Outside looks like a grocery store. Inside is full of deliciousness. Worth climbing off the beaten path. The best thing about being stuck in Barstow with mechanical issues! I highly recommend!

Three stars is A-​OK but yeah, ok.
The tortilla on the burrito was dry. Might have been homemade, not sure, but it wasn’t nice to eat.
I asked if I could change burrito ingredients and was told yes. haha the joke was on me because while they let me say what I wanted, that is all that happened.
It was the smallest burrito from the burrito section of the menu of a mexican restaurant that I have experienced.
Maybe they made it small because they saw me but they shouldn’t because this was my test burrito for an order I was making later that day for dinner for hungry men. Needless to say, I didn’t order more.
Next time I’m in town I’ll try a different burrito place since I see tons on here.

Came here for lunch the other day. Very nice lady took my order right away and the ladies in the back got right to work on my order. Even though there were 3 people ahead of me I got my food very quickly. Got home and everything was made just as I ordered, hot and very delicious! I ordered the carne asada fries and there was so much in my plate I couldn’t finish (which is not like me at all lol). Haven’t been to Plata’s in a while so I’m glad we decided to cone here for lunch. Recommend 100% to friends and family or anybody traveling through town! Will definitely be back!

I have been coming here for years and it is great food. Their service is fast, but the building is old, and needs remodeling. I always get my food to go, because the inside of the restaurant is over 30 years old. But any event Plata’s is the best in town.

My wife loved her carne asada taco’s and gave them a 4, I didn’t enjoy my chicken tacos so much so I gave them a 2. So we’re averaging out to a nice 3.

Best restaurant for burritos in Barstow. If you like spicy, you can request hot, if not then mild or even medium. Also tacos are good, my favorite is the Santa Fe tacos, they are spicy & delicious. I have been here many times when I am in town & am never disappointed. Small place with limited seating, so I usually do take out, but so good!

I ordered the menudo and pasoles and it was great! The price was very inexpensive and reasonably priced. I ordered their chips and you can tell it was made in house. They were so delicious that I would buy them for chips and salsa. I loved that they served me half a lemon with my meal. This hole in the wall got very busy during lunchtime. The food and staff was overall great!

If you find yourself going through Barstow, fuel up your vehicle then fuel up yourself at Plata’s. It’s good, reasonably priced and quick. There are a few tables inside too. It’s a great mexican fix!
They’re open for breakfast too.
The tacos are traditional with real ingredients, no prepackaged crap…

A little hole in the wall very few outside of Barstow know about. Any of the burritos with potatoes in it them are awesome and fresh home made chips top it off. Definitely the best burrito of the desert!!! A must try if your in the area. :)
