Best authentic Mexican around! Service is great as well! If you don’t see something on the menu that you want you can ask for it and they will fix it for you.

My favorite local restaurant. Love everything I’ve had there and go at least once a week. All of there shrimp entrees are great! And the margaritas are the best!

A little out of the way place that you could drive by and never see, and it would be your loss! Food was excellent. Chicken nacho’s were loaded with chicken, beans, pepper, onion and mushrooms topped with a generous portion of cheese. The guacamole was full of chunks of fresh avocado. Got there early-5ish– and it was a good thing as the locals know about the good food.

Great food at an amazing value. A little ambience and it would be a 5. I would like this to be a review so here are some more words.

Need to update the schedule. They now close at 9 o’clock even on Saturdays. In fairness i didn’t want to add any stars because I didn’t even get a chance to sample any of the food, nor do I want to under rate it. I’ll try again next time. Ok, it won’t let me post the comment until I give it a star or two. I gave it a 3 to split it.

Stopped in during lunch this week. My food wasn’t good at all. I had the Red Chilaquiles. I ask for it to be cooked with eggs and they scrambled a side of eggs and threw it on the plate. Most places will put the eggs on the tortillas while cooking then add the sauce afterwards. Don’t guess they knew what I was talking about. It came with a side of rice and beans. The beans were terrible. I took 1 bite. The rice was ok, good enough to eat at least. The eggs and the sauce had a funny taste to them, as well as the sauce. It was very plain dish with no reason to ever order it again, and for the price, I was expecting some good. Way to expensive for lunch. Also the atmosphere is very weird, nothing that say mexican food, felt more like a coffee house.

Delicious. This is not your typical Mexican chain place. You can’t order the #3 and it is the same as the #3 everywhere else. Mexican with costal influence. Friendly staff. The food is so fresh. Well priced. The quesadilla is huge with rice and whole beans and will only run you about $ 9. They also have beer now.

This place was pleasantly surprising. I wasn’t expecting much, but the food was above your average Mexican food. There were a few things that were hit and miss(the fried tortilla chips and the entrees were great, but the accompanying salsa was bland and the flan was very disappointing, not something I would get again), but overall for the price this is a great pick for cheap Mexican food when you’re tired of the sub-par places that are everywhere. The service was fine, but we were one of the only tables in the restaurant(we went after lunch) so not sure what it would be like when it is busier. Regardless, I look forward to going back.

I overlooked this place many times. Boy, do I regret it! It was delicious. The staff was very friendly, patient and welcoming. The menu is great and filled with authentic Mexican dishes that are sure to please the most critical folks of local Mexican eateries. I had a taco salad because I saw them making the shells right in front of me and I had to get one. Everything from the chips, salsa, tacos, guacamole to the salad was perfect. I cannot wait to go back!

Such an unassuming little place. This used to be a CK’s and thank goodness they got the heck out! This is pretty small and not that comfy of a place to dine in. The food is worth the hard booths. The chips are some of the best I have ever had. The beans were actually really yummy. I’m used to the fully smooth refried beans but these were just really soft whole beans. I had the chicken chimichanga and boy was it an indulgent treat! This thing was stuffed with chunks of grilled chicken(not shredded) and the tortilla(though covered in super yummy cheese dip) was still crispy. All the menu items were very affordable and I love that they don’t have a ten page selection. They do, however, have breakfast!

Ate here yesterday and loved it. The restaurant is much different than what you would normally expect so you must be prepared to try something new. It used to be ck’s and the cooking area is visible to the patrons. That means no hidden secrets in the kitchen. The health score is 96. The return grills were right above me and were clean. I ordered shrimp chimichangas and there was plenty of shrimp. It was delicious. It is hard to stop eating their chips. The chips and taco shells are very different and very good.

OMG. I am obsessed with this place. Their chips are hands down the best I’ve ever had. Their salsa is good. Their guac is the best of had in the Memphis area. Their vegetarian fajitas are amazing, but their taco salad(customized to be vegan) was so good it made me want to cry. I will definitely add this to the list of places I frequent. I just wish that they had margaritas :(If they did, I would come even more.

Very good! This restaurant uses very good ingredients(fresh veggies, red/yellow peppers etc) and because of that their product is naturally great. Everyone is really friendly, service is fast and efficient. I always modify a lot of things(no cheese, extra lettuce etc) and the waitress who was handling all of the tables ordered it right without even writing anything down. My husband and I both had chicken in our entrees and the flavor is amazing! Sadly we live downtown and were only out in the area to look at cars but this place is definitely somewhere we’d make a special trip out to the burbs for. I also would love to try their breakfast, it looked wonderful especially compared to the more expensive places that service chorizo burritos for brunch for twice the price. 2 entrees and 2 beers = $ 29 We took a star away since we like a more pico di Gallo salsa versus watery– the watery salsa had great taste though!

This little hole in the wall, If your looking for fresh home made really good Mexican food but dont mind a little dive atmosphere Everything was made to order, veggies, meats were all fresh, the Guac was big chunks of avocado like they give you in mexico, the beans were real beans not that canned mushy junk you get at the chains that you question if its even food sometimes. The fajitas burrito was really nice in size w yellow and orange peppers, not flimsy cheap green ones, the chicken and beef were big chunks of fresh meat the natcho chips on your table were home made too, not bagged crap but real home made fresh cut chips WOW so nice. The fried cheese cake dessert is very good… The staff was a few but friendly and the owner is right there working the grill like it should be. I have found my new fav mexican joint. They dont serve beer/liquor so, no way I could give more than 4 stars

«Mexican diner» was the perfect description from another Unilocaler. I never would have thought driving by to try this place but the great reviews on Unilocal brought me in. I will be a returning customer. I had not had a really good chorizo taco in a while(until here) and the steak tacos were pretty great too. The chips and salsa?! So so awesome. The cook made the chips fresh to order. Such a friendly, welcoming, and attentive staff. The only thing that could make this place better IMO would be putting Horchata on the menu.

Okay, went back two days later, on a Sunday afternoon and needed to update my review a bit. The guacamole was still great, but the homemade chips were a bit overcooked this day. The biggest change was that my chimichanga was deep fried versus my previous visit where it appeared to be only grilled. Not sure if it was operational or lost in ordering, but it really wasn’t as good fried crispy as it was seemingly only grilled. Everything was still seasoned well and the beans were still great. Realized that I could order Mexican Coke(in bottles), instead of fountain Coke, which is always great because it is made with sugar and not corn syrup. If you don’t do this, you should — much better taste! Because of the update, I’m changing to 4 stars instead of 5. This also accounts for an average service level. Though the owner still makes a point to welcome and thank guests!

A new menu means an updated review. What can I say about this place other than I love it. I’ve eaten here around 50 times since they opened just a little over a year ago. I’ve never gotten a bad meal here and am always treated great. The food just keeps getting better and better and I think that they have the best salsa and chips in town. I crave them! The tacos are incredible and the guacamole is off the charts. The burritos are so bigg they get two g’s and they are delicious. The menu is new however there were only a few additions that weren’t there before. Even if it’s not on the menu they’ll make it for you. They bend over backwards for their customers and are always there to please. It’s small and simple but it’s the best food in town and I am so glad they have made it through that critical first year. Here’s to many more years of great food and service!

Wow, this place is really great! Went for lunch and it was a great experience. In and out in 30 minutes. When you walk in, you’ll notice that it looks like a diner. Apparently, that’s what it was before. Two guys were working(owners maybe) and they were so friendly and super efficient. One came up and took my order. I asked if the fish tacos were good and he had the biggest smile on his face and said yes! You can tell that they take pride in their food. It was out in about 5 — 10 minutes. Most places, you wouldn’t see you waiter until the food came out but he came back and asked if I liked the salsa! Well of course I did! The chips were super fresh and flaky and the salsa was sooo fresh. I never eat all of my salsa but I was seriously scraping the bowl! The fish tacos were so simple but really good. Fresh cabbage, guacamole, hot sauce, and pico. I didn’t get the guacamole as an appetizer but I heard that they make it at the table! Awesome! So after about 5 – 10 minutes, the other guy working came by and introduced himself. He asked how I heard about his place and was excited to hear that someone recommended it! Great place! They really make you feel welcome so I definitely recommend it!
