Very nice food stop for the I15 journey between Las Vegas and SoCal. Food was good and nice smaller portion size perfect for the sitting in a car crowd. The shakes and root beer float were great. This will be our go-to stop from now on. Though a few blocks off the freeway, much faster and infinitely more pleasant than the Lenwood road mess by the outlet mall.

Good clean place to stop, taking the L street exit to main street, go right a few blocks and you’re there. Easy to get back on freeway. A 5-star ice cream place w/fast friendly service. Fish tacos were Ok.

Very clean. Staff very nice staff it was wasn’t very busy for its location. I got the two deep-fried burritos with french fries and a sprite the food was very high you’re missing out if you don’t try their deep-fried burritos the two for a dollar.

Oh Foster’s Freeze. You were one of my fav childhood fast food joints. They used to serve nachos and cheese, which I loved. They stopped serving that years ago, of course. But I couldn’t pass up the chance to eat here again because of nostalgia. The burgers are thin and not much to write home about. But I like their«special sauce». They also now have Foster’s fries, which are their version of In-n-Out’s animal fries — cheese, special sauce, and fried onions, but over crinkle cut fries. Those were pretty tasty. And for less than $ 2 you get a huge portion. The soda fountain is behind the counter here, but you can get free refills if you ask. For dessert, we opted for a twist cone(tasted like everywhere else) and a nerds twister(like a DQ blizzard). It was surprisingly tasty. The jr twister size was more than enough to eat. I couldn’t even finish it. The staff were friendly and nice. The place was clean enough. All in all, an a-ok visit and experience.

When I think of places like Foster’s, it conjures up images of the Route 66 in its prime — red neon, bouncy rock songs that horrified conservative radio hosts, and food served by wait staff whose minimum wage actually covered rent and groceries. It’s either a sign of the times or just bad luck that this Foster’s is as awful as it is. I ordered a burrito(which is technically a chimichanga, since it’s fried) and onion rings, and my mother ordered zucchini sticks and taquitos. The woman at the drive-through speaker was nothing short of frigid… but then, she has no accountability, since their drive-through never brings you face-to-face with the person who takes your order, so why bother being friendly to the people whose patronage keeps you employed? The food did nothing to soothe my already rankled frustrations. The burrito was a sad, tiny affair that tasted suspiciously like the El Monterey beef and bean monstrosities I survived off of during my late high school and early college years. The taquitos, according to my mother, were nice… except for the liquid guacamole they’re soaked in. Both our fried sides were unrecognizable mush in the middle — mush cooked in fryer oil that’s probably a day or two too old to keep using, judging by the taste. Adding insult to injury, the single ranch cup they gave us was so small, it might as well have been Andre the Giant’s thimble. I am now using it to store seed beads, which is the only redeeming quality of the entire order.

So nice to find a real Foster’s around… most have been long gone or have been pushed into the corners of other fast food chains. We were on our way through town and wanted a treat. Did the drive though and WOW what a crazy little contraption for getting your change and cones to you. Great ice cream and an extra added entertainment from the«foodvator» Just remeber«cash only» if you use the drive thru!

To eat I had a good and yummy hot dog and the fries too. Pretty small inside but they do have outdoor seating.

Loved this! Reminds me of the old I’ve cream place I used to visit as a kid. We ordered malts and a twister, their version of a blizzard. I was excited they had hot fudge malts on their menu. Most places look at me crazy when I try to custom order. We used this place to take a rest during our traveling. Bathrooms not bad.

Better than Sonic. Has Nathans all beef hot dogs. The corn dogs are delicious even though they are turkey. Fried zucchini, mushrooms and green beans with ranch are yum! Boss cheeseburger has onion rings on it … way yum. Love their root beer freeze(like a root bear float but blended). My fav. is the marshmallow sundae. Half n half chocolate/vanilla dipped in chocolate cone also a yum! Fried chicken salad is also yummy for ice berg lettuce. They have text club that texts deal through out the week, like 1 $ cone Wednesdays etc. 1−2−3 Fosters Freeze! Drive thru takes CASHONLY ! Because it is a unique elevator lifty thingy.

Food and ice cream are great!!! Always delicious. Fair warning: the drive-thru is more like a park-thru. Most of the times I’ve used it, I’ve had to turn off my car and park. But the food and ice cream are worth it! Plus, it’s better take a seat inside anyway. Love the banana splits, root beer floats and burgers!

The ice cream here is amazing, but limited. They have chocolate, vanilla, or swirl. That’s all. There are various sauces and toppings, but for those who like ice cream(not sundaes) there isn’t much variety. The employees here are slow. There is no rush to get you on your way. The facility itself is clean, but quite run down.

On the way to Vegas? The PERFECT spot to drop in and fill that soft-serve craving before blowing your money gambling. This place reminds me of memories as a child — back when it was okay to eat corn dogs and hamburgers and ice cream all day. A little oasis in the middle of a long stretch of road. I’m a fan.

Soft serve ice cream, ohhhh, and the mixes and root beer floats and milk shakes. They got this funky drive-thru delivery system because the kitchen and the drive thru side are on opposite sides. But since you shouldn’t be driving around eating soft-serve get out of the car and go inside.

Not all ice cream is created equal. Forster’s Old Fashioned Freeze has some of the best soft serve ice cream I have ever had. Normally I like ‘fancy’ ice cream… be it a fancy flavor or a fancy dessert. So rarely do I get something as plain jane as a dipped cone… But my husband convinced me, and wow. I am so glad I listened to him. The ice cream was richer then I expected, and the cone was fresh and yummy. No staleness here. We didn’t actually start with dessert, as tempting as it was… The grilled chicken sandwich I had first was surprisingly, well seasoned and on a wheat bun! If you are in the Barstow area and your sweet tooth stars to flare up, go the simple route and try a dipped cone from Foster’s Old Fashioned Freeze. Plain jane never tasted so good.

Root beer freezes! The drive through is super old fashioned. The person who reviewed previously must have gone there when it was broken. You still order at a menu speaker, but when you pull up to the«window» all there is, is a window. The food/money box you put your money on, closes then moves up and over the top of the store, then down into the cashier’s/kitchen area. They put your food and drinks on there, plus any change. So you don’t actually get to see or speak face-to-face with a real person. It’s pretty funny. Drive through is still convenient, even if it’s old fashioned.
