Nice, clean and comfortable waiting area with public rest rooms and café. Decent day rate auto parking available. Overnight parking by permit only. I only saw one bike rack some distance away from the station. PACE bus pick up/drop off is at the rear of the station. Dedicated handicap drop off area. Station is fully handicap accessible. ATM is located in a somewhat private alcove area away from the main waiting area. In the main waiting area, there is an automated pick up/drop off area for the Barrington area public library. Great for picking up a movie for the evening or a book to read on the morning commute.

This easy to get to location has ample parking for vehicles and a small area inside for waiting when cold. The ticket window is open during business hours. There is no automated ticket machine so be prepared to pay cash on the train. There are clean restrooms inside, and a water fountain. There is no vending, so be prepared with your own food and drink. There is a liquor store on the way into the parking lot in case you’re on your way to the Cubs game… The messages when a train was approaching were loud and clear. Nothing special, but this is an adequate station.

Pros: Clean all over, including bathrooms; coffee counter, benches, ATM, book drop Cons: coffee counter is rarely open, most benches are indoors, ATM carries exorbitant service charges, who the hell uses the book drop? Ticket agents are often rude and/or incompetent. Not my flavorite station on the UP-NW.
