Jay’s Tailoring

Had to have a few suits tailored for my son’s graduation photos, etc. Very courteous when we came in and the work was quick, well done and reasonably priced. I’ve been here several times for various things and have never been disappointed.

GET AN EXACT PRICE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE SHOP. Had a formal dress altered; top of dress covered in a beaded appliqué (not hand-​beaded, an appliqué that can be easily cut). After doing the fitting and marking, I asked the woman how much. She said she wasn’t sure because of the beading. Based on past experience with other tailors in the Barrington area and on what we were having done to the dress (small area hemmed, dress taken up at shoulders) I assumed $ 50. When I arrived to pick up the dress today the total was $ 75! When I expressed that I thought that was a bit high for the work done, the woman again said it was because of the beading but she would make it $ 70.
We chose Jay’s because our normal tailor, Barrington Tailor Shop, wasn’t open on the only night my high schooler could go get fitted. I highly recommend Barrington Tailors; fair, give price up front, and have never had an issue. I completely regret making this choice and will be sure to share my experience with other mothers who will be needing dresses altered over the next few years.

Lost a good amount of weight so I needed some suits and shirts tailored. They were fast, efficient and the work was superb! So happy!

These people are so sweet and helpful. And they do a great and timely job. They will get your items altered by whatever deadline need; just tell them.
