Stopped here on a whim after some shopping. Bartender was great and attentive. It’s small in there and the bar was full Saturday afternoon. The crowd was half younger side(maybe less) and the rest were old timers, probably a few alcoholics too lol. Anyway, the vibe was chill and they had plenty of games on for March madness. We ordered wings, crab fries and macaroni and cheese balls. The wings were awesome! They were boneless but cookers crispy and the sauce was honey chipotle bbq. I wanted to order more. Do not get the Mac and cheese balls, just don’t. It was like spoons of velveeta shells with some Panko and needed to bake for literally almost an hour. Sad face. Crab fries were decent I would order again. Overall I would go back for a drink in snack, but the food took forever so need to keep that in mind.

This is a great neighborhood bar with a quiet atmosphere during the week and a lively crowd on weekends. I had the joy of spending a snow day with my brother and had your typical amazing corner bar service. I had an old school bartender who let us pick the channel on the TV and we enjoyed the 2.00 Budweiser special for Monday. There is a special every day here and the atmosphere is great. Even better is their menu is a great kept secret of awesome bar food with their wings, cheesesteaks, and pizza all highly recommended. If your in Barrington this is where you go!

Nice place to stop in for a drink, something to eat and friendly conversation without breaking the bank. Nice small town bar feel.

I like Barrington and tried this place recently for a Saturday late lunch. Great décor and atmosphere. Good beer and burger too. The only reason I took off two stars is I asked for my Smoke House burger without cheese but apparently no one was listening. It was only something like American cheese that I couldn’t smell or taste so I didn’t send it back but it’s the principle of the thing.

My favorite dive bar! Great bartenders that work there. Atmosphere is great. Would recommend going here.

For a small local bar, the food is really good. It doesn’t have just your typical bar food, there is quite a good variety. Crowd is laid back and the bartenders know many customers and are quick to get your drink without even needing to be asked. It’s like Cheers in Barrington.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I don’t live in town, which is probably a good thing because I’d be there everyday. Food is always good, drinks too. Reasonable prices all around. Love the uniqueness of the place. Always great specials on the menu as well. Highly recommended.

Not just for locals, but chances are you will need to waiting until they leave for a seat at the bar. This is the spot to invite friends to down some Miller High Life’s and eat some decent grab… staff is superb and atmosphere is quite pleasing. TV are though out for Eagles, Flyer, Sixers and Phillies games. Check it out… I love this place.

Came in around 12:30pm on a Saturday for lunch, beer, and football. The elderly bartender was immediately attentive and poured our beers and switched a TV to show the Baylor/WVU game. I had a good pumpkin beer on tap. We waited to order food not realising we had to order from a different server. I got the buffalo chicken mac n cheese and it was so good! Big fan of it. We stayed for 3 rounds and enjoyed ourselves here. It’s more of a neighborhood bar than dive bar. We felt very comfortable here and all the bartenders were friendly. Under the bar where I sat, there was an outlet with USB port. I thought that was pretty cool. People can charge their phones etc right at the bar. Overall, this was a solid place with good food, attentive and friendly bartenders, and inexpensive beers. I’d definitely go back!

I live locally in Barrington and while I don’t often eat at the bar itself I do frequently order food from there. I must say that everything I have ever had from there has exceeded my expectations. Their pizza is FANTASTIC, and this is coming from a guy who grew up on the jersey shore and was surrounded with the best pizza. Thursdays a large is like 8.50. That’s a steal!!! Their wings are also really good. They recently added some new flavors so i’ll have to give them a whirl. My favorite thing on their menu is the Double Porker Sandwich. It’s a homemade spicy BBQ pulled pork topped with bacon(I opt no cheese on mine). If you like pulled pork give this sandwich.

We have just moved to Somerdale NJ and were looking for some cool places to eat and drink. I found this place on Unilocal and I am glad I did. When we arrived I’ll be honest I was thinking about walking past the front door because it looked a bit shady on the outside but when we walked in it was awesome. Never judge a book by its cover I guess. But the food was amazing get the crab bites! The crowd was very friendly and so were the bartenders. We will be going back often:)

This is my experience. Sunday 2⁄23 at 7:40 pm I decided to stop in and have a beer and dinner. I placed my drink order and asked for a menu. The waitress took my order and placed a placemat in front of me. Twenty minutes goes by and I can see the kitchen staff not cooking. I reach for my wallet and the bartender comes over to me and says,“sorry.” I said, «sorry for what?». He wouldn’t answer me. So I took the hint and asked him,“when were they going to tell me the kitchen was closed?” I stormed out of there and will never go back. Why even take my order if you have no desire to serve me? I was disrespected by their incompetence and laziness. If I had known the kitchen was closed, I would have went somewhere else, no big deal. Thumbs down to this place!

I’ll keep it short and sweet: Decent food, terrible service. I hate being ignored by the wait staff and bartenders! Meal was good when it finally arrived.

Old Rail has a small town local bar feel to it. If you like that then this is a place for you. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service is quick and friendly. Lots of TVs make it a great place to watch a game. Plenty of beers on special. I highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the Barrington area.

I was surprised, I heard so many great things about the pizza here, but I left disappointed. I would compare the pizza with Mac and Manco’s(or whatever they are calling themselves now), though not as good. Now, Mac and Manco’s isn’t really the style of pizza that I am big on anyway, so take it how you will. The place is a nice enough bar, I really dig the astetics. Service is friendly, but slow. Small working class town bar. I think it is cash only, which didn’t really both me because this was the one day that I happened to have cash on me. Prices weren’t too bad. The two stars are mostly for the pizza, nothing really wrong with the bar.

I got a panzoratti and a few smithwicks, cool place. Loved the small town bar feel. Living in Barrington would make that place a little too convenient for my liver. The open kitchen leaves you smelling like garlic and grease. With a buddy of mine we got: 3 smithwicks 1 rocker bock 1 panzoratti 1 whole pizza For less than $ 30.

The Old Rail isn’t quite a dive, but it’s not far off. And I don’t mean“dive” to imply anything negative. I love a good dive, and the Old Rail may be my favorite. For starters, it’s got a great crowd. This is a working class bar. Don’t expect it to be flooded by a bunch of suits fresh from the office for happy hour. Best of all, there’s the kitchen in the back. Is the food anything to write home about? Nope! But on a good night, the entire bar smells like garlic. What a great combination – liquor and garlic! Why haven’t more bars caught on to this?

Riding in the car with my two guy friends, I heard one ask the other if he wanted to go to The Rail. I sarcastically asked who the lucky lady was, and when my friends stopped laughing hysterically, they informed me that The Rail is a bar in nearby Barrington. A few minutes later, we arrived at a pretty interesting place that I never knew existed. The two middle aged bartenders were dressed in classy bartender uniforms– definitely something you don’t see every day at your run of the mill South Jersey bar. I was instantly charmed. The walls were covered in local memorabilia and a pool table was wedged into the only available space on the floor. The upstairs loft that overlooked the bar area had some tables. This would be a really fun place to grab some friends on a Saturday afternoon and just hang out, watch sports and play pool.
