Food was good and the service was great. The only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5 is because our bill was added up wrong and the server didn’t understand us when we questioned the math and it wasn’t worth causing a scene. Overall it was a good experience and we will come back again when in Barstow.

If you don’t have blonde hair and blue eyes don’t stop here. Service was bad, very slow. Good food, but sat for a quick stop to eat and food was about 1hr wait.

This place use to be a great… My last few visits here have been bad to say the least… Waitress was not friendly and when asked for more chips she literally came back and threw them on the table… Food quality is not fresh anymore, doesn’t taste right. I seriously don’t know what happened to this place, this use to be our go to restaurant on our way to and from Laughlin, NV… Don’t waste your time, hopefully they can fix their issues and someday become the warm and friendly authentic Mexican restaurant that they use to be…

Draft beer arrived in a warm mug so cold beer is now tepid. The waitress was swatting flies on tables and seats along the windows and not sanitizing afterwards. And when we thought that was the end of it, my daughter finds a fly in her iced tea and to add to that, we had to go back and forth with the waitress who insisted that the fly just fell in the glass, come on, it was among the ice not on top! Need I say more?!

On our way back from Las Vegas towards San Diego, we stumbled upon this because we needed gas and we were hungry. Place is right off the I-15 freeway. The owners serve themselves in a restaurant and have pictures of her young son hunting on the walls. The place is filled with taxidermy and very interesting. They offer variation of food, which is reasonably priced. They offer a $ 10.95 all you can eat deal as well, but we opted for something else. Service was fast and pleasant.

Food was amazing and the service was quick… prices are great and you totally get your money’s worth… food has an authentic taste!!! I completely enjoyed my meal. I ordered the 4 taquito lunch combo. Still a large plate with rice and beans. The décor is beautiful. The location is easy to get to. Right off the freeway. Overall, a great experience.

Service can make or break a place and the 2 servers working here on 4÷2÷16 were very rude! When someone asks questions on the menu the server should be able to respond politely not annoyed. Jimenez and a lady with blonde hair should look for another profession …

This has to be the worst restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good old fashioned dive diner that burns my eggs and serves greasy food, but this place was a house of horrors starting with the plethora of dead/stuffed deer, bears, etc. Then there was the service… what service? The waitresses was bullshitting in the back most of our visit not even doing their jobs. We waited and waited and waited for everything! Now the food, if you want to call it that, was shit on a plate… a bad joke at best! The salsa tasted like vomit and the chip were two-days-ago stale. Yuck! The rice and beans that came with the entrees tasted old as well. The entrees never got eaten… that bad. On a positive note for those with a morbid fascination for the genitalia of dead animals, all the dead animals around the restaurant have big old ball sacks hanging down for your and your children’s viewing pleasure. And all the lights above the tables are antler death crowns! Yeah! Amazing place! I recommend people stop in just to see it for them selves, and have some chips and salsa too!

The dead animals are really odd and makes this restaurant seem like a red neck owns it. The restaurant is very spacious and can accommodate a pretty large group. There’s never a wait and we are able to order fairly quickly. The chips and salsa are really good! And they’re awesome about giving you more chips if you ask. They have a $ 10 all you can eat menu which I think is pretty worth it, since just 1 plate is $ 10+. The bf ordered that the first time we came and shared with me, and the staff didn’t say anything. Food itself is just okay. I’m not a fan of Mexican food to begin with, so it’s whatever to me. The horchata is HUGE. Easily shareable between two people. I felt like it was much sweeter and creamier than horchatas I’ve had in the past, so I couldn’t drink that much at a time. The chimichanga was a decent size and filled ONLY with meat so it was worth it, but didn’t have sauce on top of it. They’re good about splitting the check individually if you have a large group, and they don’t impose an 18% tip like a lot of other places. Overall, this place is okay if you’re craving Mexican food in the area. It’s also conveniently located right next to the I-5 freeway.

Casa Jimenez is the most authentic Mexican restaurant that I have found in the High Desert this far. I knew that I would love this place just from the chips and salsa. It’s super fresh and tasty every time! I like to try something new each time I visit. Some of the items that I love are the machaca, enchiladas, carne asada tacos, chilaquiles, chile rellenos, and the breakfast burritos. I am also a fan of their michelada and margaritas! Jimenez always seems to have a special when we visit, but even the regular prices are great! Food and service are always excellent! I typically cook Mexican food at home on Fort Irwin, but Jimenez will continue to be our go to spot off of the island!

I commute from Las Vegas to Orange County 2 – 3 times per month and I stop here almost every time. It is conveniently right off of the 15 and the the food is great. Best steak fajitas ever. Their beef has amazing flavor and the chili verde is chunky tender and with the right amount of heat. Some times the service is a little slow but remember 2 things 1. I have only seen 2 – 3 different people working at anytime it seems family owned and the lady who serves cleans up and takes your order probably is also in the back cooking. She is amazing!!! 2. It’s worth the wait. Also love the taxidermy

Skip the Carna Asada — at least a quarter of it was grissle /cartridge. With that said everything else was delish. Horchata was fantastic– according to Phil«best Iv ever had.» The relleno was nicely deep fried with a fantastic sauce. The beans and rice where great and the chips and both salsas were beyond reproach. Of course the view is pretty spectacular as well, the most wide collection of taxidermy I’ve ever seen.

Awful service. We had to flag a server down. After taking our order we never saw him except for when we got our food. It took longer than what it should to order, get your food, and get the check. Food was OK. I’ve had better tortas. The food wasn’t anything worth pulling over for, the restaurant is just in a really convenient spot for business. Trust me there are better Mexican restaurants in SoCal. Prices are fair. The décor is weird. I guess if you love Cabelas you’ll love this place.

Stopped here on our way home(LA) from Utah. It is a treat for the senses. Taxidermy heaven… if that is what you consider heaven. Good service… lots of TV’s for catching the soccer match and decent food. Prices are VERY reasonable and the menu is like the Cheesecake Factory… they have EVERYTHING and it’s all pretty decent despite being to expansive. If you’re in the neighborhood and its feeding time(and you don’t mind being surrounded by dead stuffed animals) this is a decent option.

As a vegetarian, I have no logical explanation of why I love this place so much. But it’s awesome. So awesome. The food is pretty good, but it’s the ambiance that makes everything so special. I try to stop every time I’m passing through, even if I’m not hungry. Give it a shot and make some new(dead) critter friends.

These are one of those rare, novel places that you stumble across and are never the same afterward. We were looking for somewhere to grab dinner on our way back to L.A. from Vegas. We skipped the typical In-n-Out and fast food joints and on a whim pulled up here. Upon entering and observing the décor, I totally took it upon a myself to judge the place; redneck hunter folk serving up Mexican food? Good gracious, I hope I can get a decent quesadilla… For those who’ve been here, it’s a family run business and the family is presumably really into hunting and taxidermy; the entire restaurant is dedicated to this passion. The place wasn’t busy when we arrived but soon more people started rolling in and the servers were hustling. The food took slightly longer than what I’d like to arrive but made up for in taste and authenticity. I ordered a chicken torta(which was pretty much grilled chicken in a bun but it was some darn good chicken. We also opted for some steak and chicken tacos which were really good. They’re prices are reasonable and the place was clean and well kept. If you can get past the stuffed animal heads staring back at you, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised with how good the food is. A little whimsical gem, it definitely is.
