the place. The food was very obviously not made from fresh ingredients. The OJ was so watered down and my pancakes tasted like a box mix I could have bought at the grocery store. Probably one of the worst restaurant breakfasts I have had.

The staff was friendly, but inaccurate. They don’t offer whole wheat pancakes on the weekends. The skillet was made with canned vegetables. Not fresh, but if you’re looking for standard breakfast food, this place is good enough. Honestly I could have made just as good of food at home.

The food is always great here. The best pancakes I have ever had. I am glad they put a place closer to where I live. I use to go to the Madison St. Indianapolis location. Now it is only 15 minutes from my home. Sometimes there are long waits and that is just because MOST people know how good the food is. I can get a huge omlette, 2 pancakes(more than enough), grits, pop and coffee for less than $ 10. There is much to take home. The wait is the only thing that stinks, they did not design well for people waiting. You feel like you are standing right over people eating. The Indpls. location is like that also. And when people are waiting over you it is a bit awkward. But it is worth the slight inconvience. If you haven’t been please try it. Servers have always been fine. Never had an issue. Being polite pays off.

My wife and I decided to eat breakfast here since it was the new place in the area. When we pulled up, there were people waiting outside for their names to be called, so we thought that this must be a great place to eat. First off… the wait wasn’t that bad, we only had to wait 10 to 15 minutes to get a table. As soon as we sat down our waitress asked us what we would like to drink and brought it out to us. After about a couple of minutes she came back and asked us what we would like to order. I ordered french toast and eggs, and my wife ordered eggs, toast, and hash browns. So, we waited and waited and waited for about 25 to 30 minutes. We even noticed the couple that was in the waiting room(at the same time we were waiting) was seated 5 or more minutes after us, received their food before us. Finally, I thought the waitress was bringing out my order but she took it to the table next to us. They said it didn’t belong to them, so without even asking us, she went back up to the serving window and held onto my order with a puzzled look on her face for another 5 minutes. Then I saw her get the ticket from the cooks to see what order went with what table. After she figured it out, she finally brought my order back out after my wife’s order was done. Her food was warm but mine was cold. To top it all off, our waitress didn’t even come back to our table, to ask us if everything was alright or if we needed any refills, until we were already finished with our meal! By the way, the food is just mediocre… definitely not worth the very long wait!!! So, if you’re hungry for breakfast and you drive by this place… just keep driving, you’re not gonna miss a thing!!!
